My son took his car here and asked for a diagnostic type request. They could not get the car to turn over. "Mark" called and rudely told my son come pick your car up we couldn't get and or do anything becuz your engine seized up, he basically told him to pick up today and let him know if he couldn't pick it up ASAP (((( AND!!! ))) still charged him the $125.00!! They couldn't even perform the diagnostic! He didn't offer half price, he didn't offer any other options ect just "come get your car today!" This is a 18 yr old kid who bought this car off of offer up, he informed Al's shop of this & as a older man (Mark) couldn't you have been alittle better about educating him about this car and or giving him some options. I am from San Diego but attending a retreat in Indian Wells. On the way to Indian Wells, my car's air conditioning stopped blowing out cold air. We made it to Indian Wells and during a free afternoon, I called the hotel's concierge for recommendations on a local auto repair shop. After placing me on a brief hold, the concierge recommended AI's. I called the shop and spoke to Mark, who asked me a series of questions, then scheduled an appointment for me to come in the same day and provided an estimate for the inspection. When I arrived I spoke with Mark again and he confirmed the estimate price and what it would include. Mark determined from the inspection that my car needed a new air filter and more Freon. I was there by 1 pm and out before 2 pm - all at a reasonable price and with great customer service! If I'm ever back in the area and need some auto repairs, I would definitely come back. read more

I can't say enough good things about this shop. I talked with Mark and Jeremy over the phone they were incredibly helpful and took their time to explain everything to me as I am not someone that is very automotive savvy. The prices were very fair, and the service was done in a timely manner, they called and let me know when it was going to be done and everything was as they said. They gave my truck an entire look over let me know what needed to be done right then (I went in because of a leaking radiator on my truck) and they also gave me a list of items that they said would need to be addressed in the future as my truck is a 2003 it was nice to have an idea of the next few things that should be addressed in order to keep it running great. They even gave me an itemized copy at the shop (also emailed me the list which is great as I tend to misplace papers) of what they did then and the prices for everything on top of that they then included the list of future needs along with all the prices. Well I took my Car in to have the AC checked . Waited for a few hours . The owner came and told me my Car was ready . I drove off and noticed the AC was still blowing hot air . Drove back just to be told that he was sorry but the guy he had work on my car didn't know what he was doing , so he added Freon and didn't check the ac Compressor . I had paid $238 and he said since it was their mistake he'd give me back $35 . After talking to him he said okay , I guess I won't charge you for labor and Freon . MF had a guy who didn't know what he was doing work on my car and even worse didn't even check to see if the car ac was working before giving me my car . I highly recommend not using this place . What kind of business runs like that . read more

Great Find! We have a Lexus RX350 way past the 36K mike check-up. I went 3 years to the dealer in Cat City but the last time I was there, it was a new owner & I felt unnecessary work was done and it cost way too much. So I was searching on Yelp and found this smaller operation in Indio (because it is closer to work.) I called and spoke with Mark when he promptly returned a message. He said he used to work at the Lexus dealer in Cat City and my car should have no issues at the 36K mark. He said bringing it in next day. My husband took it in and for a reasonable price we did our maintenance. He was timely and explained well. He said there was one spot with a small leak - keep an eye on it to see if we need to do something about it. Funny thing is it turned out he had helped my husband get his A/C fixed on our VW Westfalia a few weeks ago when the nearby VW mechanic needed this work to be done for us. Small world. I think we found our Lexus mechanic - right near our VW mechanic. Thanks! read more

I was looking for Someone close by my house and happen to he down my street. I spoke with Mark who acknowledged me even though he was busy on a car. I needed to get my rear brakes done since I was unable to do it myself. Also needed a oil change. He quoted me a fair rate and broke down the cost and procedure of the labor that needed to be done. I left my car and within an hour mark calls and say I needed to replace my filter in my engine, I haven't done so since I bought that car and so I thought it was a great idea that I did that. He explained it was part of the complimentary inspection and I was very pleased that he took the time to check the Vehicle out not just perform the work that was needed. The job took about and hour and a half which I would say was fast considering everything mark was had t do.
