Took my car in to have oil change, fix a fuel filling issue, and fix the car from going into limp mode when I would accelerate quickly. they charged me over $3000 and told me that they didn't see anything wrong to cause a fuel filling issue. The car was now worse than it was before I took it in. It now was impossible to drive without it going into limp mode, they forgot to change the oil, and it was still nearly impossible to fuel. So I took it back and after several days they said that there is metal in the fuel and that they would need to replace both fuel pumps, the fuel lines and all the injectors. I asked what component had failed? They didn't know, they felt it was necessary to replace everything costing another $5,000. I reluctantly agreed but a little angry they were incapable of being able to diagnose what exactly had failed. They call me back a few days later and claim it will be ready to pick up soon. I asked if they had checked the fuel filling issue ? they had not. They called back the next day and said sure enough the tank wouldn't take fuel, and they didn't know why but claimed that fuel tank would need to be replaced . I called BS. But they insisted that the fuel tank would need to be replaced and they wouldn't guarantee that would fix the problem. I said no, do not replace the fuel tank. So I picked up the car and googled the fuel issue and found a VW service bulletin which told me how to get to the vapor tube and clean it . Took like 30 minutes and fixed the issue and no part's required. Never in my life have I every encountered such incompetence, or out right theft by false repair and or replacement. These people are not truthful, and incompetent to the point that they should never be allowed to work on cars. Never to be trusted. read more

If your looking for an honest mecanic, you will not find one here. He has the capability to be a good honest mecanic, but he rather lie, invent, and take your money. Unfortunately he knows how to fix old bugs and they are rare to find these days. I took him a new battery and a week later he said it was dead. I returned the battery and they told me it wasn't the same battery and the purchase sticker had been removed. I then realized that Eddy is a weasil. He also tried keeping some old parts my car had, a hurst stick shift and other crap. I was like WTH is wrong with this guy. He got my clunker running. It had been sitting for years. Spent a generous amount of time telling and showing all that he had worked on or replaced. His bill was right at his estimate. Later, while on the road near Flagstaff an alternator warning light appeared. I brought my daughter's used (new to her) vw beetle in to Eddie for repair. He not only seems to know Volkswagens but also seemed to be an enthusiast. I found him to be very nice, upfront and honest, he explained everything he thought would need to be done to get the car repaired. He had the car done in 2 days, his prices were fair, he had the parts he removed laid out for us and explained what he had repaired. Just by listening to the motor he knew exactly what had to be done, he further assessed the car and thoroughly explained everything. After reading the reviews i chose this shop. BUT Stay away from this scam artist. 2 months ago I took my car in for some brakes. He charged me $280 I figured hey its expensive but he will provide quality work. WRONG! When I left the shop it felt funny when I would brake but I was thinking hey they are new brakes they just braking in. We'll 2 months later they start squiking really bad so I'm like I better take it in. So I do its a Tuesday, his response. "Why didn't you bring it in right away. I can't see it till next week". So I have to have this car for a whole week squiking. Now talk about bad customer service. If u make a mistake you fix it right away. He is making me wait a week with squiking brakes. Ridiculous. Our 1975 VW bus broke down in route to Coachella so we had it towed to his place since it was too expensive to tow back to Clovis. It ended up needing a new long block. Eddie was very helpful in recommending additional items needed while the engine was out (Air cooled engines have a lots of unique parts). He allowed us to order the long block and the additional parts which we had dropped shipped to his shop. He was always available and kept us updated. He even took us a few pictures of his progress. The bus was ready for a test drive when we drove down to pick-it up and he did a great job at a fair price. He really know VW's and we are glad he was the one to replace the engine! read more

He knows his stuff on VW's, yes, but the way he conducts business especially on the way he writes up the work and what he charges is questionable. Be wary and make sure he writes up everything on the estimate and gives you a price up front in writing. He has you sign a blank estimate when you drop of the car and when you sign an authorization signature to do work without anything listedyou set yourself up for a bad surprise. I come from a VW family and have worked on them since I was young ( I just didn't have the time to do the work on some things a few months ago and if you know anything about old VW's the are pretty easy to work on with a minimal amount of tools.) Total shock on what he charged. It should have cost half the price in labor for what he charges. Now I'm noticing some discrepancies on the work he said he did. He hasn't been at the shop for 3 days now and not answering his phone which the mailbox is full. No signs saying on vacation or anything. I went by and his shop again and still no one there and it looks like many of the vehicles that were outside are no longer there so maybe he is outta of business. If he's not, he needs to learn some better business practices. Once again, he does know his stuff on VW's and was referred to by the VW Dealer but I won't be using him for further services on my little gem. Blew the tranny in my sand rail. Eddie tore it down and was very good at explaining and showing me what was wrong (lots!). Axle was broken, tranny major damaged, etc. Told him didn't have a lot of $$ to spend on it right now. He gathered up some worthy used parts plus ordered what else was needed. Took awhile, but I had told him not in a huge hurry. Was fairly expensive when all done, but he fixed a bunch of other stuff that needed attention. All things considered, price was fair and he did things right. Will go back if ever have any more VW related issues. read more
