Since moving to the area, Eddie has been working on my 71 Karmann Ghia for 8 years. He is reliable, honest, friendly and fair. With older cars, it can be tough to find a good mechanic and after owning mine since 1987, I feel like I hit the jackpot when I found Eddie! read more

One of the worst services I've experienced. He never has the parts when he says he will. Very rude to my son, my son also mentioned he speaks to the parts people very badly. To many offenses towards them. read more

Eddie has been working on VWs for the past 30+ years. He did good work when I used them 30 years ago and I expect he'll do good work now.

I got a recommendation from someone on Vanagon Cafe. Eddie was very professional and courteous. I would definitely recommend him and I will be returning to get additional work done in the future. read more

Eddie is honest, knowledgeable and reliable. Been taking my 1974 CW Bus to him for 10 years now. Love him!

If your looking for an honest mecanic, you will not find one here. He has the capability to be a good honest mecanic, but he rather lie, invent, and take your money. Unfortunately he knows how to fix old bugs and they are rare to find these days. I took him a new battery and a week later he said it was dead. I returned the battery and they told me it wasn't the same battery and the purchase sticker had been removed. I then realized that Eddy is a weasil. He also tried keeping some old parts my car had, a hurst stick shift and other crap. I was like WTH is wrong with this guy. He got my clunker running. It had been sitting for years. I give him some credit for that. Can't trust this guy at all. read more

Took my car in to have oil change, fix a fuel filling issue, and fix the car from going into limp mode when I would accelerate quickly. they charged me over $3000 and told me that they didn't see anything wrong to cause a fuel filling issue. The car was now worse than it was before I took it in. It now was impossible to drive without it going into limp mode, they forgot to change the oil, and it was still nearly impossible to fuel. So I took it back and after several days they said that there is metal in the fuel and that they would need to replace both fuel pumps, the fuel lines and all the injectors. I asked what component had failed? They didn't know, they felt it was necessary to replace everything costing another $5,000. I reluctantly agreed but a little angry they were incapable of being able to diagnose what exactly had failed. They call me back a few days later and claim it will be ready to pick up soon. I asked if they had checked the fuel filling issue ? they had not. They called back the next day and said sure enough the tank wouldn't take fuel, and they didn't know why but claimed that fuel tank would need to be replaced . I called BS. But they insisted that the fuel tank would need to be replaced and they wouldn't guarantee that would fix the problem. I said no, do not replace the fuel tank. So I picked up the car and googled the fuel issue and found a VW service bulletin which told me how to get to the vapor tube and clean it . Took like 30 minutes and fixed the issue and no part's required. Never in my life have I every encountered such incompetence, or out right theft by false repair and or replacement. These people are not truthful, and incompetent to the point that they should never be allowed to work on cars. Never to be trusted. read more

He's The Best Eddie has worked on many vehicles of mine and never seems to amaze me every time, he is a Blessing

I completely trust this mechanic. That's saying a lot!!

While on vacation near Palm Springs our 1990 VW Westfalia van decided to break down. Eddie was friendly, fast, and fair and got our baby back on the road. Highly recommended. Tip: He doesn't take credit/debit cards, so make sure to have cash. read more

Eddie is a real approachable honest man. Brought in my bug and he explained in detail the problems and his prices were fair. His actual auto shop number is 760-347-2977. The one posted is incorrect. read more

Eddie is a masterful mechanic and problem solver - we were thrilled to find him in a pinch when our 1990 Westfalia had a fuel pump issue. Eddie diagnosed the problem immeadiately and expedited the parts needed to fix the issue - we were back on the road in no time. I would highly recommend Eddie as your go-to guy! read more

Eddie is the man!!! He saved a family treasure (a 1967 beetle) . After calling all over San Diego and Coachella valley all businesses said he was gonna be our guy and they were right! He waited an extra hour so we could get it towed to him, fantastic service and had it ready to run the next week. When there was an issue he called me and gave me honest feedback before moving forward. Extremely genuine and good mechanic. We will be back for any future needs. Thank you Eddie! read more

One of the most honest and genuinely nicest person that I have met in a long time. And he is the wisest of wise for VW's. Especially Vanagons and Westfalias. He is reasonable. Kind. Quick. I'm totally impressed with this guy. I am one of those people who have been taken to the cleaners by auto mechanics - many times. I know a good one when I see one. I just can't say enough good things about this man. I'm only a customer. No relation to him. I'm very grateful to him for being able to trust him with my one and only vehicle. read more

Yeah, what Andrea said. I have a '79 VW Westy. Eddie took it in and made it road worthy. He treated my bus like it was his own. Spent a generous amount of time telling and showing all that he had worked on or replaced. His bill was right at his estimate. Later, while on the road near Flagstaff an alternator warning light appeared. I called Eddie and he took the time to talk me down, give me advice and estimate what the replacement of the alternator should cost. Doesn't get any better than that. Thanks Eddie ! read more

Took in my Beetle and Eddie took great of me and my car. He was honest about his work and helped me understand more about my car as well.

I brought my daughter's used (new to her) vw beetle in to Eddie for repair. He not only seems to know Volkswagens but also seemed to be an enthusiast. I found him to be very nice, upfront and honest, he explained everything he thought would need to be done to get the car repaired. He had the car done in 2 days, his prices were fair, he had the parts he removed laid out for us and explained what he had repaired. It was refreshing to bring a car into a repair shop where we felt comfortable that we were getting a fair price and a reliable service! read more

Really honest work, has done a great job restoring my car. Thankful to have met Eddie and be able to work with him. He has been in the area for years and has an excellent work ethic. read more

Eddie is a master when it comes to VW's. He gladly dropped everything he was doing to asses my 71 SB. Just by listening to the motor he knew exactly what had to be done, he further assessed the car and thoroughly explained everything. I initially dropped in to check him out and ended up leaving the shop with a new exhaust all within an hour or so of being there. His price was more than reasonable and i left like a lil kid leaving toys r us with a new toy! overall, the experience was great and now i have been taking my SB to him ever since. Eddie is the man for your VW needs. read more

I just called this place 15mins ago to inquire about their hours, specifically when they close this evening and the associate asked me "Why?!" Despite just hanging up, I went against my better judgment and asked what did he mean why, I'm obviously looking for service! He then said they were already closed and began to say more when I hung up . . . . . . At a complete lose for words still . . . . . .If only I could leave no stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

After reading the reviews i chose this shop. BUT Stay away from this scam artist. 2 months ago I took my car in for some brakes. He charged me $280 I figured hey its expensive but he will provide quality work. WRONG! When I left the shop it felt funny when I would brake but I was thinking hey they are new brakes they just braking in. We'll 2 months later they start squiking really bad so I'm like I better take it in. So I do its a Tuesday, his response. "Why didn't you bring it in right away. I can't see it till next week". So I have to have this car for a whole week squiking. Now talk about bad customer service. If u make a mistake you fix it right away. He is making me wait a week with squiking brakes. Ridiculous. This guy a scumbag. Dont ever go with this guy! I wish I could give him 0 stars read more

Took my 98 Beetle to Eddy and am so happy I did! He explained in great detail what the problem was and it made sense. I actually feel confident that I'm talking to an honest guy. He did the job in less time and for less money than he estimated at first. I will not hesitate to bring my car back If anything ever happens to it again. I feel really lucky to have found him! read more

Awesome service very honest made me feel confident that my car would be repaired in a timer manner... I've doubt with dishonest and over charged Mechanics in the past .... Our 1975 VW bus broke down in route to Coachella so we had it towed to his place since it was too expensive to tow back to Clovis. It ended up needing a new long block. Eddie was very helpful in recommending additional items needed while the engine was out (Air cooled engines have a lots of unique parts). He allowed us to order the long block and the additional parts which we had dropped shipped to his shop. He was always available and kept us updated. He even took us a few pictures of his progress. The bus was ready for a test drive when we drove down to pick-it up and he did a great job at a fair price. He really know VW's and we are glad he was the one to replace the engine! read more

He knows his stuff on VW's, yes, but the way he conducts business especially on the way he writes up the work and what he charges is questionable. Be wary and make sure he writes up everything on the estimate and gives you a price up front in writing. He has you sign a blank estimate when you drop of the car and when you sign an authorization signature to do work without anything listedyou set yourself up for a bad surprise. I come from a VW family and have worked on them since I was young ( I just didn't have the time to do the work on some things a few months ago and if you know anything about old VW's the are pretty easy to work on with a minimal amount of tools.) Total shock on what he charged. It should have cost half the price in labor for what he charges. Now I'm noticing some discrepancies on the work he said he did. He hasn't been at the shop for 3 days now and not answering his phone which the mailbox is full. No signs saying on vacation or anything. I went by and his shop again and still no one there and it looks like many of the vehicles that were outside are no longer there so maybe he is outta of business. If he's not, he needs to learn some better business practices. Once again, he does know his stuff on VW's and was referred to by the VW Dealer but I won't be using him for further services on my little gem. I will be doing it myself and get my parts from jbugs.com. read more

Very honest and professional, quoted me $265 but after the job was done he returned $20 saying it was cheaper than he thought

Blew the tranny in my sand rail. Eddie tore it down and was very good at explaining and showing me what was wrong (lots!). Axle was broken, tranny major damaged, etc. Told him didn't have a lot of $$ to spend on it right now. He gathered up some worthy used parts plus ordered what else was needed. Took awhile, but I had told him not in a huge hurry. Was fairly expensive when all done, but he fixed a bunch of other stuff that needed attention. All things considered, price was fair and he did things right. Will go back if ever have any more VW related issues. read more
