    Poke bowl + spam musubi
    Lucas W.

The poke bowl is massive. It was so full of fish and toppings. I should've turned it into two meals but instead ate the whole thing and was uncomfortably full, very much my own fault. The toppings were all delicious but I especially liked both the sweet and spicy sauces that were heavily applied. The spam musubi was just ok as it felt like a LOT of rice to me. But I will definitely get another poke bowl when I am next in Hilton Head.

Love the Hawaiian theme with fresh smoothies and bowls. I made my own bowl with Açaí, strawberries, bananas, blueberries, granola and honey. I wish there was more smoothie in the bowl. It was heavy in the toppings and light on the smoothie.

Build your own açaí or poke bowl, or choose one from the menu. I had the Palmalu with açaí sorbet, large, sweet blueberries, strawberries, bananas, macadamia nuts apples, local honey, organic granola. I chose to add organic cocoa nibs for an additional dollar. Fresh, sweet enough, but not overpowering. It came out in about 5 minutes. For a sweet, semi healthy, treat, this place is a winner.

OK, it's not gonna be a gourmet sit down white tablecloth place but for a fun beach town you got fresh fruit goods you got desserts you got different hot foods grilled to order you have cookie bowls and ice cream even lots of different drink and smoothie options if you're looking for a break clean bathroom those type of things is a pretty good option. I also have even T-shirts and a TV with fun stuff running on the backvery nice atmosphere with surfboards and concert posters and fun music like reggae and such check it out.

Salmon Poke Bowl - 3/4 servings of salmon + edamame + cucumber + avocado + ginger + mixed greens (no sauce)

Terrific across the board. My husband said his poke bowl was the BEST he has ever had and if Al's Aloha Kitchen was in the town we lived in, he'd eat there every single day. This is a HUGE beyond HUGE compliment because my husband legit likes NOTHING. I too loved my poke bowl. The salmon paired with the avocado and ginger = perfection! No complaints! Would absolutely eat here an again, maybe even every day with my husband if we lived closer! Also must note that the service was 10/10 no notes! So friendly and accommodating!

Açaí bowl, poke bowl & crab salad

Came here after I went biking and wow, it's so good and refreshing! I got a build your owl açaí bowl, Haleiwa poke bowl and the crab salad and everything tasted amazing and great quality. The vibe inside is really nice and clean. Definitely would come again.

Poke bowls- 10/10 Açaí bowls- 7/10 Came back after a great experience first time around. Still enjoyed our time but poke bowls are definitely the way to go here. Açaí bowls were tasty but compared to other places we've been the variety of topping offerings was a bit limited. Our actual açaí base was pretty frozen and hard to dig in to. Flavor was great and the service was as friendly as ever. We also enjoyed the (covered) outdoor seating for a break from the sun. Will definitely be back for poke bowls in the future.

    Açaí bowl. A sad one.

Came here for both a poke bowl and an açaí bowl. My poke bowl was pretty good and good quality. Their tuna is a homemade recipe that is not very spicy at all but still good. I had the Pipeline and was overall satisfied but they might be pricing just a bit over what's fair. The açaí bowl I had unfortunately was a disappointment as it was mostly toppings. Building your own is limited to 2 toppings and 2 fruit choices, but the most important part, the açaí, was most disappointing as there was not much served in it. My bowl was ¾ toppings even with the limitations.

Açaí bowl is outta this world

Poke on HHI?! Just another reason why HHI is my favorite of islands. We arrived just in time to miss the line forming straight out the door. This place is happening! The poke was yummy and hit the spot. A must visit place for the poke lover in your life!

We weren't impressed - the fish wasn't super fresh and portions are tiny for the price. Maybe I'm just spoiled with poke options back home, but I doubt we'll be going back. Definitely better options nearby.

The outdoor seating is a nice touch, with a mix of open-air tables and some covered spots at the bar for shade. The drink menu is decent, with plenty of tropical cocktails to choose from, though the beer selection is surprisingly limited for a place that stays this busy. Most of the service seems to run through the bar, and while the bar staff was friendly, upbeat, and doing their best despite being absolutely swamped, the table service was pretty spotty. The food menu is just okay--nothing terrible, nothing standout. I ordered the Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich at lunch, and unfortunately it did not sit well with me at all. It upset my digestive system enough to derail one of my vacation days, which definitely colored the experience. One thing that stood out was the presence of armed security guards. Not necessarily a problem, but it does create a different atmosphere than you might expect from a casual beachfront bar. Many reviews have mentioned the parking. We stayed at the hotel, so it wasn't an issue for us but somebody sitting next to me at the bar was ejected by management for something related to parking. I'm not sure of the exact details because I couldn't hear the conversation well, but it seemed to have to do with either buying or selling a parking pass with someone else. There was another incident where an unruly patron had the police called on them after engaging with one of the aforementioned security guards. That said, these seemed to be atypical of the total experience. Overall, it's an entertaining spot for drinks and music, but the unpleasant food experience land it at a middle-of-the-road three stars for me.

Hi Everyone, Ya,…read moreknow, maybe you don't feel like bagging your lunch today, or making diner tonight, but you've got to eat! What ever will you do? What type of food do you want to eat, now or later? Questions, questions, those nagging questions. Well we here, in the peanut gallery, may have a solution for you today. If you enjoy eating Sushi (Japanese cuisine, in which raw or cooked fish can be inserted into or be placed a top a rice roll with other ingredients). Now I thought that Sushi was ONLY raw fish (which I know you knew, but I didn't, lol), and Sushmi which I thought was actually only cooked fish inserted in, or a top a rice roll, with other ingredients, such as seaweed, cream cheese, imitation crab (I.e. pressed white fish) etc... But, bust my buttons, Sushmi is actually Hindu female name, not a name for Asian cusine, which means welcoming or pleasant, (which I know you knew, but I didn't, lol), but I digress, along with some other Chinese classics then we can highly recommend you visit AKOMEYA right here in Bluffton, SC. Why? Because my friends, their food entrees are actually very savory and delicious treats. Their ambiance is inviting, neat, and clean. Their Servers are friendly, personable, and helpful. Their prices are affordable, that's right, as in, most of us can actually afford to pay for them. For instance, they offer four lunch (ONLY) Chinese meals that are relatively healthy as prepared with a delicate balanced of ingredients that are tastebuds delight. And yes, Jethro, them there "viddles" will fill your belly and keep you a comin back for more helpins! But for how much? $10.00 per entree. Now that them their is an affordable price for lunch, even for Jethro da Bodeen. Their diner menu offers many delightful and tasty tantalizing entrees as well which we have also have enjoyed multiple times. So if you have a hankerin for some good viddles like our man Jethro, it's time to get on down to AKOMEYA and git sum. BTW, Akomeya is also a specialty rice shop with locations at many major train stations in Tokyo. Although rice is their main focus, they also offer an impressive selection of kitchen goods, condiments, and snacks--making it a must-visit for cooking enthusiasts or anyone in search of thoughtful, Japan-made gifts (which I know you knew, but I didn't ). Enjoy!

The crab punch cocktail was good, but the crab coconut rum tasted a little odd to me (their exclusive brand). I preferred the salty Chihuahua cocktail. All drinks are thankfully strong (everywhere else on the island they were weak). The Jalapeño hush puppies seem like they are made in-house, and they're very flavorful & crunchy. The hush puppies came with honey butter which was also amazing. The lunch grilled grouper fish taco was delicious & fresh. The salsa on it was very flavorful! The house-made potato chips are also great. Service was great (not rushed). They do need drink coasters (water was all over the table). We came back for dinner. They had live music. Abby& Taylor were the two different servers we had and they were both amazing. They did not rush us. The fried green tomatoes were very good with lots of pimento cheese and crunchy unlike the ones we had at Old Oyster Factory. The pineapple Mojito was good. Overall great experience!

I visited during the last week of February, so definitely "pre-season" and there was no wait (or many patrons) at 6:00 pm. I must confess that I am a New Englander, so we take our seafood pretty seriously; I'm not daft enough to order lobster in SC, when it should be coming from Maine, so I passed over those options, but I was curious to try the "New England Clam Chowder". We also ordered the fried pickles w/ Jersey sauce, an order of the special Jax shrimp (akin to bang bang shrimp), 2 fish sandwiches, a shrimp burrito, and I had an ultimate taco. You order at the counter, grab your utensils and condiments off to the side, along with fountain drinks & iced tea. They sell draft beer, a limited variety of bottled beer, some Truly-type seltzer cans, but I had to have a Mexican Coke, even though it set me back $4.50. Sit in the dining area and the food is delivered to your table. First off: the NE clam chowder was hot and filling, but it was more like a loaded baked potato soup--too viscous (not dairy based), some clam flavor, but too much bacon. I spied some clams, and there was a spicy finish; truthfully, I could not finish it but folks unaware of how it should be wouldn't bat an eye. The fried pickles were large spears in a light, tempura-like batter; the group agreed we'd have liked them cut into smaller bites to make them easier to manage. But tasty. The fish sandwiches were piled high with fresh cod filets, lightly breaded and sitting atop a brioche bun piled with lettuce & tomato, served with seasoned fries (paprika-forward). We got a side of the homemade coleslaw, and everyone agreed it was fresh and delicious. The shrimp burrito took a bit of time to come out after all the other dishes, but it was large and half was taken home to finish later. My ultimate taco was fabulous! It arrived garnished like some sort of fancy-pants entree at a high-end restaurant--a huge surprise and very filling. It lived up to its description requiring two hands to hold it. My favorite of the night was actually the special Jax shrimp, which we added on a whim--shrimp was perfectly breaded & fried, all very plump & juicy. I'd have eaten another order of them if I'd had the room. I believe Slap Fish is worth a visit--perhaps several visits. If you discount the New England clam chowder (get a native in the back to show the cook how to make it!), every piece of fish was fresh and delicious. Again, I'm not sure how Slap Fish measures up in the height of the summer season, but I was pleasantly enlightened on my first visit.
