There were 5 of us and we made reservations for 4. At the last minute a 5th was invited. They were very good about allowing an addition. We have been here many times and never have been dissatisfied. I had a special Halibut but the price point was not discussed prior to me ordering. My bad A 4oz +/- was $47 with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was excellent but I normally don't let the price slip by. The best part showing great service was nieces meal was comped because it was late. $45. wow impressive. Britany our server was excellent and very attentive. She was knowledgeable about all aspects of the dining experience. I love the openness of the restaurant but it is a little dark in there. This Truffles is in Sea Pines close to Harbour Town. I should have tipped on the possible total but I wasn't thinking, my bad. Sorry Britany. read more

Came here for a late lunch on a Thursday after visiting the preserve, and it was not too busy. We ordered the chopped salad and pimento grilled cheese and tomato soup. Decent sized portions and prices. The food was fine and the garlic chive butter that they serve with their bread was good. The soup had good flavor. Nice ambiance and decor. Located in a shopping plaza that is inside the Sea Pines resort area which costs $9 for a day pass. Large parking lot. read more

If you looking for them perfect spot for dinner do not miss this place!!! It has been here for many years so most now of this spot.. I had the pleasure of being taken care of by Betsy. She was amazing. This as by far the BEST meal I have had in years. I had the striped bass with Mediterranean salsa, green beans and mash potatoes. The fish was hands down top of my all time meals. The atmosphere was perfect. I also enjoyed a delicious "pearadise cocktail" which was also perfect. 5 stars is just not enough!!! read more

I can't believe I have never been here!. For me in all the years I have been coming to HHI....This is some of the best fish I have had. Place has low lighting but this makes it feel cool after a hot day.. We sat at the bar and we were promptly greeted and served. Bartender...Thomas...was knowledgeable friendly and properly attentive. Baked brie appetizer was delicious with liquor soaked pecans. Our fish dishes....the Cod and the catch of the day --Redfish...we're delicious... cod had a pesto sauce was cooked perfect with a buttery center. Redfish was lightly blackened and tasty as well. Both came with mashed potatoes and haricot vert green beans. Cocktails were a mojito and a martini. We weren't rushed, and the food was delicious... we would definitely go back. read more

Not often do you see chicken pot pie on a menu- so of course I ordered it. It was delicious, flaky crust, plenty of chicken, and the carrots were not overcooked. My husband had the French onion soup and he loved it. We were there with a big group. The service was attentive and it has a nice romantic atmosphere. read more

Having eaten at a number of restaurants in Hilton Head over the last month, the dinner here was the best by far. Perfectly prepared Redfish was the special tonight and it was fantastic. The wait staff is awesome, the ambiance of the restaurant is really lovely......don't miss this restaurant if you're looking for a great meal. Meatloaf and chicken pot pies are some of the other fantastic options. We will return here often next year. read more

We ate here on the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed! I had the grilled shrimp with green beans and wasabi rice. It was so good. My wife and oldest son had the half rack of ribs and they said they were excellent. The youngest kids got the cheeseburgers from the kids menu. Portions were good sized. We got two gluten free brownies with ice cream to share as a family and honestly we could have just gotten one. They were huge! The service was excellent. The ambiance is family friendly or great for a romantic evening for two. We will come here again the next time we vacation at HHI. read more

I haven't been to Truffles in a hot minute but decided to have dinner there on a recent visit to HHI. I'm so happy this place is still firing on all cylinders. Food was outstanding, particularly the tuna - one as an entree and one on the salad. My son inhaled the burger. The redfish special was very good & came with delicious mashed potatoes. We were walk ins without a reservation on a Tuesday in early November. We were seated quickly and while the restaurant did fill up, the service was great and the food, as always was tooo notch. I hah the chicken pot pie which was the perfect comfort food for a cool November evening. read more

We eat here every time we come back to HHI. We always order the same thing - just love the Southwest salad with chicken and the New Orleans pasta with chicken. Always enough pasta for leftovers. A group of 8 of us, 4 of which were children visited on NYE. I won't lie I was nervous because of the amount of kids and it being a holiday but it was top knotch. The service was absolutely perfect. Not there too much but constantly checking back and making sure our drinks were filled. We had French 75's and they were made to perfection even with two different types of Gin. I had the truffle pasta and I could have kept eating. It was the perfection meatless option even though I'm not vegtarian. While there is cream in it, it didn;'t feel heavy. My husband had the tuna and he said it is some of the best he ever had! We were recommended this spot but life long HHI visitors and they definitely told us the best spot. We will be back! read more

Came here for lunch a few days ago, there were five of us. Cute place, great service and good food. I didn't take pics of everyone's food, just mine. But most of the teen girls got burgers and a chicken sandwich. The other adult at the table ordered a salad (I think) and I ordered a Cuban sandwich with fries. Try: tomato dill or French onion soup, artichoke dip, coconut shrimp, tuna wonton, nice salads, smoked salmon or fries. The best is the baked Brie- enough for two with soup added. All very GOOD! Excellent service and overall experience for our group. One member has been going to Truffles for over 25 years but it was the first for the others in our group. Grilled meatloaf was just as good for my second meal as it was the first . Blondie dessert was ridiculous. But of all things, I'll never forget the butter for the bread!!! Now this is the best. First off we had one of the best waitresses I have ever had. Alexandra made amazing recommendations, always refilled my water and was just so kind. Now aside from that we had the amazing music and nice chill vibe inside. And what is a good restaurant without good food? The fish of the day, the red fish, was prepared amazingly with a choice of two different sauces or no sauce. It also came with green beans and mashed potatoes and did it disappoint? NOPE! It was amazing and the appetizers were just as good. Definitely an amazing experience and great restaurant! read more

We liked this restaurant so much we went 2x in 3 days. The fish (Mahi and Snapper)was done perfectly- not a second over-and the wine selection was spot on. The servers on both occasions were really great. Obviously the first experience inspired our second visit to the Sea Pines location. Both were very good nights. The dark wood and dim lights take a bit of getting used to - but it's easy to have a personal conversation. It's all very worth the $$. Highly recommend read more

Had a pretty good experience at this restaurant for lunch. Our server, Daniel U. was excellent, professional, friendly, and welcoming. I had the mango chicken sandwich as well as the coconut, shrimp appetizer. Both were amazing. Ensure that you have a couple of napkins available as the chicken sandwich is not only amazingly tasty, but also is a very generous portion so it can be an adventure to eat eloquently. The fries were also cooked perfectly, and a tasty compliment. My wife had the curry chicken salad (GF) and it was not tasty as it was too mayonnaise forward and too sweet. read more

Don't bother! We arrived for a late lunch and there were 3 tables occupied. No one was at the hostess station to greet us. We were behind a party of five, who decided to leave because of the wait. My wife had to go and find someone to let them know we were waiting. When the hostess or manager finally came over she said it would be an additional 5 minute wait. She asked where the other party was and when we said that they left, she couldn't have cared less. When we were finally seated, we tried to order a bottle of wine and were told that all of the 'reasonably' priced bottles were out of stock and if we wanted wine we'd have to get an $80 bottle. We passed. Food arrived, it was OK and, once again, we had to go and find someone to bring the check. There were more employees in the restaurant than customers and they were all behind the bar chatting and ignoring guests. It really didn't matter how good the food is When you have a staff that poor, or pooy managed!! read more

It was our first time here. The food was fabulous. Salmon with a spicy pineapple salsa, basmati rice and green beans. We also had meatloaf and whipped potatoes. Located in the Shops at a Sea Pines, plenty of other businesses in this strip mall. Giuseppe's Pizza, Lowcountry Produce, boutique shops, wealth management, bike rentals and more. It's quite cold inside so being a sweater or jacket. Bar looked nice but we didn't have alcohol this time. Staff were all friendly and professional. A must when you're in Sea Pines. If not staying at resort supposed to pay 10 dollars which comes off bill. We were hoping they had just hot crab clusters but only had as part of boil with potatoes, corn etc which we did not want. Decided to try out seafood sampler as had many things we liked. It is all cook then chilled other than oysters which are raw. Clams and mussels were not good as either tasteless or bit chewy. We got side of carrots for some veg and best description is wedding food. They also brought it well before tower so by time got tower had cooled down. Only thing redeemed meal was they brought out butter for the crabs. Service was okay as our server claimed but mussels and clams were still raw which they were not.

With two locations (the other in Bluffton) we hit this one on Hilton Head. It's a risky place to put a restaurant, buried in the back plaza of a nondescript but high-end shopping center deeeep in the wooded neighborhoods of the island's Southern tip. If you're staying elsewhere on the island, you'll find you have to pay a small fee to access Sea Pines but many people do to get to the Salty Dog Cafe as well. While it may not get a lot of visibility, it is definitely worth seeking out for the very good Latin American cuisine being offered. Out party of five arrived on an August Friday evening after making reservations and were impressed with the cleanliness and upscale minimalist vibe. Dark booths and Edison-style lighting are offset by the daylight let in by picture windows. There is outside seating in the patio (very pleasant in the shade) and a small bar open off the host area. Inside seating is large enough for bigger parties of 6-8. Definitely not a post-beach day place, but perfect for date night, or more dressy family dinner out. Service was quick and talkative; we enjoy chatting beyond food with out severs which makes the experience even better. Apps and mains were delivered quickly with good presentation. We started with the fine fresh corn dip - extra tortillas were helpful to get the last bits. Mains included a fresh and well pattied cheesburger, mix-n-match tacos and two specialty bowls - cajun shrimp with spicy fine fat prawns and an Ahi-tuna poke style bowl. The rice in both was excellent and the portions were perfect. I'll try to un-hide this hidden star with this review and encourage you to seek it out if you live on "HHi" or make your next visit. I came here with a bunch of friends from my undergraduate research lab while we were in Hilton Head presenting at a conference. We had rented a condo to all stay together and this place was in walking distance, so we headed over. I don't remember what all everyone else got to eat, or much about the service, but I do remember it was a total vibe. Beachy decorations that were fun but still classy and not too kitschy, warm lighting, good music. I ordered an item probably not even on their menu anymore: pulled barbeque chicken on a hunk of spicy cornbread with a side salad. I checked online and it's nowhere to be found, but it slapped at the time, and from pictures it seems like you can still maybe order their spicy cornbread at least, which was the best part! It had a great cakey texture and some legit heat. The chicken was succulent and tender and the smokiness paired well with the salad. It seems Chow Daddy's enjoyed a decade of success after my visit so long ago. I hope the temporary closure listed on the Yelp page doesn't turn into a permanent one. It was a pleasant surprise to be reminded of this visit and my time with friends.
