Employees aren't very welcoming, not saying you should be kissing ass but a "hello, welcome, good morning/afternoon" goes a long way. I asked about a specific revolver and caliber and the guy just pointed at a glass case, didn't offer to show anything or try to, you know, sell a firearm. On to the range, there's a big dude who is supposed to be the range officer, blowing big ass vape clouds right in front of my son and I. Sloppy loose clothes, not very professional. When other customers are rapid firing, the range officers don't seem to care to stop the unsafe practice. It's a nice establishment but the staff could improve greatly, it's a shame because this place is close to home and I shoot a lot, so you'd think I'd go here weekly but I'd rather make the drive to shootsmart. read more

Store has good selection and range in clean and well set up. However syaff is more about bullshitting with buddies than actual customer service. War stories are cool and all but when your at the cabinet waiting on help when staff is actively staring at you while bullshiting with thier buddy who is not purchasing anything is a no go for me. Hate academy but they get the sale this time. Hope the owner is cool losing out on a sale. My husband and I went to Alpine Shooting range yesterday for the first time with another couple. The pro shop is really nice and had a good selection of the basics as well as gear and accessories. It was $20 per person to use the range for the day and the fee included one small target. There were several ranges for pistols with multiple stalls, so we had our own little range for a while, which was nice because the RO could call it cold for us to change targets without waiting for other parties. The first two ROs were very friendly and chatted a little bit let us do our thing. There was a 3rd RO who came over and made things a little awkward... he was offering a lot of unsolicited advise, and didn't seem to pick up on cues that we were good and didn't want to chat. He basically wouldn't go away, and even came over and picked up our firearms without asking if it was okay... he was trying to give the other female in the group shooting lessons and we kept assuring him we didn't need them. So she and I ended up sitting in the car waiting for him to leave. Besides the one RO I really liked the range. It's nice, well maintained and seems to have lots of lanes available. read more

As a guy that doesn't shoot at a range often, coming here and having the people behind the shop counter treating you like an idiot for not knowing how THIER place operates is insane. I asked if I could get a box of ammo and skeet and where the skeet lanes were. And I had the old grump asshole behind the counter look at me like I've never held a gun before, tell me I can't shoot x y and z caliber and not answer the questions I asked in the first place. Waiting at the counter for 25 mins waiting to get an answer to "where can I get 55.6/.223" just to be told you don't have any, then to turn around and see the gumball ammo weight station bullshit you have to offer has been in my line of sight the whole time is stupid. I like the shop, love the range, like the fellas on the range. The people inside the shop treat you like Elmer fud treats bugs bunny. Learn to talk to people assholes. read more

While visiting friends in the area we decided to get some practice in and looked for an outdoor range. The reviews for Alpine range seemed nice so we made the drive out. We were all throughly impressed by the professionalism and courtesy of the staff. We had the opportunity to utilize the pistol & rifle bays. My favorite were the steel target bays. The sound you hear when hitting the target is so satisfying. We will definitely visit again when we are in town. read more

I agree with other reviews that the rangemasters seem to be very impressed with their authority and overly aggressive in doing their duties. Last time I was here one of them went through my range bad to make sure I wasn't hiding any FMJ ammo. This time the same thing. Ranger time is expensive - almost $20 dollars and I guess no senior discount, at least I didn't get one at age 76. People are not coming here anymore. Even a few years ago if you went to check zero on your rifles 3 weeks before deer season you would see pretty much all 20 shooting stations filled. I was the only one on the rifle range. The rangemaster felt he needed to hover around me while I shot. I'm sure this 20 something kid knows more about guns and shooting than I do with my 60 years doing same. On the pistol range it was only me and a group of three guys at one other station. Not helpful, friendly, or reasonable in price so I guess that explains it. read more

I ordered an item from Alpine Range's website on 5/11/22. The next day, on 5/12/22, I received an email indicating that my order had shipped. I checked the USPS tracking and it had not yet updated and merely stated "USPS Currently Awaiting Package". On 5/17/22, I checked the tracking again and it had not yet updated, and still stated "USPS Currently Awaiting Package". I emailed Alpine Range asking for an update and I received the following reply: "This package was shipped using Mail Innovations - a non-definite day service. They use UPS and the USPS for final delivery. The updates through them are only done once a day and may take 3 days to update. I have seen that some packages are delivered before the tracking information is updated. This service typically delivers within 3 to 10 days." On 5/23/22, still not having received the item and 11 days after I was informed it had shipped, I reached out to Alpine Range via email for another update. I did not receive a reply until the next day (5/24/22) stating that they would check with the shipper for a status. No follow up communication from Alpine Range as to the whereabouts of the order. I followed up today (5/25/22) and still have not heard back. This company has very poor customer service. They simply do not care. I have not received the item, nor has any attempt been made to remedy the situation. I would not recommend ordering from this company. read more

Alpine shooting club is a very nice place with very nice, professional, and courtesy people running it. It is run safely in an almost military style save sticking your finger in your ear when you need help. However, I do feel a little ripped off. I'm hoping that it's just a mistake and not "let's take advantage of the dumb guy." I arrived with ammo for my 223 that was not permitted. I completely understand as it was explained to me that there's neighborhood around them and full metal jacket 223 can sometimes escape the firing range bouncing off the walls and such. I get it. I also had 300 Blackout ammo which is also not allowed. $150.00 later I was back at the range with the Alpine store "by the pound" range ammo. As I left, I wanted to get a better understanding of what ammo was allowed and showed him my box of 300 Blackout. The second guy said that that ammo was perfectly acceptable. Hmmmm. read more

For 4th of July some friends and family were wanting to try shooting. We decided to go to Alpine shooting range and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I was a beginner and extremely nervous but the staff understood and helped me through it. I really enjoyed the experience and I am really glad that staff were so understanding about me being nervous. Never felt pressured to do anything and I feel that everyone was very encouraging. I would like to try it again when we visit. I highly recommend. read more

To piggyback off of another review there were a trio in the parking lot that just stunk of weed. Then 2 of 3 went in and bought ammo and targets to come back out and gather up the blunt holding 3rd. May should look into a parking lot monitor or something. Unsure how staff couldn't smell them they stunk so bad even outside. Having said that the place and staff is great just need to monitor their customers a little. read more

The staff here was very friendly. This was my first time shooting and they walked me through the whole thing. Not only was I able to receive some help I also found it cool that the people there were nice too. I'm not sure how.ranges work, but this range maybe be a lil far from visitors who doesnt live in the area and may be a lil hard to find, but when you do you'll enjoy yourself. My only word of advice is to get some reallyyyyyy good noise canceling head gear as this range is really loud. I actually cant hear from one ear now. Terrible range, nothing special. You can't use FMJ at a GUN RANGE. Rude staff, complete power trip the whole time. One dude smells like he hasn't showered in about 5 days. $20 without telling you you can't use FMJ. They also search your bags when you get there. Really nice place to shoot at, sadly when I went I was told no FMJ after purchasing the entry. After making my way to the "bullet shakedown" check point I ended up showing up with some FMJ 5.56 and was told to purchase hallow points that were a little pricey IMO. I went ahead and purchased 35 rounds and it cost me close to 50 bucks at the front counter I just would of liked more signs or warnings of what's allowed once arriving. I did end up purchasing a p320 from here too. The purchasing experience was straight forward but was hoping to get a free range pass or some sort of extra like other ranges would give but it's just me being picky. read more

I have always enjoyed visiting Alpine to shoot clays. Recently, I won a gun in a raffle and contacted Alpine to see if I could pay to have it shipped there. They said yes and quoted $60. There was a snag in the communication process between the shipper and Alpine. These things happen, so I went into the store to sort it out. I was speaking with KC who could not have been more discourteous to me. My phone autocorrect "range" to "ridge" when I was texting out a new email address to the shipper and KC took that opportunity to put me down, by asking me if i knew how to spell, and how hard is it to spell range? Our entire conversation was like this. Finally I call up there to see if the gun has arrived, it had and the person on the phone said there was a note saying I had been left a voicemail 2 days earlier. I had no missed calls or voicemail from Alpine. I go in to pick up the gun and a different guy is helping me. This man treated me like I had done something to offend him. He spoke as few word as possible to me. What should have been 5 mins in and out took 20 min because he stopped helping me 4 times to help other customers, even though I was a paying customer also. This guy also put me down while I was in the store. I don't ship many guns or buy huge amounts of ammo, but from now on I will happily pay more to have guns shipped elsewhere before going back to Alpine and being treated so poorly. read more

This range is simply awesome. The range instructors are service oriented as well as safety minded. They bent over backward taking care of us. Our church came out for a men's day outing to shoot sporting clays and we had a blast. the range even gave us all a ride out to our stations on a tractor-pulled shuttle and supplied us with ice-cold water when the weather turned a bit hot. Talk about being spoiled? Everyone was super nice. You can purchase shotgun shells for a reasonable price there if you need them. I highly recommend this range! He was constantly watching over our backs as if we where doing something wrong or breaking the rules, even though there were plenty other people shooting next to us which he didn't say a word to. I used to really enjoy Alpine. It was the only place that I would go. But a couple of years ago, they jacked their range fees sky high. Unless you have deep pockets, you can't really afford to take your kids out and shoot on the range. I was even required to pay for one of my boys that just came out to watch. He didn't actually want to shoot, he just wanted to hang out w his brothers and enjoy the experience. But the guy at the gate made me go back and pay his range fees. Pretty incredible. Capitalism is good, but you get the feeling that Money is more important here than relationships. They do have a great selection of merchandise, but it is outrageously expensive! You can find the same firearms and equipment elsewhere for significantly less. And don't ever forget to purchase your ammo before you get there. They will hit you hard on that as well. Their skeet/trap ranges are nicely done and their clay pigeon range is free as long as you buy your clay from them. And, yes, the range officer will check! Unless I am shooting clay pigeons, I will not go to Alpine anymore. It's too far, too expensive and feels like a genuine money grab. read more

I sh[t ar 100 yards People are allowed to pay for one bench and shoot all day if they desire. They can shoot a couple of guns...reset their targets,make a couple of phone calls and return with two different guns and shoot the remainder of the day never having relinquished the spot. Covid 19 has reduced available spots on range by half. Need time limit! read more

My husband and I came here for beginner pistol lessons with Sandra Watts and we had a fantastic experience. Sandra asked us questions about our experience level and then customized our lesson specifically to us. The lesson was very detailed and included gun safety, parts of the gun, stance and how to hold the gun, loading and aiming the gun, and range safety and etiquette. She was very knowledgable, and made us feel comfortable asking any questions we had. They have a public range and the prices were very reasonable, especially if you have your own guns. She let us know that taking lessons from her will get you 10% off merchandise in their store, and she introduced us to the store staff, who were all very knowledgable and helpful as well.
