I sent a message via Yelp on a Sunday night and they immediately scheduled our oven troubleshooting for Monday afternoon. Their front office staff is incredibly responsive! George (technician) arrived timely and was very thorough. He explained things to me every step of the way. He is approaching this very methodically - ok, so it's not the igniter, let's look at the next link in the chain... I saw George called out by name in other Yelp reviews, and I understand why he comes so highly recommended! He called the manufacturer to discuss his findings, but the manufacturer tech team wasn't available. He let me know he would be calling them again in the morning and that he would reach out to me with an update. I've had plenty of negative or so-so experiences with other service technicians from other companies. This experience with George / Astera is so positive that I'm posting my review even before the service is completed. Astera will be getting first crack at all of my appliance and HVAC service calls going forward.

The impressive part was the quick response from Vlad who is the owner and a technician. He was able to send someone the next day. The person figured it out and got it fixed. However, something was off on the repair which I noticed and Vlad again quickly came out to correct it. These days it's hard to get the type of attention and response from most businesses. Also things inevitably go wrong and you want to make sure you can trust a business to correct any issues. They do both very well!

Tried to tune the furnace anyway to accommodate it, which was actually kind of fun to watch all the different ways it could be done. No other HVAC technician I've ever worked with before has done that. A/C maintenance went great too. First company I've ever hired that didn't try to sell me an entirely new unit just due to a faulty capacitor. Even gave me the model number of the capacitor to replace if I want to save money and do it myself (I'm reasonably handy so it's something I'd probably do). The company then quoted me $2200 as the cost to replace it and reiterated that this did not include the $99 that they already charged me. Armed with this information, I posted pictures and exactly what the "diagnosis" said and asked for emailed quotes...to be clear I said EMAIL only. I then got no less than 10 phone calls saying "please give us a call so we can talk about your situation. Some called more than once. Lakeland Heating and Cooling (Jason) was nothing like that... $1270 flat rate to replace the water heater. Yes, thats how he replied in his email.. as I requested. He handled my winter maintenance well, and I recently had him back for the summer checkup. It was clear the previous homeowners hadn't maintained the AC units--they were filthy and both needed a deep cleaning ($100 each). Jesus performed extensive testing on the units, which was much more detailed than what I was used to with Four Seasons. He found a faulty capacitor, showed me the readings, and explained everything clearly. I even double-checked the process on YouTube, and everything he said and did checked out.
