After measuring, he said they could actually install on Saturday!! Friday, Sergio called and said they'd be out at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. At 8:28 a.m. they were pulling in our driveway. We had plenty of ideas of our own and after our initial call, Heather designed and sent us a beautiful draft plan *very* quickly with many, many improvements that we would never have thought of. She listened to all our ideas and wishes and was able to get them all to fit. Once we agreed upon the design we placed our 50% deposit and started working with Jessi (who turned out to be an old coworker and high school alum!), who was equally awesome and exactly as detail-oriented and creative as you want a final cabinet designer to be. She took our design from 90% to 100%, including improvements to many areas and solutions to our problems (french door fridge can't open if it's next to a wall, so she suggested a narrow broom cabinet that we LOVE). So many more examples of excellent suggestions, service and communication from the whole team at Spencer Cabinets. OH! I almost forgot that the actual cabinets are VERY high quality and built to very rigorous standards. I used to design and build furniture with tolerances in the 64ths of an inch and these are really, really great cabinets. When you spend a lot of money on something, you really want the end product to be worth it. This store has a challenging position to deal with. Monroe is an odd blend of country and suburb, with a faint dash of urban here and there. This store manages to provide a good balance for those audiences without taking too much financial advantage of the community. The store is clean and well-maintained. It added a Murray's Cheese counter, Kroger (Fred Meyer's parent company)'s cheesemonger counter with staff to help, and a selection of higher-end cheeses. This has done very well in this store and is slated for expansion. I'm all for it. The produce here is usually good to excellent. The meat is of excellent quality. Seafood is just okay and could use some improvement. Over all, Monroe is lucky to have a nice grocery store like this. It beats Safeway on selection and is about the same on pricing. It beats Walmart on both selection (though Walmart is starting to add interesting things here and there) and on produce quality (by a mile). Grocery Outlet is just that. Ignore the negative reviews (except maybe those from 2020). They make me shake my head at small-town pettiness taken to extremes. You got a bagger in training who messed up your bagging one time? Couldn't get all the fried hot food you wanted at the nanosecond you wanted it? Couldn't find a charged electric cart fast enough for your liking, even though the store sent someone to bring one to you? And for these kinds of things, you give a 1-star review and complain about pretty much one perceived offense? That's not cool. This is a good store that continues to try to provide the community with what it wants at a reasonable price.
