My wife and I ordered cabinets from Spencer for a full kitchen remodel. The process was clearly laid out and well described by their team. We had plenty of ideas of our own and after our initial call, Heather designed and sent us a beautiful draft plan *very* quickly with many, many improvements that we would never have thought of. She listened to all our ideas and wishes and was able to get them all to fit. Once we agreed upon the design we placed our 50% deposit and started working with Jessi (who turned out to be an old coworker and high school alum!), who was equally awesome and exactly as detail-oriented and creative as you want a final cabinet designer to be. She took our design from 90% to 100%, including improvements to many areas and solutions to our problems (french door fridge can't open if it's next to a wall, so she suggested a narrow broom cabinet that we LOVE). So many more examples of excellent suggestions, service and communication from the whole team at Spencer Cabinets. OH! I almost forgot that the actual cabinets are VERY high quality and built to very rigorous standards. I used to design and build furniture with tolerances in the 64ths of an inch and these are really, really great cabinets. When you spend a lot of money on something, you really want the end product to be worth it. We bought our first set of cabinets for our kitchen remodel in 2008. We bought a second set for our vacation home being built in E. Washington. Both sets are hemlock and they are gorgeous. The fit and finish is fine, it just takes me a long time to finish the trim work, but I finally did so with a little help from Will & Amy to overcome a small shortage of materials. Dottie came out personally, measured, asked us what we wanted. My wife and I were overwhelmed by the big box stores and what they had. It turns out you truly get what you pay for and when Spencer did our bathrooms and our kitchen, they were and are, far and above what you'll get anywhere else. The quality of the work is so far above the "mass produced" and the care and time to "get it right the first time" was clearly evident. So, bottom line, you want quality- go to Spencer. Cabinets are good quality and overall look pretty but there were several fit and finish issues. The company gets extremely defensive when mistakes are pointed out and just won't own up to them. For example, one selling point is that cabinets look more spacious because there wouldn't be center stiles; half of mine ended up with center stiles and I was not told that would be the case when I ordered. Two seemed to have been added as an after-thought and look amateurish/ DYI. The overhang in one of the base cabinets is incorrect so the unstained side of the toe kick is visible. And many other things, some fixable by the contractor, some you end up living with. Just be prepared that if issues are found, the company will treat you as an annoyance for reporting them rather than worry about making it right. read more

Very poor project management. I will leave it at that. Good cabinets however so many issues. I would not recommend them. Extra work for the carpenters. Spencer's drop off cabinets and leave. You need to install. Will the owner was in a hurry as they were throughout the process. No laser measurement, No design consultation meeting Sent wrong molding, Emailed wrong kitchen blue prints for us to approve. Did not take responsibility for their issues. read more
