I had to call them again (during the pandemic) to assess my slowly-dying dishwasher. Turns out in…read morethe Great Texas Power Outage of Feb 2021, appliances got compromised everywhere. In my dishwasher's case, the internal water something-or-other connector got compromised and it never functioned as robustly afterward. Appliance Express sent two men (wearing masks and observing all good Covid protocol) who assessed the situation and quoted me what it would cost to fix. They could have persuaded me to spend money with them fixing it, but they were very candid and advised me (against their own financial interest) that it was time to buy a new machine. We had a very helpful technical conversation about the types of new machines out there and what features to look for. I learned more about dishwashers that I didn't glean from my Internet research. That's real value. I really appreciate their professionalism and knowhow and recommend them highly.

When I saw that it was being done in violation of code (and looked terrible), I asked him just to stop. Rather than have a big scene in my house, I paid the entire service charge. Later, I called the office to negotiate at least a partial refund, and the person I needed to speak to was "not available" four times over a week's period, and never called back as promised. I kept calling to at the very least let them know things didn't go well. I finally spoke to a supervisor, and after explaining the whole ordeal, he said he'd have to compare my account to the technician's story. When I called back (again, no response as promised), the supervisor refuted my version of what happened and blew me off. I was out $300, and still didn't have my vent installed.

We then had a HPS tech come out and check the unit and could not find a leak despite the plumbers leak detectors going off previously. After the second plumber again detected the leak coming from the unit (see pic), I called HPS back, they initially told me they couldn't help and to call the gas company! I asked to speak to the manager. He called back and looked at the picture and said he thought it was the gas tube. We set up a re-check appointment for 2 days later, then texts me last minute and cancels, saying he couldn't get the tube. It was supposed to be a courtesy re-check but they flaked out and said to call someone else. I accepted their offer to destroy the service fee check but they still wasted my time and left me without a working stove. Very unprofessional. I had another company come over today, found the leak, and fixed it in less than one hour! It wasn't the tube! Lastly, after checking with Dacor, HPS is not an authorized service company.

Unfortunately, there are more than a few unscrupulous repair shops that will try to take advantage of the consumer's ignorance. That's why using HPS was a very pleasant and refreshing experience. It was easy and fast to obtain a same-day service appointment to diagnose the problem with our dishwasher. I thought the circulation pump had gone bad and Arti, the technician, confirmed it. We discussed a couple options, and Arti attempted to fix the unit with the less expensive route. Unfortunately an entire subassembly needed replacement so we had to wait until the next day to get the correct part and complete the repair. It was great that HPS kept the parts in stock instead of having to order and wait several days until the parts came in. Both the initial visit and follow-up were on-time and the service was fast and competent. These guys know how to provide excellent customer service and the price was less than expected. Highly recommended.

I've lived in my condo for more than 20 years and have never had my dryer vent cleaned. I'm getting ready to embark on some remodeling work in my laundry closet and decided that it was time to freshen up the infrastructure to be ready for the fresher look of the space. I did some research and Nick came up as a top-notch option on both Yelp and Google. That says a lot - to have consistently great reviews, over time, across both review platforms. He was pleasant to connect with to schedule the job and he was clear about pricing in advance. He showed up within the appointment window and quickly got to work. He kept me informed of his progress along the way - offering tips and tricks for things for me to consider. He was honest about what would or wouldn't be worthwhile in terms of my investment and showed me the difference of his work for the dryer vent cleaning. This was outstanding value for his impact from my perspective. And he even was friendly and allowed my Dad to ask questions to him while he worked. All in all, Nick is now MY washer and dryer guy for any needs I have in the future...and the reality is he should be yours, too!

He (a veteran so I was happy to support him!) responded, booked and got to my place quickly after 1st contact. He was respectful and diagnosed the issue quickly, thought it was another issue but when he came back to install and pulled the washer completely out, he realized it wasn't the issue & had the parts to put swap out some little motor which he said "This will be cheaper" and I always respect service providers who are honest. He could have easily installed the valves he originally thought the issue was and charged me for that AND told me about the other issue and fixed that and charged me more BUT he was honest and saved me some $ and fixed the issue!! I will always call him in the future!! He also helped to clean out the dryer vent as much as he could and recommended Firemen Dryer Man to clean out the rest - love that business and happy to give them my business.
