Alpha Granite in Kerrville has a gentleman that works the showroom named Jeff. His understanding of what a customer is looking for is outstanding. My wife and I decided to remodel the kitchen a few months ago. Finding the right counter person to deal with is a challenge so I started asking some builder friends of mine who they would recommend. Each one of them asked if I wanted it done right. Of course I said yes and they all proceeded to tell me to call Jeff at Alpha Granite. I am so glad we did. We have white cabinets and a taupe/grey floor. We knew we wanted to go with something dark. I was leaning to all black while my wife kept wanting to go with something in the browns. Jeff showed us a picture of a slab that was black with white in it.....amazing. He listened to what we wanted and found the perfect piece for us. I am so thankful that we took the advise of professional builders and went with someone that they use. The crew that came and measured and the crew that came to install were extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. There was one piece of back splash that was a little bit short and when we discovered it (which was about a week later since it was under an overhang) I brought it to Jeff's attention and he made it right. Sonia, I'm glad you took the time to respond because it motivated me to go back and find my email correspondence with A.G. and Home Depot. Looking back through the emails is a reminder of just how long this dragged on. We placed the order during the first week of December 2021. The final email closing out the issue is from July 2022. SIX MONTHS. The counter wasn't cut incorrectly once but twice! First too small and then too large and both with the wrong corner cut. Not to forget the two 1" to 2" chips in the counter that were poorly repaired before install. I can't speak to what happened afterwards. Maybe A.G. ultimately resolved everything before it reached legal. Maybe they managed to keep or regain their contract. What I can speak to is what I was told at the time. I knew someone inside Home Depot who helped me get this resolved, and the email in the attached image reflects exactly how the situation was presented to me. We recently worked with Alpha Granite for our kitchen project, and unfortunately, our overall experience was very disappointing. The biggest issue was the lack of communication throughout the process. It was extremely difficult to get updates or speak with anyone, and despite asking multiple times about the expected timeline, we were never informed that the project would be delayed by an additional two months. Had we known, we would have adjusted our move accordingly, as being without a functional kitchen for that long was very disruptive. There were also coordination issues between the template and installation teams. Our carpenter discussed specific details with the template technician, but when the installers arrived, they were unaware of those conversations. As a result, a piece was installed incorrectly and now our carpenter has to modify the cabinet, causing further delays and extra work. Even our pot filler is not centered, which is very noticeable and frustrating, especially after so many measurements were taken. In addition, when the installers cut the faucet holes, they used water and left our new cabinets wet and covered in stone residue. We didn't realize until a few days later, and it caused damage to our new cabinetry. This was very upsetting, especially since everything was newly installed. After investing a significant amount of money in our countertops and backsplash, we are very disappointed that the final result is not the way we wanted or expected. While the countertops may look nice at first glance, the overall process was stressful, disorganized, and unprofessional. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Alpha Granite. read more

I was a disgruntled customer of another stone manufacturer and was referred to Alpha to clean up the mess. Tracy was a real professional to work with. After retrieving my remnant from the "other company", she had measurements-taken for our guest bath, and the counter cut in a timely fashion. She always answered or returned my calls promptly and was very reassuring that the job would get done right. Alpha Granite was recommended to me by someone who uses them all the time in their business. I went there on appointment and selected the best countertop for the kitchen and bathroom vanities. I worked with Tracy and she did a great job. Instead of waiting a week or so for them to arrive and measure all the areas, Tracy was able to accept my measurements with photos and give me a great quote / price based off that. Everything went according to plan and the team removed the old counters, cleaned the area of debis, installed the new counters and left the place clean. I was very impressed with their work ethic AND the final product. We have new counters in the kitchen with a new sink (provided by Alpha Granite) and two new bathroom countertops and new sinks as well. read more

I went to Alpha Granite based on a recommendation and wasn't disappointed! We went in at our appointment time and picked the countertop style we wanted for our townhouse. To save time, we measured and took pictures of measurements to send in vs waiting a wee to get someone to measure. Once they had our measurements, they were able to determine cost (demo, laser templating and product). I was very pleased with the end result. It was easy to schedule appointments for the templating and when there, the gentleman took his time being accurate. Everything started great, the measurer was knowledgeable and Nina was very patient working on our block designs. But after that, it took much longer than the committed 2-3 weeks for the fabrication and installation -- twice! First for our kitchen and then for our bathroom. We are told that things are taking longer because of Covid, but that excuse is wearing thin when they are still quoting 2-3 weeks. The end result, though, is amazing. I had to deal with them through home depot. The lady who was in charge of scheduled me through the phone and didn't mark it in their calendar. They didn't show up on the appt time since they had a mix up. They tried to dismiss it as a "misunderstanding". I recited every word I spoke about from Alpha then they said sorry. That day I had to wait for them to figure out when they would show up. It took an entire they to rearrange my time for them to come in and measure. I called a day before the measure and left three voice messages and no one got back to me. They got back to me only when I threatened to cancel. Ashley from Home Depot told me that they said they massed up their schedule because I didn't confirm. They ruined our slab, but I'd use them again in a heartbeat and recommend anyone to place their trust in them. Why? Read on... We dumped a problem on Alpha Granite's lap. We purchased a slab and then found out after that our fabricator didn't have the precise laser guided CNC machines required to complete our kitchen and it's massive 11' island. Alpha Granite had just what we needed and even arranged to have the slabs brought over from our previous fabricator. Then came that fateful cut. Due to a misreading of the faded blueprint, they cut the island short, and that was the last piece of that particular batch of granite available. But the first words out of their mouth were "This was our fault and we'll make it right". Exactly what someone wants to hear when that happens. And they searched all the way to San Antonio trying to find the perfect match. Mistakes happen and it's what you do about it that matters. Ultimately they redid our *entire* kitchen to make sure it matched. Then they took it a step further and are back at the house adjusting their granite to cover up mistakes made by our cabinets vendors. They are literally fixing other people's mistakes at this point. It's not their fault, but they just keep saying "After what you've been through, we just want to make it right for you". And every time they say that (and followthrough) it warms my heart a little more. We've had the president of the company out to the house twice now, the last time to fix someone else's mistakes. Unlike the horror stories you hear all too often in the construction industry, Alpha Granite really seems to care about their (well deserved) reputation and do what it takes to make it right. Up front truth - I was compensated for my experience with Alpha Granite. ...that doesn't mean I wanted the compensation. What I want with any purchase in Austin is good, honest service. I was working directly with the owner, who puts his stamp on the culture at Alpha. I was given the run around for 7 days about my counter top. And the communication was simply unacceptable. Our counter was installed 10 days after promised and caused delays to the rest of our project. Let me explain to you how disappointed I am in my countertop insulation. I was told on on January 29th that there would be a rush on my countertops and shelves so the final install would be 10 days after this. I should have known better because my first install by Alpha was a month late. Still 22 days later nothing has been installed. I can't not get a loan until after they have installed because although everything else is done the home is not complete enough for the appraiser. I've paid the appraiser now 2 times to come back and tell me that. Also, if I would have known that your product was going to take this long I would have gotten the butcher block that I had my heart set on. Go with anyone else. Save yourself read more

I am delighted with Alpha Granite. I had a small potatoes job, so I was worried that a good granite company would be hard to pin down with a bid and time commitment for getting it done. Happily, Alpa agreed to let me hire their installers by the hour to come out, pull up my countertops and lay them aside, then come back when newer, smaller cabinets were ready and in place, recut the pieces smaller and polish the inner edges, and then reinstall the counters. And I also had them cut a larger hole in my other granite countertop for a larger, drop in sink. This was a perfect arrangement for both sides - they did not have to waste resources giving me a bid and I got the work done I needed to perfection and the arrangement felt very fair financially this way. The installers were good guys who were careful with their cuts and leveling. Everything came out just right granite wise - and I cannot say that with every other single aspect of our remodel!! Our experience just continued to get better because everyone we dealt with was very helpful and focused on quality. Worked through Alpha Granite in Kerrville however the counter tops are fabricated in Austin and the installers came from Austin as well. Poor quality granite with several chips and rough spots was installed and one of the back splashes was cut incorrectly. The installers forced it in under the window sills which caused the sill paint to crack. On top of that there is a large gap between the back splash and the wall that will have to have extensive caulking work done. Oh did I forget to mention that Alpha does not caulk the top of the back splashes? You will have to hire a separate person to do that but do not get informed of the fact prior to installation. I have a lot of experience with granite companies in Hawaii where I used to live and I have never seen this done. We went to the Austin showroom and picked out a gorgeous stone, and their template maker, Gabe, came to our home and did a wonderful job -- he had some great ideas for seam placement that make a huge improvement over our old countertops. When the time came for installation, the crew that came to our home was so friendly and knowledgeable! They did an amazing job tearing out the old counters and installing the new ones. Having gone through the process with both a local Silestone fabricator and a Caeserstone fabricator (which is what Alpha Granite is), I would never do Caeserstone again in an effort to avoid using this company. Their lack of communication is infuriating. They changed their installation time on their end without communicating it to me or the company I ordered through. And after changing the install time, they couldn't even make it to my house at the install time that they chose. If I redo this process, I would NOT use Alpha Granite. UPDATE: my contractor came over to hook up my faucets. He pointed out that the installer from Alpha Granite drilled faucet holes crooked. They were off by a whopping 1/2 inch! Luckily my contractor was able to "cheat" the faucet handles a bit to make it look even, but seriously?!? I can't believe I paid $1,700 for two small pieces of Quartz and this was my experience. We contracted Alpha Granite to install a porcelain overlay countertop. Alpha sent out one man to first remove our back splash and then measure for the template. The back splash removal created a complete fog of dust throughout my home - inside every kitchen cabinet, inside every room despite doors being closed. The man was horrified at what he had done and he tried to clean but this was an enormous mess. Photos of the inside of my cabinets are attached. I notified Jeff, my salesman from Kerrville, and got an "I'm sorry" - well that didn't help me with removing everything from all cabinets and wiping them down and even having to vacuum all my exposed rock walls in the house. My mistake was not insisting Jeff send out a professional cleaning crew. Next up after a couple of weeks was my install date on a Monday. So I contracted someone to come out on Sunday to remove my cooktop and sink. And then Monday morning, about an hour before they were due, Alpha calls to say they broke my countertop! So I have to call the contractor back to reinstall my appliances. Alpha gave me a new install date about a week later, so I hire the contractor again to remove and install the appliances - another $400 charge! Alpha sent 2 men to install at about 1pm. I was told by the Scheduler that it would take between 2 and 4 hours. They left my house at 10PM! AND barely cleaned anything. So another day of cleaning up after Alpha. More photos were sent to them showing the destruction they left behind. After my repeated calls and emails, I was only given $500 off the job - after paying an extra $400 to the contractor because of their mistake and spending days of cleaning. Alpha's contract is written entirely to protect them and not the customer - it does say there can be some dirt - but review these pictures and see if they fall under reasonable. Jeff never came out to survey the damages or even showed any remorse - apparently once you pay 50% down, Alpha just doesn't care about you! read more

I have never felt more unwelcome in a showroom before. I was sent by my contractor to look at samples to see if there was anything I might like in the construction of a new home. It appeared no one was particularly interested in acknowledging me at first. A gentleman asked if I were someone else and I advised that no i was not that person but was sent by my builder. He disappeared and then a female advised that I should contact someone in their Kerrville store and speak with him. I explained that there must have been a miscommunication as I was just looking to at their samples in the showroom to see if there was anything to my liking. She told me I would need to contact someone in Kerrville. I thought a showroom was for the purpose of looking around. Needless to say I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I chose Alpha Granite because of their ability to refinish the slabs I picked with a "leathered" texture. The staff was very professional in my home both in the measuring and installation and my countertops are gorgeous! They seem pretty meticulous dealing with uneven walls, matching seams and the mitered edges are amazing. The install date was a little longer than I had hoped but overall I have no regrets choosing Alpha Granite for our brand new home. read more

I don't know whether to praise or scream at them. I ordered two pieces of granite for a shower. I provided the templates. It took them much longer than expected to cut the small pieces and get them ready for the install (about 2 weeks) - they were backed up with orders. However, once I received the granite it was cut wrong and not according to the template. I had to take it back and the owner, Denis, was very nice about it saying they would re-do. I waited about 3 days, picked up the new cuts and they were wrong still. I took them back a second time and Denis brought out his manager and the guy who actually performed the work. The guy who performed the work admitted he didn't follow the templates. The owner and manager were clearly frustrated with him. They made them anew again and promised to deliver them to my house in way southwest Austin that night, which they did. They fit perfectly and I performed the install myself in less than an hour. They look great and I couldn't be more pleased. The entire staff at Alpha are very nice and easy to deal with. It was somewhat frustrating on the wait time and having to take the pieces back time and again to get them right. If you live north, I recommend them. If you life far south or west, probably not...just in case you have the same thing happen to you. read more

We did an extensive remodel of our house including the kitchen and master bath where we had granite installed. We used Alpha Granite for the bathroom installation because they had an enormous selection of remnant pieces to choose from. We showed up right before closing on a Saturday and Mark stayed past closing to show us all around their yard to find the right piece. So many places are not even open on Saturdays. Mark was prompt and responsive through the whole process of coming to the house for the estimate, answering our questions and following up on the work when it was done. We returned to their location 2 times in the process because we weren't sure about how the piece would look with our tile choice and Donna was very patient and helpful in reassuring us and helping us to get the not-so standard backsplash right. After already going through an arduous, incompetent, pulling teeth kind of process with the company that did the kitchen, Alpha Granite was a professional, courteous, prompt, responsive and reasonably priced sigh of relief. I wished we had used them for the whole house. read more

I spoke directly with the owner and am of the mindset that they do not want to work with or satisfy their customers. I would caution anyone thinking about using this firm to reconsider. read more

I have just had my broken granite table repaired by Alpha Granite and WOW what an amazing job they did for us. We have had this beautiful 7 X 4 foot table for 20 years and our movers broke it in half when me moved to our new home last October. We considered many options on what to do with the granite. Everyone had an option....I called and spoke with Chris who was very knowledgeable and said he felt they could make it look brand new and would brace it with rods so that it would be sturdy forever. Alpha was the fifth countertop company I called when searching for a company to install quartz countertops in my kitchen. It was a great experience right from the start! I knew the color I wanted after visiting a different company's showroom. I spoke to Todd who was able to give me pricing and asked me to send a rough drawing so he could send me a quote. He answered all my questions promptly and thoroughly. All of this was done over email, which made things really easy. We were happy with the estimate and service, so we had the guy come out and measure. He had all the equipment (vs just a tape measure like some companies) and did a thorough job measuring. The day of the install, the guys were prompt, courteous, and professional. If I didn't see them do the seams, I wouldn't know where they are! Today I arrived at Alpha unannounced with a very odd request. They were recommended to me by another granite company when they were unable to help me. I wanted to slice in half a rock the size of a volleyball. It has been in my family more than 50 years and the time had come to create something with the "family rock". They agreed to help, right then, right there and let me take photos as they cut it. They were so friendly and kind. They did an amazingly professional job in a highly unusual circumstance. I was doing this as a gift to my brother retiring from the military after 30 years. They were just as enthusiastic as I was. I would recommend them in a second. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Alpha Granite were the fabricators for Vetrazzo, As such, they installed our recycled glass countertop. It looked pretty good. Then, something went wrong. During cooking, a little lemon juice splashed on the countertop. No big deal, right? WRONG! You'd have thought we'd poured battery acid onto the counter by the look and feel of it. However, Vetrazzo's maintenance document assured that such damage was "easily repaired" by the fabricator. While the supervisor was there for the installation, we never saw him again. Not one of the men who came out to repair it had any knowledge of or experience with recycled glass. After 4 attempts to repair the countertop, each taking at least an hour, they had succeeded in doing nothing but making it worse. It became quite clear the countertop was not properly sealed in the first place. They then said they would have to remove the countertop completely, take it to their shop and it would take weeks and cost more than half the cost of the original countertop. Hardly the easy repair promised by Vetrazzo. Neither Vetrazzo nor Alpha Granite stood behind the product or their work. I would never use this company again. They are dishonest and disreputable. read more

Alpha Granite and my construction company worked together for many years. The finished product was always very nice. We did have delays in construction, difficult times communicating with the sales /scheduling staff. Many times the day before scheduled install we would find out they had some sort of problem in fabrication and would not be installing the counters or would install part of the counters. Plumbers then have to be rescheduled etc. The delays to construction cost money and frustrate home owners. Denis (owner) and I had multiple communications trying to understand why these issues kept happening. After the finger pointing was done, we gave them another chance. We tightened up our side of the documentation to insure the issues were not on our side. The final job was once again delayed. We decided to move on to a different counter top company. If time is not important to you, then Alpha will eventually get the job done! read more

She was so patient, even after I decided to change what I picked (prior to them starting to cut). Without a doubt, I would use their services again. I've hesitated to write a review -- I don't normally do this but I have never been so unhappy with a purchase decision. We had new countertops installed in December. A lot of very poor communication about the length of time to fabricate, etc. and my install date go pushed out which messed up my contractor which meant kitchen was not finished for the holidays. But fine. It happens. I wasn't home when they installed. When I got back, I noticed a big gap between the new counter and the top of the actual cabinet. The installer (who was actually very nice and worked his butt off to make the pieces fit since they were not cut properly) didn't realize that a piece of plywood had been left behind from the old counter. He installed over it and the /4 inch plywood was visible. The owner came out, we had a nice talk and I said I would accept the issue even though I didn't like it. I had our contractor cover with a piece of trim that matched the cabinet. Still don't like it but that was my decision. Now the kicker. The countertops we selected were called Stone peak. They were beautiful in the show room and we were told they were absolutely stain proof. They did mention that one customer had a tiny chip but it was because of a very odd circumstance where one of their corners was bumped at just the right angle that is caused a chip. They told us there have not been any other problems and the counters have been installed in many, many kitchens. So four months later.... four chips. All of them from minor bumping and stains and marks that I cannot remove. This material is not suitable for kitchen countertops. It looks like Alpha has removed the product from their web site but my kitchen designer has been trying to talk to the owner and can't get a call back. We spent $6k on these countertops and they have to be completed replaced. Not to mention, replacing them will mean that the backsplash will have to be redone. I do not recommend Alpha Granite. read more

My countertops were chipped and they said it was there trade standard. Don't get me started on who they sent to do the tile installation. It all had to be removed and redone. I visited Alpha today in search of a remnant piece of granite. On my drive there I spotted another Granite store and I pulled over before going to Alpha just to have a good price comparison. I got more than a price comparison. At the store I visited before alpha the salesman was put out by my lack of budget and my need to look at the remnant pieces. He didn't seem to take any interest in the fact that I am building a classroom in order to train traffic survivors into a trade. He didn't seem interested at all I guess my budget wasn't big enough for his time. When I arrived at Alpha I was greeted with a beautiful smile and offered water or any kind of beverage I would like from their fridge. They knew I was coming to look at the granite graveyard, but they still treated me as if I were their best customer. Ian was so attentive to my needs running inside and outside getting answers to every question I had pointing me in the right direction and even going out on a limb to try and find me the best deal they could give me since I was working with such a small budget being a nonprofit. I cannot wait for the day when my budget expands and I have another building project just so that I can go back to Alpha granite and give them more business I highly recommend them their sales team were incredible, their show room was beautiful, and they even donated the slab to our organization! I hope you will go to the business and give them the support they deserve. I will be talking about them for a VERY long time! read more

Beware of this company , they do not stand behind their work. We had granite counter tops installed by this company and it looked great. It was not until our dishwasher went out that we noticed a crack in the granite above the dishwasher. upon closer examination we noticed that it was actually a cut that you can clearly see is all the way thru the granite and they filled it to with some type of putty to try to hide the fact that they miss cut the piece of granite. We called Dennis who is the owner and he said that he only offers a 1 year warranty. We never received any kind of written or verbal warranty stating this. We feel that this is not a warranty issue it is a issue of them trying to cover up their mistake. I am sure that he probably figured that it would be out of warranty by the time that we found it. He then said the only thing he will do is come and fill it and buff it again like they did the first time, but that we would have to pay $80. per hour for it. We asked how long it would take and he said he didn't know it would take as long as it takes. I would never recommend this company to anyone. For your own sake seek another company. read more
