Sorry to say I now believe that the negative reviews for Alpha Air are most probably true. Five years ago, this company used to be very good with communication because of Terry, their front office lady. After she left them for whatever reasons, getting somebody to pick up the phone or respond back to leaving a voice message can be hit or miss, especially during the busier summer months. Don't waste your money to buy their extended warranty because Alpha Air won't be there for you when you really need them for that expensive covered repair job. My AC died during a 100+ degree day, and I called Alpha Air several times and left a message but no answer. I finally decided to just call another AC company that came the same day to fix the problem, but of course, I had to pay out of pocket instead of being able to use the pre-paid warranty. I also had a sick, elderly parent suffering in a sweltering house so I wasn't going to wait for an unreliable company that didn't pick up their phone and will likely just say that they never got my phone call or voice message or that there was a glitch in their system. Alpha Air can do the job well if/when they want to show up so I give them one star for that and one star for Terry who no longer works for them. Based on my recent experience, however, I won't be using Alpha Air anymore and wish we had never paid for their useless extended warranty. They got their extra profit back then, but lost a long-term customer as of now. Businesses that truly deserve all their positive reviews have consistently excellent communication/customer service so they don't have to give after the fact excuses or apologetic explanations. read more

Apparently Alpha Air is either under new management or the owner has simply abandoned Customer Service for avenues of greater profitability. Although my initial impressions of Alpha Air were quite positive following an entire system upgrade, their Customer Service these past two years leaves a great deal to be desired. Following last fall's routine maintenance visit, their Technician subsequently emailed a copy of my check, including my entire Checking Account # !!! When I inquired with their office why my personal financial data was so recklessly exposed on an unsecured internet site for the entire world to see, their excuse was a "glitch in the system." This past April 27th; routine maintenance was scheduled for between 9:00 - 11:00 AM. I sat here for three (3) hours waiting, the Technician never showed nor did anyone from their office bother to contact me and inform of the delinquency. When I called their office for an explanation, their excuse was a "glitch in the system and the Technician never saw it." That evening I forwarded an email to Alpha Air explaining my dissatisfaction with their unacceptable modus operandi and asked that they refund the balance on my Gold Membership for scheduled maintenance. I received an auto reply that they received my message and someone would "respond as promptly as possible." Never received a response. When I finally reached their office several days later to inquire about my correspondence and the lack of a response, I was told they never saw it due to yet another "glitch in the system." Obviously Alpha Air has numerous "glitches in their system" including ineptness and utter incompetence. I will not be using their services any further nor will I in good conscience recommend them to any friends or neighbors. read more

I experienced an AC emergency one morning last week. I live in Las Vegas where reliable AC function is critical in the hot weather months. I contacted Alpha Air and the owner came to the house the same day! He was able to diagnose the issue very quickly (damper in attic wasn't opening) and fixed the problem within less than 30 minutes. Called Alpha Air because they were the company that installed my HVAC system 7 years ago and I was very satisfied with that. Moving forward, my A/C needed repair as it was not working at all. They came out during regular business hours the next day and although it took Matt a few hours to diagnose the problem, I appreciated the thoroughness. He fixed the problem, a burned out contactor. The part was covered under the factory warranty. It took him approximately 40 min to replace the part. After the service was complete, the labor charge was $250/hour X 2 hours of labor. After some negotiation, they reduced it to one hour, however, from my research the usual and customary labor fee in Las Vegas is $75-150/hour. I was going to sign up for their biannual plan for cleaning and maintenance of HVAC but , heaven forbid they find something wrong, I can't afford the labor that would go along with the repair! I feel that while Alpha Air is a good company, their labor fees are extraordinarily high. I hope to find a more reasonable company for future use. read more

Disappointed I scheduled a general service and asked what it entailed. I was told a general check up, cleaning of the drains and outside unit and a few other things. The tech came out and took pictures of everything and told me none of those services could be done because they are done in March April (prior to summer). So either the Yelp scheduler lied or the tech didn't feel like doing the job. So visit was about 15 min, pictures were taken and no maintenance was done. read more

Personal, quick to schedule. Came promptly to look at what was happening with my humidifier. He told me within the first 5 minutes of listening to me explain the problem with my humidifier that he would likely be unable to help, due to how a different contractor installed my system. That contractor is long gone and not in existence anymore so I need SOMEONE to fix my system. The humidifier works, just a sail switch is not working and apparently needs to be replaced. I confirmed this myself by bypassing the safety and wiring it directly, and the humidifier works when I do this. So the humidifier itself does work. I explained all of this in my Yelp request and my phone call with the company, and they still scheduled a tech to come out, which ended up being a waste of my time and his, since he was unable to do anything and did not even want to try to do anything. He was unfamiliar with the setup and how it was wired and didn't want to make anything worse. I appreciate the fact that I was not charged anything and that he was able to recognize that he was not qualified to work on this type of setup. My frustration is my wasted time, when he could have reached that same conclusion over the phone when I described the problem initially. It didn't require him to look at anything before he said "I can't help you," all he did was listen to my explanation and he reached that conclusion. That could have been a phone call. Otherwise I appreciated the professionalism and the prompt response. I'm sure they are a good company with more basic/common HVAC repairs. read more

We had them replace our condenser and furnace on August 1, 2019 and our condenser just went out. We tried turning our AC on on Friday and it would not start. We tried calling Alpha to see if they can come out and check it out and no response. We left a message and nothing. So we called other AC companies to come out and check it out. Long story short, we had to buy a new outside condenser. What makes me mad is that the unit condenser was 5 years old from Alpha and had supposedly a 10 year warranty, and is now getting replaced. Didn't even think about the warranty, if they would have answered the phone and came out to checked it out, maybe, I would be spending less. Their lack of communication has cost me lots of money, so I would highly recommend not to go with them for they are liers about their products and their communication is no good. I'm just going to recommend people if they don't answer go to trane.com/ warranty and add your serial number to see if it's still warrantied and call the 1-800 number. I think they will send someone else out to check it out. read more

I used Alpha Air years ago for a simple repair concerning the electrical starter on my unit. They were fantastic back then, but something has definitely changed. I recently called them because the intake on my roof was shredded, leaking hot air all over the place wasting money. I advised the person on the phone that the unit is near the end of its life, but it works fine. I also told them I am not currently in the market to replace it and just need the simple repair done. They sent the technician Andrei to check out the unit. Andrei proceeded to tell us how the repair isn't worth it, the unit is so old, and we just need to replace it. The work involved is way too much for an old unit like ours, Andrei said. I received three quotes from Alpha Air, the lowest for over $11k. Every single one was for a new unit. Alpha Air obviously did not care about my needs and only wanted to use me to earn a fat commission on a brand new unit installation. I called a second company to check out the unit and the repair. I explained everything the same way I explained it to Alpha Air. The second company fixed it in 20 minutes and for under $200. When I upgrade my unit and ducts in a couple years, I definitely will not be providing Alpha Air with my business. Very important. If you have no idea what you're doing like me, DEFINITELY GO WITH ALPHA AIR. They are super trustworthy and honest!!! Super easy to rip me off and yet they didn't. I APPRECIATE YOU!!! So yes, they are fantastic. On top of being recommended to me by a very close friend of mine, they have an emergency line that is available 24/7. We very recently moved into our house and suddenly our AC stopped blowing cold air. At the top of July. In Las Vegas where temperatures were reaching over 110°F. We noticed the house getting suuuper hot throughout the day and late at night around 10pm only warm air was blowing out of the system. Was able to call their emergency number and get set up with an emergency appointment first thing in the morning so we don't die! They were incredible as far as diagnosing what the issue was and helping us get our HVAC up and running again. SO. Turns out the poor lady that owned this house before us was swindled. We found out after Alpha Air took everything apart to install a brand new HVAC system that the one installed was literally Frankenstein-ed out of gross old and junked parts. The guys from Alpha Air has never seen that before either but it explained why ALL of the parts with serial numbers were all scratched out. No one would have ever really noticed it until they rip the entire HVAC system out to redo it which is how whoever did that got away with it as most people would just look at the system outside but never see the parts in the attic. Poor Alpha Air had to rip everything apart and install a completely brand new system. They were super good and super fast at their job. They are extremely honest and kept us 100% informed the entire way through. It doesn't stop there either. After installing they came back to make adjustments and check on the system and upkeep as needed. Super helpful since I have no idea what I'm doing and when to do it. Right before winter season rolled around they got in touch with us again to come back and double check the furnace to make sure everything works perfectly in time for winter since it's a new system. They are SO detail oriented and efficient! They keep such good track of their customers and the upkeep/maintenance! read more

Amazing! I can usually troubleshoot what the problem is, but would rather have a professional for some bigger items. I have been having on and off problems with my furnace for two or so years. Because of this, I have called a handful of other HVAC companies out, they can fix my "at the time problem", and I tell them what else it does, or doesn't do, what other weird hiccups my system has. NONE OF THEM have been able to help out or fix the problem. Yesterday, my heat went out. I tried the things I knew to get it working, and it wasn't firing up anymore. That's it, I have to call someone. I searched Yelp, and sent requests to a few service companies. Not only was Alpha Air one of the first ones to respond, they said they could still come THAT NIGHT! Artur was the technician that came out to my house, that same night! He was one of the most prepared technicians I have ever seen, with all the tools and parts he had with him, right away. He fixed my problem, and got my furnace up and running again. But on top of that, he is THE ONLY technician I have had, that actually listened about my other problems and hiccups my system had, and still went above and beyond to help diagnose and troubleshoot my system further. Let me tell you about Alpha Air and how wonderful this company has been with us. I originally contacted Alpha Air last year and they came for a maintenance on two 5 ton units. The tech that came was very honest and we were already aware that the A/C units were not doing well. We had also purchased an extended homeowner's coverage that would pay for any equipment belonging to the home. Fast forward to this year, the A/C units broke down during the first week of scorching heat in Las Vegas. I filed a claim and since my units could not be repaired, the insurance company covered the entire replacement of the units. The claims adjuster communicated with the owner of Alpha Air and our claim was approved. Not only did the owner offer to place portable A/C units in the home while we waited for the insurance company to pay, they went ahead and scheduled the next day to do the job. The first tech came first thing in the morning and the lead coordinated the entire crew and schedule. Replacing an entire system is an almost all day job! (They installed Trane) They worked nonstop to get everything out and replaced quickly. The house temperature read at 95 degrees, so just imagine how hot in was in the attic and outside. The insurance company took almost 3 weeks to get the payment situated and the owner of Alpha Air was so patient with us and the situation. Never once did he get frustrated or upset and we all had this huge stressor on our back. I was finally able to hand over the full payment and my family is thankful for Alpha Air's compassionate care.
