My friends and I arrived at Jack Spray after it was closed but the gentleman working allowed us in and let us order rose! It was such a nice gesture and created a fun memory for my friends as I as we were visiting Alaska on vacation! The rose was great and the atmosphere made it all the more magical. It was the perfect stop for a quick drink before exploring more of Girdwood. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the Girdwood area! read more

This cute little cafe is a must stop for coffee or breakfast if you're passing through Girdwood. The homemade chai was so tasty, and just look at the color of the lox on that bagel!! There are also tons of locals with their friendly dogs to play with while you enjoy your coffee. read more

Super cute café in beautiful setting. All of Girdwood is charming and Alpenglow coffee house is no exception. Service was very welcoming and sweet - both ladies at the counter answered my many questions with the patience of saints. I had the house made chai latte with soy for my lactose sensitive belly I was told they grind and brew the chai tea base themselves - and if you like a more spicy chai (which I do), this is gonna be your cup of tea. I also had the breakfast croissant - it has Canadian bacon, eggs, cheese, and spinach. It was good and the croissant was nice and flaky. My favorite was the chai and the art on the walls - oil on canvas original art with scenes of the night sky and aurora borealis. I should have noted the artist's name, that's my bad. If I was a rich girl, I would have bought one. But it is what it is. Anyway, go check this cozy place out if you're in Girdwood! read more

Great little spot with good coffee, food, and friendly service. My vanilla latte was spot on and since there was a breakfast burrito on the menu I had to try it. Came panini style with fresh ingredients, potatoes, eggs, very light on cheese (was there any?) and just the right amount of heat - I didn't need any salsa, but tried the salsa which seems homemade and was also very good. They open at 7, an hour before the Bake House around the corner, which as an early riser hooked. Nice dining area inside and pleasant atmosphere. I was greeted by a very nice server with a big, welcoming smile, and although I changed my order halfway through to add the burrito, she didn't miss a beat. This would be a regular stop for me if it wasn't 3500 miles from my home. read more

Great breakfast burrito and lavender latte. Got the bigger burrito which is not that big but good, with chorizo. Lavender was excellent. Location is cool, right by the mountain and lots of space inside. read more

This is a delightful venue. On the morning of the Girdwood half and full marathon I searched "coffee" and this showed up just a .3 mile walk from the Day Lodge. I hoofed it in over to discover a delightful wooden walk up and a tastefully decorated interior with some nice green plants and local artwork. The coffee was very balanced and smooth. The croissant sandwich, tasty. Service was professional, but not very friendly. Great natural light. read more

Super cute little cafe we stopped in while camping for the weekend. Very clean, spacious, and inviting space. We have two little boys with us so we ate outside because they can get rowdy. There was a corner that has games that you can play as well. The arts on the wall are local artists. We got a matcha green tea and drip coffee as far as drink. Tea didn't taste water down. Bought a breakfast burrito, the savory breakfast good they have out on the counter and a berry scones. All were tasty; burrito was on the smaller size. It did take them a little bit to make everything but we weren't in a hurry. The girl at the counter was pleasant. Everything came out to be $30. We enjoyed visiting, would recommend and will come back. read more

This is the type of place you go to primarily for the location and ambiance. It's located in Girdwood, right next to Jack Sprat. The building is a beautiful, rustic A-frame bursting with cozy hygge energy! The building is staffed by equally beautiful people. The coffee is pretty good too! There are a couple small tables in the back to hang out or fire off a quick email. The space is probably too small to stay for long though. My only critique is that I wish they had more substantial snacks. What they have is pretty bare-bones. This is mostly a coffee-only shop. read more

This spot is really cute. It's a little A frame cabin set in the area of Alyeska resort where the Sitzmark & bake shop are located. It's across the road from Jack Sprat. They have a nice little outdoor seating deck, and ample seating space inside. They also have a few beers on tap as well as wine on top of being a coffee shop. I stopped to buy a drink on my walk to slush cup. I ordered a matcha latte. Unfortunately, my drink was terrible. There was huge chunks of matcha powder, and it was quite unpleasant drinking warmed up milk with chunks of matcha powder in it. Matcha when it concentrated is quite bitter which is why the powder needs to be efficiently mixed before being added into a beverage. They had a steady line of 3-5 people going, but the cafe wasn't packed. Not sure if that was more rush than they're used to, but I definitely can't recommend their tea based drinks. read more

Would recommend a pop in here to grab a coffee to warm up and perk up after a day on the mountain or before you hit the lifts read more

It's a cute little coffee shop that we were excited to try. The service was not good at all, the girl working the front seemed annoyed that we were even there and gave us a face whenever we asked questions. We ordered their breakfast egg frittata and it was really yummy but the grapes they gave us with it were completely molded on the ends. The lattes we ordered were completely watery and terrible for the high price point. read more
