A photo of the latte. Half full.

As Alaskan residents we come to Whittier often. Always can count on the salmon spread and bagel to be delicious. However the coffee was disgusting. Tasted like water down latte vanilla flavor, I ordered a quad shot breve heavy with vanilla. Sounds complicated. It's not. Just like heavy whipping cream/vs half and half. It was so terrible. To top it off all three were half full! 37$ for maybe 1 full coffee that you could get better from a gas station for cheaper. . I'm not interested in coming back. Although they stay in business due to lack of other options, and their charters. Sucks that is what is being put out as an Alaskan representation. Oh how I love my Kaladi brothers, I will never stray again.

The Blackstone Glacier Cruise Half-Day Excursion was probably the highlight of our trip to Alaska. Admittedly, it's an easy win: cruise in a small (but comfortable) boat in protected waters to look at birds and glaciers. Plus, taking a tour in a boat with a 2-foot draft and a ramp means you can go just about anywhere. LOC co-owner Cap'n Mike ensured it was a great day at sea with a welcoming attitude and lots of info on Prince William Sound. It's pretty clear he tailors this to each group; we got a lot on the Exxon Valdez oil spill, but I'm sure groups with other interests would've gotten more on, say, the flora and fauna. Plus, the salmon spread really is good.

Our trip with Lazy Otter Charters was simply amazing. Captain Ben and First Mate Jake were welcoming, personable, knowledgeable, and ideal guides throughout the Prince William Sound. We saw otters, humpback whales, sea lions, puffins, and too many bald eagles to count! Captain Ben's marine biology background and how he mixed his knowledge with his humor made this the most informative and enjoyable tour we've been on in Alaska. 100% recommend, if you plan on visiting Alaska/Whittier Lazy Otter is an absolute must.

This was an amazing tour to say the least. I personally believe it was mostly due to the boat pilot, Ben, and his assistant, Stephanie. They were both terrific. The tour was out of Whittier, Alaska, a remote and small city on the south end of the state. Population of Whittier... 210 . That's right 210 residents. To get there you drive the western coast line of Anchorage sights alone were spectacular. Now getting into Whittier is interesting. You drive a one lane road through a tunnel which goes through a mountain. The tunnel is open for 30 minutes each way. Once in Whittier it's just a couple of minutes to the boat. Starts with Ben giving the do's and don't and some safety tips. Then off we went. Ben was so knowledgeable about the glaciers, wild life, and the waters. He even entertained a couple of little girls while their parents went out on the deck. I'll speak to that later. Ben brought our boat right up to a glacier and we were able to see the glacier calf, which means large chunks of snow falling into the sea. He took us to a float with about a dozen seas lions, and to see an otter floating. Stephanie was very engaging and easy to talk with. Told us all about Whittier, where she lives, good and bad. We got off the boat at a beach and saw a ship wreck. Free coffee and cookies for all too. Oh Ben even gave some scientific information about glaciers. I know I'm going on and on but it really was a 5 Star tour and I highly highly recommend it if you are in Alaska. So the tour ends, we're back in Port and everyone starts getting off. NOT ONE OF THOSE PASSENGERS GAVE A TIP. Well I did but it was upsetting to see people just run off the boat without dropping a couple of bucks to the tour guides. If you're in Anchorage take this tour but don't forget to tip.

I went on Lazy Otters as a work trip. We were on a smaller boat with about 15 people who were not with our group. We prearranged for Lazy Otters to provide boxed lunches for us, sandwiches with chips and a drink. I've only been on the larger boats out of Whitter before, I highly recommend trying out Lazy Otters! I felt the tour was way more personalized. We had some extra time and they took us over to a beach to explore for a little bit. The trip was so much more personalized. The captain took anyones photo with the best lighting of the glacier. Such an amazing trip and amazing staff!

Such a fun day! To start, the cafe had great lattes. They have huge espresso machine and maybe 10 syrup flavors. For the tour, we did the sightseeing tour of Blackstone Glacier. They provided lunch which was a sandwich boxed lunch and was decent. The tour was super cool! It took about 4.5 hours and we saw two huge glaciers and a waterfall. Unfortunately, not too much wildlife to be seen on our day, but we did see a few otters from far away. Our boat dropped off two groups of people at campsites before we started to head towards the sites.

    Friendly service and yummy eats!

This review is only for the Lazy Otter Cafe. We had some time to chill before our Phillips Cruises and Tours down the road. We came in here for some of their "world famous" salmon spread bagel, coffee, and a roast beef sandwich. Everything was delicious and we got to enjoyed it in the back with perfect weather and view. Being a tourist town, the price was actually affordable. I wish I can eat more of that salmon spread bagel, I did not find anything else like it the rest of our Alaska trip.

Yelp 100 Challenge 2017 # 55/100 Took my brother and his wife to see the glacier only to be told that it has receded so much that you have to take a boat ride or go kayaking to be able to see it. Hmm commercialization? We found ourselves with nothing to do but check out these little shops lining the docks I have no recollection of since my last visit 15 years ago. So on a cloudy and chilly Alaskan summer we got shakes, iced Americano, and blended mocha drinks from this cute little cafe that also offer boat rides, kayaking and such. The drinks were good and the view of the melting ice creating rivulets down the mountains was awesome. Clean restroom and excellent service with the warm Alaskan hospitality rounds up this review to a solid 4 stars.

She said that they were a family and gave it to them, I said I had a reservation she replied but they are a family. The moral/ ethical thing to do would have said to them I am sorry I have a commitment to a man that reserved that spot weeks ago and need to give to him. At this point the husband came in he was no help for me I was getting screwed. During this conversation she opened her reservation book and referred to a large sticky note with all my reservation and contact information. What kind of a business is this? Unexpectedly, we ended up being the only guests as others had backed out. We started out of Seward with a nice trip from Anchorage with Joan and Jeff as our shuttle team. They were both very personable and a pleasure to make the trip with to Seward. We were greeted with champagne and quickly got underway. Our accommodations were exactly as described in the Master suite. After two days of being wined and dined, we finally had to say, the "food is amazing, but we don't eat this much in a day. We need to slow down on the amount" LOL Certainly all you could possibly eat and nicely prepared. En En set beautiful tables for every meal and and our wine glasses were never dry. The weather was not the best for the first few days, so with everyone's agreement, we decided to roll the dice and cross the Gulf of Alaska to head towards Whittier. At that point, the weather became amazing, we did kayaking and had a 13,000 year old cocktail (Bourbon on Glacier ice). Who knew we would go to Alaska to get a tan? We spent the entire time cruising out on the deck getting sun. Captain Al and his team were wonderful hosts. I guess I could address every complaint that has been posted, but I'm not going to give it much credibility by spending any time on it. Yes, the boat is not brand new, but we had no issues on board (except the battery, but that's a little joke between Captain Al and us.). I can't speak to any of the other accommodations because we did not see or use them, but there were absolutely no complaints with ours. We are already considering the possibility of taking friends and going again some time. Thanks for everything Captain Al, En En and Christian! It was the trip of a lifetime! Thanks for being a part of it! Lori and Bob
