All previous Yelpers did a great job of explaining the tour in detail. We got to take this tour on the sunniest day, after weeks of persistent rainy conditions. It was pristine. The views were breathtaking and the amount of time we were on the ocean was perfect. Had a slight hiccup trying to catch up to the group and avoid skiff/boat waves while ALSO not being fully comfortable on my machine. I needed to come to terms with the fact that, there was nothing I could do to make the jet ski flip me into the open ocean. By the time we were headed back to shore, I was fully comfortable to grab that clutch like I fucking meant it and it was my very first time on a jet ski btw. Proud of me. Hubs' was too. Honorable mention, GJSA has the cleanest porta-potty's I've ever had to use. Much appreciation. We assumed this tour was similar to charter boats when it came to tipping. We gave $20 each to our guides. Highly recommend taking this tour whether you are a tourist or a local. read more

Congratulations, you have single handedly ruined any future glacier trips for us. Why would I want to hike, fly over, or even think of getting on some ship with tons of people to see a glacier. THIS is the way to see glaciers. I'm still in awe! Dani, Ash, and Mason were the most amazing tour guides. We definitely had some speed happening and I felt entirely safe with myself and two teenagers (I guess hubby too). The instructions were smooth and not excessive. There's a lot of gear and I don't like "stuff" on me, however, I was warm and completely comfortable. The views, I just can't do justice in describing. They took great pics for us and gave us ample time to take our own. Let me just say it is not easy to impress teenagers, especially ours, who have now been in 48 states. They said it has been the best part of the trip and they were surprised at just how much they loved it. That's a huge statement from these two. If you can do it you MUST do it! We live in Alaska but realized we haven't really been doing Alaskan-y things. Booked this to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary early and both my husband myself were excited but nervous to go. It's been 20 plus years since I've driven a jet ski and about the same since I've been through the Whittier tunnel (husbands never been). Before you go, they send you an email with very detailed instructions on what to wear, where to drive and park. Even though we were incredibly lucky to go on a sunny and windless day- we were long johns/leggings, pants, long sleeve thermal, T-shirt and sweatshirt and were comfortable. One of the bays we went into I even thought I could've dressed warmer. Both guides were so friendly and helpful and explained how to do everything in great detail and showed you at the same time. From putting on your dry suit to turning on/driving the jet skis I felt comfortable. The jet skis are new and have heated handle bars, fit 3 people (we each had our own) and won't tip over. Easy to drive. Going out on the water we started out slower but eventually went up to 65mph (I went 55mph) which we'd never thought we'd do. They drive in front and behind you so no one is left behind. They take a bunch of pictures for you and airdrop them after the tour which is awesome- however you can bring your phone (I'd recommend a waterproof case/bag) and you can put it in a compartment in the jet ski. The whole experience was amazing, definitely worth the $$, I'm shocked we haven't done something like this before. I believe you can book up to 6 people (unless you double up (I wouldn't recommended), but grab your friends and go! We're already talking about sending my husband back on a guys trip this summer. read more

My husband and I took our first trip to Alaska at the beginning of July. This was the first excursion we had booked, and we were really looking forward to it. After reviewing the many ways to see glaciers in Alaska - plane, train, on foot, cruises, and kayaks - we figured this would be by far the coolest. Was it ever! This tour exceeded even our highest of expectations. The representative we booked with was pleasant, gave us all of the information we needed to be properly dressed and make it through the Whittier Tunnel at the right time. Our tour guides were fun, friendly, and made sure everyone felt comfortable riding the machines. The tour itself was a blast! Sixty miles around Whittier Harbor and Blackstone Bay going 40-50mph, getting closer to Blackstone Glacier than we were able to any other glacier we saw during the week we were in AK. It was a perfectly gorgeous day and we were able to ride without gloves and hold a piece of glacial sea ice (it was like holding a piece of time - and so pretty!). Amazing views, interesting facts, and a super fun way to play on the water. We got tons of amazing pictures and had a fantastic afternoon. Worth every single penny. Definitely a highlight of our trip, and something we'll make sure to do again if we ever get the chance. Thank you! read more

They were fun to be around, very knowledgeable of the area and the wildlife, and took us to really beautiful places. They hyped everyone up, and they took tons of photos of me and my husband on their phones because we didn't bring one. Sadly enough, it is rare that you find a place that is [without question] worth five stars. Glacier Jet Ski Adventures (GJSA) is one of those places that offers an unequivocal five-star experience. Operating out of a small, unassuming shelter along one of Whittier's backstreets, you can find the owner, Charlie and his team preparing their jet skis for a tour. If I counted correctly, they have eight total machines and take at least four on each tour, including two guides...one in the front leading the way, and one in the back making sure everyone is doing well, keeping distance and having a great time. Charlie and Riley were our guides and were excellent from start to finish! When we arrived, they were friendly and inviting. After introducing ourselves we signed waivers and started getting fitted for the dry suits. You can change in the area with the chairs or if you need more privacy you can change in the back area where they hold the equipment. Both Charlie and Riley gave us detailed instructions on how to don the suits to improve efficiency and to also make sure we didn't damage any of their equipment. After getting suited up we had a few complementary snack, took a final bathroom break and loaded into their vehicles to head to the boat ramp. Once at the boat ramp Charlie and Riley unloaded the machines, brought them over to the bay edge where we were standing and thoroughly explained how to operate the jet skis, expectations from each guest, contingencies and emergencies. We loaded up and were moving through the PWS at 30-50mph in no time. Charlie and Riley did not pressure anyone to operate a machine beyond their comfort level - we just happened to all be comfortable operating the machines at those speeds - especially in the calm waters that day. We made our first stop at Decision Point (~10-15 minutes of riding from Whittier) while Charlie and Riley checked on each of the guests to make sure everything was good to go. From there we proceeded along the coastline to Blackstone Bay to see Blackstone Glacier, then onward to Beloit Glacier. We then rode the eastern coast of Blackstone Bay back to Decision Point, then on to Whittier from there. I did not wear a watch during the tour, but total time was somewhere around 3 hours. It was your standard Whittier day...mid-50s and light rain. I typically run a little warm and was fine with light long-johns and a thin top under my suit, but I did get a little chilly near the glaciers. Other guests wore sweats and jackets under their suits and were fine. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience! Whether you live here or are visiting, it is well worth the time, money and energy! read more

Booked as a birthday surprise for my wife. We live and play in Alaska and had just recently heard about the jet ski trip out of Whittier. I could not be happier with the way the trip turned out! It was honestly way better then I expected, and I expected to have alot of fun! Charlie did a great job of making sure everyone was comfortable using the machines which allowed my wife to just enjoy the trip rather then worring about the machine the whole time. You will not get closer to the glaciers then you will on this trip. We were as close to the glacier as you can safely get looking back at all the other user groups. The machines are VERY guiet and they allow you to actually feel as if you're part of your surroundings as opposed to being on some huge boat removed from the setting. My only regret concerning this trip is I didn't take my friends that have visited me in the past on it!!!! LOCAL OR TOURIST THIS TRIP IS A MUST read more

I had an amazing time, I fell off of a jetski before and said I would never go back on one. My boyfriend really wanted to go. So I gave in. I was scared shitless! I thought this tour would be fun, I had no idea it would be amazing! My friend visiting from NYC was the inspiration for the adventure, and he was also impressed. The tour guide made me feel completely safe and comfortable as an inexperienced jet ski driver, had all the needed gear including a heated vest! He took every step to make sure we were safe, comfortable, and having fun. There is nothing like zipping around glacial ice and cruising around Prince William Sound on top of the water. It is a humbling experience, staring at the glaciers in Blackstone Bay from a personal water craft. The jet skis are Eco-friendly and therefore much more quiet than you might expect. You will not be sorry if you go on this trip. As a local, I encourage all my neighbors to go do this - and definitely take your visitors! read more
