This review of Alonzo decking and Alonzo and his son who also helps his dad install this mess, has been long overdue. We met Alonzo a few years back at the pomona fairplex, while selling his product. We ended up paying $20,0000 for this mess! We tried over & over to get our calls returned, to no avail ignored. He called back one time & said $17,000 to bust it all up and do over! This man is nothing but a scam artist! He knows his product is bad and is still out there selling it to his next victim. He has the audacity to still have pics of my home on his website like he did a great job. We are miserable how he left our home. As of yesterday, I have sought legal counsel to go after this man. read more

In February of 2021, I assisted my friend with locating a company to cover a horrible stamped concrete job on his large back patio and around his pool. I located Alonzo Decking on Yelp, and they responded for an estimate. After getting the estimate, my friend hired them. The job was around 2000 square feet and included a two-toned pebble overlay. The work was professional, efficient, and the final product looked amazing. Alonzo Decking did a really great job. It looks even more like a resort now. Here's the problem: I have reached out to Alonzo Decking several times, but they either do not respond or the mailbox is full. I hope they are okay. If they ever call me back, I look forward to doing some work at my own residence. read more

Update: I like another review have tried reaching out and have not had our VM's returned, I hope everything is all right. After the fires we had a lot of discoloration on our new stone patio and we were hoping for help on how to correct the color and reseal, no response. Prior Review: What an amazing experience. From our first appointment through the full installation we were fully informed and impressed. We had cracked and broken concrete and pool coping and Alonzo Decking had the best solution at an great price. See our before and after pictures, truly incredible and in only three days. read more

Paul is a pleasure to work with. He communicates well and is trust worthy. He helped transform my patio into a functional space and made it my favorite space to hangout and work. He'a highly recommended and I will definitely get his services for the next phase of my backyard project. read more

Had a great experience with Joe of Alonzo Deck Resurfacing. My mother is wheelchair bound and loves to sit outside on her cement patio. The issue we had was overtime the concrete had developed cracks and was unsightly. Another family member had used Alonzo Deck Resurfacing and was very satisfied. I called for a quote. My first impression was great because Joe showed up on time for the quote appointment. After taking measurements he gave me a price on the spot. My next impression was positive because Joe only ask for a 10% deposit which is the max allowed by California law. There are many contractors that ask for more upfront so when Alonzo Deck Resurfacing was only asking for 10% I felt confident they were a legitimate company. The work was scheduled about three weeks out and performed as scheduled. The job was completed today and looks great. When all work was completed they left the yard clean and no debris was left behind. Bottom line, I highly recommend this company and I'm very pleased that I went with Alonzo Deck Resurfacing. read more

Had to say something about how good this man is. Alonzo put a "Cool Deck" onto our backyard patio three years ago. The workmanship is excellent. The work ethic is awesome. He is very fair and reasonable to the pocketbook. Arrives on time and cleanup is the best. I will gladly answer any questions related to Paul's dedication and quality of work. JOE'S BACK!!! So glad that joe called me back, came out and measured, and gave me a Bid on the work. He was back to his old professional self again, returning all my calls and texts. I guess he had some health issues that kept him out of the game for a bit... glad he's better. I knew it must've been something significant cuz he just didn't seem like a flake. He re-earned my business and is coming back to do the work in a few months cuz of MY crazy schedule (he was ready to rock within 2 weeks). I'll post another update when all the work is done...stay tuned. Good to have you back Joe read more

We wanted to resurface our existing patio that was worn after many years of use, weather, and pets. Joe came out on short notice and discussed several options and colors with us. When the work started, his team was prompt, courteous and very professional. The work was complete on time (three days) and looks fantastic. We would highly recommend Alonzo Deck Resurfacing, and will definitely have them back to handle our driveway and garage floor in the near future. Thank you Joe! read more

My wife and I met Joe at the Pomona Fairgrounds during a home and garden show. We were looking for help with our backyard and stumbled across Joe. Refinishing is exactly what we were looking for and Joe delivered a perfect job in only three days. He turned our dull backyard into something that looks new for about 10% of the cost of replacement. I would HIGHLY recommend Joe to anyone ever considering resurfacing their concrete, they will not be sorry. read more

In February 2014 we Googled searched for a company to help us beautify our backyard decking. Our concrete was 3 different colors and very ugly. We found Alonzo Deck Resurfacing. We had an idea of what we wanted by watching HGTV. Mr. Alonzo came to our home and showed us photos of many homes he had done with the Epoxy Pebble that would go right over our cement. The job lasted exactly the amount of time he promised. He and his son worked continuous until the job was complete. We are extremely happy with this product, Mr. Alonzo's work and found his pricing reasonable. Our decking looks beautiful. I would recommend this company strongly. C. Olson read more

We had our deck resurfaced about 4 years ago and Alonzo decking did a fabulous job! We recently called them out to re-seal the area and correct an area where the expansion joint underneath was beginning to show. Again, an amazing job, the joint is no longer visible and you cannot see where it was patched. An extra bonus was we had fading from where furniture used to be and that was all evened out. It's like new again! read more

Alonzo Decking applied epoxy pebble stone treatment to our porch and overlay and stain to our drive way. I must say, the work was excellent and changed the look of the front of the house. The job was done in just three days. Everything was on schedule and hassle free. I strongly recommend Alonzo Deck Resurfacing. read more

The concrete overlay done by Alonzo Deck Resurfacing is AMAZING! My 35 year old pool deck was cracked and worn with all different shades of gray...my deck now looks like a completely new light flagstone. We have grandkids that use the pool and I was worried about a darker stain making the concrete too hot, but Joe and Paul put just enough color to tint it so the brick coping pops now and the pool and deck look like new. I would recommend them with more than 10 thumbs up if I could...they came on time the day they had scheduled and completed the job when they said they would. Thank you so much guys....I couldn't be happier. read more

They did our deck 2 years ago and did a fine job, but they won't return a call 2 years later to reseal the same deck. I've left numerous messages but they won't call back. Guess I won't be recommending them anymore. read more

We found Alonzo at the Home Expo in Anaheim, and called him that same week to schedule an estimate. We spoke to him and scheduled an appointment for that Saturday. He never showed up for the appointment or called to cancel. Needless to say, I am glad I found out that he is not reliable before we signed any contract. Disappointed! read more

Our homeowners association needed to resurface a 50+ year old concrete pool deck and patio area of over 12,000 sq. ft. The underlying concrete had some cracks and other surface imperfections, but since it was essentially in good shape we decided that resurfacing with an acrylic-based overlay would be a cost-effective way to preserve the concrete and also dramatically improve the aesthetics. After interviewing and receiving bids from 4 contractors, and speaking with references, we selected Alonzo Deck Resurfacing. Their price was fair and materials and job specifications were of high quality. Joe Alonzo and his team just completed the work on time and on budget and did an absolutely outstanding job. They filled in the few cracks and leveled off several areas to get a more uniform surface and good drainage. For the pool deck, Alonzo used a saw cut scoring system which gave the area more visual interest. The results are even better than we expected - the pool deck and patio now look beautiful and confirm that we made the right decision. Joe was great to work with and gets our highest recommendation for any commercial or residential customer looking to use concrete overlay technology. read more

I met Joe at the Riverside Convention Center Home & Garden Show in about 2011. I was looking for someone to repair or replace my patio and driveway. I bought my home in 1978 and the concrete work was old then. My patio and driveway were in really bad shape. For years, I had procrastinated even getting bids because I was afraid it would be $20,000+ and I dreaded having a big mess while they jackhammered everything and poured new concrete. I knew nothing about concrete overlays until I saw Joe's display at the Home & Garden Show. There were so many choices for color and textures. Best of all, there would be no jackhammering and my patio and driveway would be off-limits for only a couple of days. I immediately made an appointment for an estimate. Joe was on time, gave me a quote for the color and texture I selected and I signed a contract that day. The work was done as scheduled and it turned out beautifully. My house is on a corner so I have 2 driveways. I was so happy with Joe's work that I had my front driveway and porch done, too. Joe reseals the overlay every 2 years to keep it beautiful and protected. I highly recommend Joe - you won't be disappointed. read more
