To make matters worse, they didn't bring enough cement for the job and started using my own bricks to fill the space without asking or discussing it with me. This showed a lack of preparation and professionalism. Based on my experience, I would not trust what he says. He will leave you high and dry with unfinished work and zero communication. He kept saying he will fix it. He was cutting 24" pavers with a 12" block saw. Ruined thousands of dollars work of marble. They worked very hard and completed this difficult project in 18 days. This included the low curb walls, repair of the landscape sprinkler system, steps, lighting, extra linear drains and 2 coats sealing at the end of the project. A lot of dirt had to be removed to improve the grade. Carlos does not upsell and would do whatever you wanted as I kept adding more square footage when I saw how lovely it was turning out. What impressed me most was they brought their own out house and changed it weekly to minimize the smell in the neighborhood. They did not have to rent one as those were only changed every 3 weeks. They owned all their equipment so that helped control cost and sped up the project not having to wait for a sub to show. It was very well organized and efficient. In my city, public works scrutinizes the contractors for approach work thankfully. The other competing contractors on my job would not take not the approach work for either not possessing the proper bond or expertise. Kevin worked with the city and our HOA to get on board. The work came out so well the Public Works department provides Big Johnson's as a referral for other residents looking to pull an approach permit/plan. That contractor punctured the sprinkler line and did a very bad job patching the line before putting in the concrete. Luis and his team removed the concrete and fixed the leak, he allowed it to dry to ensure the leak was fixed and came back to put in the new concrete.
