I had reached out to several contractors that day, and Victor was the first to respond. He was also able to get me a quote and a timeline for the project very quickly. We signed the contract a few days later, and amazingly, the entire project was completed within a week. Victor was exceptional with communication throughout the process and always made sure to confirm details with me before moving forward. His son Sebastian and daughter Penelope were also with him every time he visited the project. All three were extremely kind, professional, and a pleasure to work with. Sebastian even made a few suggestions that ultimately led us to pivot to a slightly different design, which we ended up loving. The entire project went incredibly smoothly, and we couldn't be happier with the finished retaining wall. Victor and his family were reliable, communicative, professional, and clearly cared about making sure we were happy with the final result. I would absolutely recommend Belman Pavers and look forward to working with them on future projects!

His communication was excellent throughout the project, he always kept me informed, showed up when he said he would, and answered every question I had. The quality of his workmanship exceeded my expectations, and the finished wall looks fantastic. On top of that, his pricing was very fair and reasonable for the quality of work he delivered. If you're looking for someone who is honest, dependable, and takes pride in their work, I highly recommend Jesse. It's hard to find contractors who combine great communication, fair pricing, and outstanding craftsmanship, but Jesse definitely does. I would not hesitate to hire him again for future projects. Five stars!

Finally he had me call him over FaceTime to discuss what needed to be done for our project. The issue is a shared wall between myself and neighbors and Dan said he has experience dealing with this. I sent him photos for our quote since he said that would be all he needed. This was on 11/30. I never heard from him again despite calling, texting, and reaching out thru Yelp. It's very disappointing but I guess it's to be expected when someone is already difficult to reach at the onset. In any case finding a reputable contractor who is reliable and response is key in any project. If you have someone that doesn't respond or reply its red flags for sure. Update: Thanks for responding, Dan. Your reply actually proves my point. For the record, I never asked you to help with anything "fake." I asked for a quote -- the one you said you could give based on photos -- and then you stopped responding. That's all this was about. If you simply told me this project was not for you that would have been the end of it. You ghosting and then responding to me on Yelp in such an unprofessional manner is what is crazy. Calling the situation "fake" also shows a misunderstanding of California property law. Tree-root damage to a shared wall is a real, common issue here, and nothing I described was unusual. Your decision to jump to insults is exactly why I warned others about your lack of basic communication and professionalism.

To make matters worse, they didn't bring enough cement for the job and started using my own bricks to fill the space without asking or discussing it with me. This showed a lack of preparation and professionalism. Based on my experience, I would not trust what he says. He will leave you high and dry with unfinished work and zero communication. This maybe a long read but it's 100% non-solicited review of a fantastic contractor. I recently was introduced to Big Johnson's Concrete and Pumping through my pool contractor. We needed to get our driveway replaced. Kevin came in and bid the job and provided a very reasonable and respectable quote which included the driveway approach/apron. In my city, public works scrutinizes the contractors for approach work thankfully. The other competing contractors on my job would not take not the approach work for either not possessing the proper bond or expertise. Kevin worked with the city and our HOA to get on board. The work came out so well the Public Works department provides Big Johnson's as a referral for other residents looking to pull an approach permit/plan. The driveway worked out so well I contacted Kevin two months later to tackle the hardscape work for my front yard landscape/hardscape project. He just finished up a fantastic wash finish expanded front porch and walkways. I couldn't be happier. His crew is fast and work well together. The guys putting down the forms know what they're doing getting proper grades and pitches set for water sheeting. The finishers are top notch and have a great attention to detail. He always answers the phone when I've called with questions or asking for clarification and asked me to reach out now after the job anytime should I need help or questions about his work. I had to use my own rope for the barricade. 2) In the last several months, I noticed that the cement is chipping/breaking off in different areas of the driveway ramp (even though my family park our cars in the street and rarely use the driveway ramp) and there is one hole in the sidewalk! When I called to ask David, the owner, why this is happening, he said that he did not know but he used good cement and did a great job. I then asked him to come to my house for an inspection but he said that the warranty is only for 12 months and he refused. He never provided me with a written receipt because he was out of them at the time. For verification, I spoke with another contractor, who informed me that the hole and the chipping are likely due to not thoroughly mixing the cement, which can lead to lumping/clumping in the cement mix. See attached pictures. 3) David did a horrible job of reinstalling the red bricks on one border. They are noticeably crooked and uneven compared to the rest of the original bricks, which were installed about 30 years ago. See attached pictures. For comparison, I inspected my neighbor's sidewalk and driveway ramp, which was done by another contractor about 4-5 years ago and I did not notice any chipping, cracking or holes and the overall workmanship looked very professional compared to the work done by this amateurish company.
