I hired Rafael back in February/March. I was initially happy with the end results until he did not fix the crack in my concrete less than a week after the job was finished. I was within the warranty but Rafael never came back to fix it. (Have text messages) As the months go by, concrete changed colors and now it looks blotchy. I won't say anything bad about Rafael's personality because he was very nice and professional. BUT I am not happy at all. If Rafael ignored fixing a small crack, I'm positive he wouldn't fix the concrete. My mother said to not sue him so Rafael is lucky because I would win. Rafael for sure is the greatest, most knowledgeable and most honest landscaper that I ever knew. Out of the sudden, my sprinker system stopped working and it started to leak from the cap, all 5 of them. It was mindboggling because how could all 5 caps went bad at the same time. So, I requested several landscapers to come, to give me quotes for repair and to let me know what was wrong with my sprinkler systems. All of them came out and gave me quotes north of $300. Some of them really spoke with confidence; telling me that the pipe underneath broke, caps went bad etc. But none of them can give a straight answer of what is wrong with it and offer no guarantee. Being a hospitalist (healthcare practitioners who took care of dying people to keep them alive or heal them in ICU), all of those explanations did not make any sense, well at least to me. Sorry, for being a weird genius, can't help it. So I asked one of my perfectionist acquaintance about trusted landscaper. Steve gave me Rafael's number and he regarded Rafael highly. In no time, I called Rafael, and I had to wait for 3 days, but that's okay, 3 extra days won't kill my plants. Heck, even in ICU extra 3 days would not kill a patient. I cut the water line and watered the plants myself for 3 days. So when Rafael came, my hospitalist self emerged and not knowing Rafael, I reported everything that other landscapers told me. However, Rafael was undisturbed, he went to my sprinkler, opened the cap, opened the water line and he stared at me and told me "this one leaks due to not enough water pressure!" I was dumbfounded, and confused. In my mind, "oh, great another of those landscaper again." But, I always give people benefits of the doubt. Even though my mind kept thinking "How could it leak when the pressure's low???" But I followed through with Rafael. He went out of my house and opened the water line outside of my house, and it worked... Rafael fixed my sprinkler system in less than 30 minutes. Only highly knowledgeable and experienced landscaper could do this, finding the root cause and fix it within a blink of an eye. In the hospital, if someone's blood pressure floored due to too much calcium channel blocker, only highly experienced practitioner would not panic and gave an injection of calcium IV to correct the problem. Wow, I really appreciate highly knowledgeable people, especially someone who was not swayed by others opinion and for profit. And Rafael is one of them. I asked him, how much was it to fix my problems and he told me just $100. He could charge me for more, but he was not that kind of a person. I am amazed by him and now truly a fan. I am more than just regular fan now, after seeing all of his work on yelp. Truly an artist and master landscaper. I asked for his card and gave them all away. This is the second time we have used Rafael for landscaping work. I really can't say enough about his work. The work is great, they clean up when there done extremely well, and the price is great. We just had him replace our back yard lawn with turf. It came out great. He also put a small dog part (real grass) on the side of our house for our dog and turtle. Again great job. I told him he could use one of my existing sprinklers from the back yard ( not needed because of the turf) but he said the valves I had weren't as good as the ones he uses, so he wanted to add a new valve and line for the dog park grass. We did have to wait a week for the turf, because of COVID-19 and the turf we picked wasn't in stock, no big deal. A year of so ago, he put pavers in our front yard and again a great job. We also liked what we saw in the friend's yards. We are very happy with Rafael's crew and the work they completed.
