Miracles still happen! Contacted Aloha Tile and Tub to reglaze a tub and tile combo. He gave me a quote and time they would show up. I then contacted him the next following day and asked for a quote for a shower that was pretty stained and had some cracks in the tile. He said they could do same week. Showed up on time. Worker (Sean) took care to protect areas and did excellent work. Two days later Masa(sp?) came to do the shower. After completing the work, we were all in awe of the before and after. I want to share this great place for refinishing or retouching your bath tub. My bath tub got cracks from the plumber who came to replace the pipes. My tub's previous glaze was falling apart as seen in the pictures. It was done prior to my having the place so I don't know who worked on it, but it started chipping after just 2 years and has progressively gotten worse. I called Aloha Tub & Tile up and Byron, the boss, answered immediately. I Sent him some pictures of my issues with the tub and he immediately gave me a quote and was able to schedule my appointment less than a week later! They also provide a 3 year warranty on their work. I think the price was very reasonable for the amount of back-breaking work and materials. Ahead of the day, Sean, the person who was going to work on my tub, contacted me to let me know what time he was going to arrive. He was very polite and he is an incredibly hard worker! He was happy to answer any questions I had and took the time to help me understand what he was doing. Because of the amount of work on the tub in order to prep the room (cover things up to protect the surfaces), strip, clean, prep the surface, apply, and clean up, he was here from 8AM to 5PM and he didn't take any breaks except for a quick lunch. After he finished, he carefully cleaned up everything and caulked the corners like a pro. Even after a long day, he still had a genuinely friendly attitude and a smile on his face as he was wrapping up. A little bit of debris landed on the surface before the material set and it kinda sunk in, leaving a little spot. Byron called me up after the day was done to ask how everything went and I told him what I saw. He reassured me that it would be corrected after the material dries. Just 2 days after Sean's first day, he came back and repaired the affected area and it looked good as new! Byron again, called after the day to see how things went. They really seem to care about doing good work and having a positive customer experience. Honestly, two great guys that were awesome to talk to and would gladly call them again if I needed their services! If at first you don't succeed, try again! Would have really wanted to give them a 5 star rating, but let me explain why. Called to get a quote from Byron the owner, easy and punctual in response done over the phone. Scheduled the job. Reglaze bathtub and walls. I called a few days prior to the scheduled work date to confirm job since I was coordinating several home improvement projects. Got confirmation that Masa would be coming to do the work. Day of work, I had to go to work too. Meanwhile, I get a call from Masa saying he is at my house 30 minutes early. I scramble to see if my 84 year old father in law can get there to accommodate him, which we do. Job commenced. I returned home towards the end of day to see Masa working. After some pleasantries, he cleans up... sort of and leaves. Thinking job was completed. Was told to let the finish dry for 24 hours. Tick tock the next day I notice that the caulking was, well, a bit rough and some of the tiles, not all, about 25% of the tiles were let's just say, "fishy" a term painters use when not smooth. Hemmed and hawed about what to do. Leave it or inquire about it? Decided to email Byron and share some photos. Byron immediately called me back to conquer that it was the right move to call him and share. He was pleasant and not defensive. We agreed he would come out and inspect the work himself. After discussing things he agreed to come back and redo the job. Hint: Get quote in writing and confirmation of job date. Be flexible in your time and access to your home. The preparation and equipment they use entails some mess and smell. Inspect the job and if not sure about it, take before and after pictures. Fair is fair. Would have been 5 stars if the job was done right the first time. It did take a lot of extra coordinating and time to follow-up on my end. However, after some time and conversations, the end product was terrific. Byron was a man of his word and never got defensive. I had the guys from Aloha tub and tile do our shower wall and bathtub they also did my bathroom vanity counter Skeptical because everything is five-star, but I understand why now because they pay attention to detail, there was a couple issues with some parts that I needed for the bathtub and he actually went out and purchased the item and replaced it. After experiencing a performance failure from another contractor and needing immediate restoration of my 100 yr old cast iron claw foot tub as part of a home remodeling job (the remodel contractor was nearing end of the master bath renovation), I was calling all tub repair contractors on Oahu in desperation. Most contractors contacted had extensive lead times and lots of restrictions on what they would/wouldn't do. These folks had a can-do attitude and were able to hit the ground running within 3 days of first contact with a 2 man crew (with all the proper ventilation equipment and enclosure sealing) spending the whole day repairing chips and reglazing the tub. First of all, there should be a better category for this business but it doesn't exist on Yelp. These guys are really in the tile/tub resurfacing business which is a pretty small niche. We had to get our house ready to sell and needed an easy fix for our walk-in, tiled shower that was looking really old. The tiles were chipping and flaking off paint (presumably from a bad fix job in the past) and it just looked bad. I found this company online after searching for "tile resurfacing" and when I called I talked to Mike, the owner. He was great all the way through. He gave me a price quote that was reasonable and right in line with other companies. He was also upfront about what additional costs I might see and he explained the whole process of resurfacing to me. All in all, it took the better part of a day (10 am - 3:30 pm) but it turned out GREAT. They redid our ugly baby blue tile in a nice, clean white and made everything look perfectly new again. It's like getting a new shower without having to do all the work of tearing out and reinstalling new tile. Both Mike (the owner) and his employee, Jared, worked on our bathroom. They were both incredibly friendly and did an excellent job.
