I received multiple estimates from different companies and contractors to repair a shower pan and possible remodel of my standing shower. I got in touch with Deb from Island Transformations, who was just wonderful. Deb was incredibly patient, working to ensure she knew what I was looking to get done and took the time throughout the day to keep me informed and educated on the work I was to receive. She provided me time to discuss any concerns or questions and always returned my calls. She also kept in touch to notify me of any updates or changes to the job. I had David(Dave) and Steven work on my shower. They arrived punctual and wasted no time through the day to get the work done. Both were incredibly professional, hard working and I was surprised by their dedication to the completion of their work. I am thankful for that. Very sloppy and after a couple of years, still have not resolved the poor workmanship. Due to his faulty equipment, he burned my carpet with sparks coming from the equipment on the floor - could've started a fire as my smoke alarm went off. Thankfully, I was passing by my hallway when I saw sparks flying. They also burned out my electrical socket. I had to call an electrician to fix it and replace faceplate. Bathroom countertop poorly done and now staining, kitchen sink top has bubbles, what more do I need to explain. read more

My bathtub needed refinishing. There was a 3-4" crack near the drain area that accumulated some brownish substance beneath and was grossing out my uh...long term house guest. And i was getting tired of taking showers only because not knowing what was in that crack made the thought of taking a bath in there rather repugnant. After some extensive research, i requested quotes from a bunch of companies. I received a surprising wide range of quotes but chose Island Transformations after Tom assessed the scope because he demonstrated a good depth of knowledge. By that time, the crack had grown into something rather disgusting. Tom agreed to change the overflow drain cover as well, which dated back to the original construction and appeared quite corroded. Although the drain cover is normally left exposed, the existing one was so tarnished I requested it be painted over since removal required a special plumbing tool. Everything went smoothly on the scheduled day. They did a decent job of protecting the walls and floor of my miniature bathroom. The finish was barely completed before the neighborhood lost power. The next day, Tom returned to evaluate the work. The paint reacted badly to the remnants of the previous coating and required some adjustment. The final product looks satisfyingly presentable. I needed to reglaze a tub that looked horrible with rust, that was causing a crack. I contacted a few companies but Mike called me back right away and set up a time to look at the tub the next day. Tom, his partner, looked at the tub and gave me several options, including touching up versus refinishing from scratch, which obviously cost more. I didn't feel pressured to spend more money than necessary and he explained that the touch up over the old paint would look just as good. I liked that he was on hand to give me an estimate versus a general quote over the phone. JJ came by the following day to literally wrap up and tape up the bathroom to avoid the overspray and dust. I was very impressed because I had this done previously years ago with a different company and it was not as nearly thoroughly covered. They even made a mock curtain to the bathroom entry to keep the fumes contained. Very much appreciated. JJ did the basics and Mike came to patch up and spray the tub. Following day, JJ came by to take down all the covering and finish up the process. The tub looked beautiful, however I did find a few small depressions on the paint and called Mike to get them looked at. Tom came by the following day to buff out the tub and touch it up to my satisfaction. Mike and Tom are professionals and they are good at what they do. I was told that there is a warranty and hopefully I won't need to utilize this option but if I do, I think they would make it right and make me happy. Tom responded to my request promptly and set up a time to come do an estimate. He determined my tub was in good shape and a good polishing should make it look nice again. He didn't think it needed to be repainted. We also agreed on grout shield to be applied to the floors as well as the edge of the tub. Mike scheduled the job on yelp and was quick to respond. Steve checked in with me the night before the job. He double checked what we were doing in the bathroom and we decided on a start time. The next day, Steve came out and was so nice and polite. He explained what how the job would go and that he would check in with us here and there. He scrubbed the heck out of the floor and grout. Then he went to town polishing the tub. He had me come look at progress and explained some stubborn spots and why they weren't coming out. He then polished again. At the end, he did applied the grout shield after we looked at the color that matched the best. He was at our house for about 5 hours and really did an excellent job on the tub and floors. True professional Tom came later to get payment and the seal the toilet since we talked about that in the estimate. We also talked a possible future job in the kitchen. I highly recommend these guys. They know their stuff, do quality work and are fair with their prices. I will be contacting them again. read more

My husband and I have been needing to do something about our kitchen for a long time. We had an old formica countertop that was falling apart and the cabinets were really bad. We thought we were going to have to spend $10,000 -15000 to replace them but then we found Island transformations and Tom explained that we could save the countertops and cabinets and make them practically new again and would save more than a third of what I thought . Didn't want to spend a ton of money on this rental repair. Found these guys on YELP! Tom was easy to work with and did a great job on my tub and walls. Brought back the sheen and slick, new finish to my 10 year old bathtub. Also had him refinish the sink. There's a process that makes the faux marble counter look and feel like granite. He had a tough time in the bowl of the sink because it wasn't a straight edge so there was a blemish but overall looked good. Nice job at a reasonable price. A year ago in March, Tom and another employee recovered my Kitchen and Bathroom countertops and my shower floor. I was pleased with the end product. But back in October of 2022 I contacted Tom to let him know that my counter was cracking - no response. A few weeks later I tried again and sent photos of the problem - no response. This year he finally got back to me and I explained there was a crack in my shower floor and where the counter top kitchen counter meets the sides it was splitting. His response was "that just needs to be caulked" I wanted to know when he would be able to come out and fix it and he said "what? you want me to caulk it?" I told him yes - and his response was send me some pictures - which I had already done. Months have passed and I have never heard from him. To date it is gone from cracking to chunks coming off and now it looks like the bathroom counter is going to have the same problem. So I think I have a right to post a bad review. read more

JJ and Tom did a great job refinishing our shower and tub. Price was right, and I liked that they piped the fumes out through the window. And they masked the heck out of the room, smthg the last refinisher didn't do well. Even made a curtain to contain the fumes. It's hard to believe how much they transformed the yucky stained tub, it looks and feels like a piece of white glass. We had Mike and his assistance bring our bathtubs back to looking brand new again. After 35 years in Mililani the tubs started turning to a Poke A Dot brown shade. I've tried every cleanser from the stores but anything helped. It took Island Transformation a day to complete the job of grinding and polishing to bring the appearance back to a shining white color. Matt Wilcox came today and did an absolutely beautiful job. I can't believe how beautiful the tub looks, gleaming like brand new. Tom came to check on the results and did the recaulking and further touching up--a true perfectionist, which is just what you want in your home. We were in need of bringing an old tiled shower stall to life as 40+ years was showing it's age. Rather than do a complete re-do, I looked into refinishing it instead and seeing what can be done today, I called a few places including Island Transformations. This company does good work: my reglazed shower floor looks great and the new resurfacing has in it something called 'No Slip' that makes is safer. Tom worked on it during the Blaisdale Fair for his industry so the timing tended to be a bit irregular. But he always let me know when he was going to be late. I'd use them again for sure. read more

After a series of inqueries with several companies, we selected Island Transformations. Mike and his partner Tom are true professionals, supported with other employes like JJ, this company does an excellent job. Tom did our condo tub and walls. It needed help and Tom made it look like new again. This process of reglazing a tub and walls does take time for perfection. First day, stripping the tub and covering up the walls, etc. Second day, prime the tub and reglazing. Third day, reglazing the walls and if time allows, a clear coat is applied. Following the next day with buffing the tub and walls and cleanup. I'm sure it could be done quicker based on your particulars, but ours was a bit more involved. It does smell, so some people would need to find suitable accommodations. Is does help to have a second bathroom. Overall, Tom did an excellent job. He noticed a flaw in the first coat on the tub and insisted on redoing it, I wasn't about to argue with that. Reasonably priced, quality product. In addition, when the color sceme is emailed to you or presented in pamphlet, it's best to pay close attention to the colors. Sometimes what appears in pamphlet form and via computer are subject to interpretation. Other than that, I would recommend using Island Transformations and would use them again. read more
