Nothing but smiles, politeness and attentiveness. The food:AWESOME. My wife grew up in Hawaii and is picky when it comes to Hawaiian food. She loves this place as do I. Portions are huge and the taste of everything that we have ordered on the menu has been outstanding. We only have two or three "go-to" dining destinations in Silverdale and Aloha is one of them. When we got the food, it felt like they were doing portion control. The gravy was very bland. The pattie was an actual single hamburger slice that you would buy from costco. Was out exploring and came across Aloha Kitchen in a strip mall. Food and service were good.

I've waited a couple days to do this review to let the bad taste that was left after our visit here settle. Some of that bad taste was due to the food and some was due to the service and attitude of the staff. My husband has been here several times and liked the food so I decided to try it out for myself. I definitely won't be going back! The Kahlua Pork was bitter from too much liquid smoke being added after it was cooked (I'm assuming). It got to be so bad I couldn't even finish the very small portion they give you. The Fried Rice was extremely dry and tasteless until I added plenty of soy sauce and let it soak in. I definitely recommend spending the extra $2.25 for one scoop of rice and two scoops of Mac Salad, that was the best part of the meal. The Mochiko Chicken is good, a little burnt but still had that wonderful sweet taste! None of the food is worth the steep prices and small portions though! As if the food wasn't bad enough... When I checked in here on Yelp, it popped up saying we would receive an order of Spam Musubi - how wonderful, I love Spam!! I showed it to our server as instructed and she said "Oh, we don't do Yelp". She just stood there, looking at us, stammering, saying she had no idea what it was and no, they wouldn't honor it. She was new though and finally agreed to go talk to a more senior server. She returned and said no, they would not honor it, that they "Didn't do the Yelp thing"! Okay, fine, no I don't want the Musubi... She then went back to the counter, visible by the entire restaurant, and they all proceeded to get a horrible attitude, staring and shaking their heads at us! They even got the cook in on it through the pass through window where he proceeded to say, very loudly, that no way would they have a Yelp coupon, those "Yelp people" are crooked and keep calling them wanting them to sign up for $400 a month and Yelp would remove all bad reviews for them. He went on for quite awhile about it too! This was all over a $3 item! Very, very bad business decision. They tried to "make nice" by taking the $7 Lumpia off our bill. My husband asked them to put it back on, we weren't looking for "hand outs". The cook came from the back and explained he wanted to make the customers happy and proceeded to tell the Yelp story to him about the $400 a month. Does he not realize that honoring the coupon would have made us perfectly happy??? Coupon or no coupon, I'm only giving Aloha Kitchen two stars, one for the ambiance of the place, it's very clean, open and inviting, and one for the Mac Salad which I enjoyed! Now, off to the store to buy a pork butt so I can satisfy my craving for some GOOD Kahlua pork! read more

Not family friendly. My wife and I went here for lunch with our almost 2 year old son. We were seated promptly but the high chair was the most child friendly portion of our visit. My wife and I were visiting friends of ours in Poulsbo and they were kind enough to treat us to dinner at Aloha Kitchen. They hadn't been to the restaurant before but decided to take a chance on it. Well, the service was slow, the prices were a bit high, the portions were small and the food was rather bland. But we made the best of it. Then latter that month my friend checked his credit card billing statement and discovered that there had been two separate charges to his credit card at Aloha Kitchen on two separate dates--we had only dined there once. Thinking it a simple mistake he called the store and spoke with the manager explaining the situation and asking for a refund. The owner refused. He said that all of the credit card billing information had been lost during the week that we had visited and he was doing the best he could to "balance the books." Let me just repeat that: HE FLAT OUT REFUSED TO REFUND THE FRAUDULENT CHARGES! Suffice it to say, the only people I would refer Aloha Kitchen to is the Better Business Bureau! read more

Sometimes the best food comes from within a strip mall. In the case of really good Hawaiian food, Aloha Kitchen makes that a reality. Aloha Kitchen is a no frills place that is serving up all the taste of the islands in Silverdale. They offer all kind of candies and sodas only found on the islands but more importantly they are making all those classics you have come to love from Hawaii. I ordered the SWEET 'N SOUR SPARE RIBS that are Aloha Style Spare Ribs Slow Cooked and it came with steamed white rice and macaroni salad. I added an order or pork lumpia and a can of Hawaiian Sun, so good! The Spare ribs were so tender, the macaroni was the classic creamy style from the islands and the lumbia was amazing. This is a must if you are missing a taste of the islands and the prices are reasonable as well read more

I really, really, really wanted to love this place. I visit my folks 1 to 2 times a month and was excited to see a Hawaiian food place in Silverdale. The people and service is pretty good, and they seem to have the right selection of dishes and drinks..... But the food wasn't as delicious as I thought it would have been. In fact it seemed overpriced for the quality. I tried the loco moco and the pork and cabbage with some Hawaiian Sun guava drink and it wasn't as good as Kona Kitchen or even L&L in Seattle. Born and raised a Hawaiian on Oahu, I spent the last six years in North Carolina where my father would send me care packages to stave off my local gindz need. I survived making my own kalua pig, spam musubi, Huli Huli chicken and even meat jun. When I moved to Washington I was so happy to see Hawaiian people, food and fare again. As a local I only eat L & L on extreme circumstances, I prefer my tutu's kalua pig, my dad's lau lau and my uncles ulu. L & L to me, is not good local food. I was so happy to see Aloha Kitchen. I immediately ordered Spam Musubi, kalua pig and poi. The nori is off on the spam, but it still quenched my needs. Everyone talks about how friendly the owner is, but of the 10 times I've been there the staff has always been slightly cold and no one has tried to talk story to me. Prices are good, staff is okay, I love the music and the Merrie monarch videos ... but like I said, I've never felt welcomed there and the food is so-so. I'd much rather have Aloha kitchen than nothing at all and I still go for my spam musubi fixes and my occasional need for poi. read more

Had a guy from work leaving and he chose this place as his favorite to have a group lunch. I'm surprised that this was a favorite because of the high prices and subpar service. The food was delicious but overpriced for my wallet. When the appetizers are as expensive as the entrees there's something wrong. And, when seating 8 people you expect slower service because of the numbers but we only had our drinks refilled once. Then we all had to line up at the register to get out of there. Last time I was here was in 2011, when they were still in the bigger building in the Chuck E. Cheese area of Silverdale. Now they are in the Ross Plaza, in a smaller building. Since it had been 4 years, I decided to give them another shot. I like the space they are in much better. It feels more comfortable to sit in, so I do like that they have moved. Their prices seem better than before, much more wallet friendly. And the 3 times I have gone, the service is a lot nicer than I remember, and everything came quickly and with a smile. We have gone between lunch and dinner usually, when it's not that busy. When I go, I share a combo plate with extra rice with a friend (which is PLENTY to share, and a good deal). I've had the Kalua Pork (with and without cabbage), the Huli Chicken, and the Hamburger Patty with Gravy. All of which were good, and I would get again. Their rice has improved, it's cooked well and flavorful. The mac salad is also good. The only thing I got that I didn't particularly like was the Sweet and Sour Spareribs. They have a very Filipino taste to them, and if you aren't used to it, or like Filipino food then I wouldn't recommend it. They seemed to have improved over the years, so I would make this a more regular destination for me if I am in Silverdale. read more

Located in the Ross plaza this place has potential. My fiancée, mom, and I went here on a whim decision because we wanted to try out their food. We all love Hawaiian food, but this one was just ok. The things I would say that stuck out were their good service and decor. The lady who served us was very polite and nice. I ordered the saimin, the broth was tasty, but was not something I would order again. It's on the bland side, I think a little more flavor on the broth this would be a killer dish. The mac salad had way too much mayonnaise and lacked some of the salt factor. First of all, Customer service was great. Felt really welcomed when I came in with my cousin. I recently moved to Bremerton so I wanted to explore the area and the first thing I craved for was Hawaiian food. I'm such a huge fan of spam musubi, especially from this one restaurant Aloha Hawaiian Grill in Kent so I had high expectations for this one. We ordered 2 spam musubi's as appetizers and my honest opinion about them: meh, they were alright. Kind of plain but they were still delicious. We also had ordered LauLau pork and Guava chicken for lunch as our main dish. It came with 2 scoops of rice and macaroni salad on the side. Usually I hate anything with Mayo in it but the Macaroni Salad was exceptional! I loved it!! Unfortunately, I wasn't too impressed with the Guava chicken. There was just no hint of the Guava taste and it just felt like I was eating Chinese food. Other than that, I would love to come back again and try other dishes since I'm not so familiar with Hawaiian food except Spam musubi. Would give a 3.5 but Yelp doesn't have that option read more

This was my first time having Hawaiian food and I was not disappointed. I had some sort or pulled pork, I can't remember the name of it. But it was very good. It was a little too salty for my taste but nothing I couldn't deal with. The flavor was still very good. I tried a bit of my friend huli huli chicken. And that is what I will be getting next time. So. So. Good. Their macaroni salad is also quite good. The service was so fast too, we got our food probably five minutes after we ordered. I was super surprised. I usually only go for four stars or higher but this place was close to my hotel so I ignored the three-ish stars. First, they've been in their current minimall location for six months and still don't have a roadside sign. I had to circle twice to find it. Ordered the Huli Huli plate which comes with two scoops rice, one scoop mac salad. To get two scoops mac and one scoop rice will cost you an additional $2.25. The food came faster than you can cook chicken so it was clearly not made to order but already done. When I got in the car the overwhelming scent was of cafeteria food and back at the hotel it was so mediocre. The chicken was off-color brown, the skin still on, the mac salad mealy, the rice overlooked. I'm giving it two stars for simply being a Hawaiian restaurant. **Update** We had lunch here a few days ago and I had the Mochiko chicken (again) and enjoyed it (without the sauce). My daughters split a "small" saimin which was huge and my boyfriend devoured his loco moco. Its not the same as the restaurants in San Diego and of course Hawaii but it is growing on me. It still seems a bit overpriced but that could just be because I'm used to walking into an L & L and buying enough food for my family of 5 for under $40. The service was much better this time, it didn't take as long to get my food as last time. I am sure we will be back. We picked up take out from here and I found it to be just ok. I do have to admit that I am originally from a part of San Diego that has almost as many island style restaurants (Hawaiian, Guamanian etc) as taco shops so I may be a bit spoiled. Not sure if I will will be back often but my Hawaiian raised boyfriend enjoyed it and has had lunch here several times. The mochiko chicken was good but overall it was a bit too expensive, the meal took too long (40 minutes and I called it in for carry out!) and I was disappointed that they did not have some of my favorites (like musubi's!)
