We prepared the home by moving furniture and belongings away from every window so they would have easy access. As a result, our house was left in disarray, but we planned to put everything back after the appointment. Fifteen minutes before our scheduled appointment, Mauka Cleaning Co. called to cancel due to "maintenance issues." While disappointing, we understood that emergencies happen. Since our house was already prepared, we agreed to reschedule for three days later. On the day of the rescheduled appointment, they never showed up. At the scheduled time, there was no call, text, or email. Multiple attempts to reach them went unanswered. Four hours later, they finally contacted us to apologize and said they understood if we no longer wanted to use their services. We rearranged our schedules, took time off work, and lived with our home in disarray for several days because of the first cancellation, only to be completely stood up on the rescheduled appointment. Mistakes happen, but failing to communicate with customers after already rescheduling once is unacceptable. Based on our experience, I can't recommend this company.

HFD Station 22 came to the rescue early Sunday morning. Through their bravery they removed and secured the debris in the gusty winds and darkness. PV Hawaii was needed to remove the photo voltaic panels before the roofers could do their repairs. Well, Sam the owner, hands helper Cheyne, and office assistance Regine were able to expedite my job request. This past Friday, Sam and Cheyne removed the panels to make way for the roofers from Environmental Roofing Solutions who were scheduled for Sunday. Amazingly, these two companies know each other, so coordination was seamless. The garage roof and more are now repaired. No more dealing with natural rain showers coming through the roof...hallelujah!! What I appreciated from PV Hawaii is that they were responsive, they cared about my sense of urgency, flexibility, their networking, and their attitude of gratitude while baking in the hot sun. The company who generated the photovoltaic solar energy system that was installed by another on island company on the home I purchased filed bankruptcy in Aug 2024! This left me with finding someone to come out and assess why my PV panels were not generating electricity and sending the energy to be used by my home or to be stored in our Tesla power walls. When I reached out I explained that the company who installed the system on our home told me via monitoring that I had micro-inverters that needed to be replaced. When PV Hawaii techs came to our home for a 'troubleshoot visit' they were unable to gain access to my PV panel inverter - which is from the company that filed bankruptcy! They pretty much told me the only thing they could do was gain assistance from the company who initially installed the PV solar energy system on our home, which mind you, already gave me a quote to restring our PV panels to a whole new inverter and then connect that to our Tesla power walls which would be thousands of dollars!! So, you're telling me that this company, PV Hawaii needs to reach out to a whole separate PV company to get this type of repair/work done!? They charged me $299 for pretty much coming out to my house and doing absolutely NOTHING. When I asked for a quote for them to restring my microinverters to a new inverter I was told via email that they were working on the quote. . . . I NEVER received a quote! Overall, if you own a business and find that you are unable to do specific type of work just let the customer know. Don't charge for services if those services cannot be done. And don't lie and say you're getting a quote together and then never provide a quote and ghost the customer! Sean from Island Solar Service contacted me the same day, actually within an hour of me entering my information on their website. He was able to visit my parent's house the next day and provided me with a quote. We decided to replace the whole system, the panels and the water heater, since it was old. We were able to schedule the installation pretty quickly especially with a lot of homeowners trying to get their systems installed by the end of the year. Prior to the installation, Sean informed my mom of what needed to be done to prep the area for the install. Basically clean the area surrounding the existing water heater and the space needed. He called a week prior to confirm the install and to start the permit process. The team of installers arrived early that morning (7:30 AM) and was done by 1:00PM. They did a terriffic job. Through out the job they informed us as to what they were doing and were very professional. Once completed they went through the system to provide us with information and how everything worked as well as who to call if anything comes up. Overall GREAT service and value.
