I have several sessions with her and I feel like a new person. I strongly feel she helped me so much that I recommended her to 2 of my friends and they were so gratfeul I recommended Ocean to them. This was our first time visiting Almonte Spa and it was so relaxing! We booked an hour of private hot tub time in mid October. We didn't utilize the shower but like other's have said, they are shared. The person handling our reservation was so accommodating even though we were running late! We greatly appreciated that. It was a phenomenally positive experience- especially considering the covid19 pandemic, the new outdoor setting, and the fact that it was my first prenatal massage (at 26 weeks). Almonte Spa, while it's changed its name a couple times it's never lost its sweet local charm. I've been visiting this gem of a location under the redwoods for over 12 years. I don't have a hot tub at home so this is my go to place for that. I started getting a few massages here and there and always pretty amazing. Then I experienced Michael. Hands down the best in the West!! Michael found every knotty place that needed attention, intuitively knows what pressure is needed and has a wonderful flow that is deep yet relaxing. This place was a favorite of mine with the previous owner. Now that it's changed to new hands I was curious to see if the service would still be great. We first made reservation for hot tub and massage but when we arrived, they had made the mistake of over booking and gave our reservation to somebody else. what a bummer on my anniversary not only we were denied the hot tub but there was nothing they could do for us which is really sad We didn't want to do the massage combo without the hot tub soak so we ended up canceling our reservation on the spot and leaving very unhappy. But then the new owner gave me a call and told me that she would not only cover the cost of the hot tub but she would also cover the cost of the Massage that is a sign of true customer service. Thank you so much for making it up to us and making our second trip under the new management a more successful one. read more

I'm quite surprised this place has the reviews it does. I have never left a 1 star review, but it's been so disappointing engaging with these folks recently. I've been to Almonte Spa half a dozen times or so. Each massage has been a bit lackluster, but nothing horrible. The quality of therapists is inconsistent, they often talk to much about their personal lives, and on multiple occasions, therapists have simply run out of time mid massage, apologized and ended. But the most recent massage I had left me in pain. It was deep tissue and my stomach was quite upset afterwards and worse, my right ankle felt swollen and was tender to walk on for multiple days--I didn't notice it hurting while in the session or I would have asked the therapist to stop, obviously. I called the spa mid week to ask if someone could help course correct whatever had happened, and they said of course "Let's get you fixed up!" but wanted to charge me for another $125 massage. I explained why I felt awkward paying for such a thing after it was the first massage that got me in that position, and her tone immediately changed. She didn't apologize but cited some policy about if I feel uncomfortable in the first 15 minutes, I can stop the massage. This didn't make sense a) because I didn't realize he would cause damage with the deep tissue work he was doing and b) he didn't work on my legs/ankles until well into the massage. She said she would have to ask the manager and get back to me. She never called back. I called back a week later to inquire, got a separate person, and she said it was likely being resolved, and to wait for a call back. Three months later, I haven't gotten a call back and had to get another massage from a separate place to resolve the issue with my ankle. Not a good massage followed by even more upsetting customer service. I wish this place was more compassionate when dealing with people's health and bodies. read more

Quaint little spa in Mill Valley! My friend booked a girls spa day for her birthday yesterday and we were running late (horrible traffic in the city). We called then to let then know and they said they'd just have to cut our massage time short as they were full with appointments, understandable. We got there 10 mins late for our 55 min appointment and their staff got right to it so we could maximize our time. I had Caroline and she said she usually does deep tissue. That made me nervous since i always ask for light pressure. She checked on the pressure from time to time without being overbearing which was nice. It was so relaxing that i almost fell asleep and that's always a good sign. Caroline was great and I'll definitely be back to try the hot tubs and for another massage with Caroline! read more

This is a great place to get a good massage treatment. It is peaceful, and in a beautiful spot in Mill Valley. The hot tubs in back are great as well. I particularly like how they have enough massage therapists at any given time, that there's a good chance even you call just an hour or two before, someone might be available. He was more than strong-he really listened when I told him what was hurting, asked great questions then applied enormous training and experience with a whole lot of intuition and intention. We were staying in Sausalito and hoped to get a massage at our hotel, but they were booked. It was pure luck by which I found Simply Inspired Spa and am so glad I did! My husband and I each had 90 minute deep tissue sessions with Daniel and Michael, they were both AMAZING!! My husband and I have chronic issues, but after our massages, we felt so relaxed and slept like babies. We will definitely book with Daniel and Michael again when we are in Sausalito. AHHHH...two hours at Simply Inspired Spa is like a weekend away from the stress and chill of the week.. a soak in a clean fresh private hot tub, under the redwoods, outside...mmmm. I've been going to SIS (previously known as Joseph Smith's massage) for almost 20 years. I've always had my favorite therapists, but recently I've been seeing Michael. Last night I had a 70 minute advanced therapy/deep tissue session with Michael that left me feeling better than I've felt in years. In addition to being very experienced and knowledgable - he's one gifted therapist, who's touch always has the appropriate pressure, and he focuses exactly where it's needed. He is intuitive and gentle - I was never in pain - as I have been with other deep tissue massage. The improved range of motion and pain relief I'm experiencing after two sessions with Michael are remarkable. I also love the outdoor redwood hot tubs (always hot and clean) - especially on a chilly winter night - beautiful star gazing. read more

This is a lovely place situated in Mill Valley, right off the 101 with a parking lot! The staff is extremely, helpful and kind. I came here with a friend on a Monday without a reservation and was able to hop right into the tub that is situated amongst redwoods in less then 5 minutes! The lovely gentleman at the front desk even asked their neighbor, who was doke construction next door near the tubs, to hold off while we had our 30 minute soak! Overall, the staff was great, the facilities were clean and the showers had nice shower products - not just Bronner's (huge plus)! Definitely recommend stopping by for a relaxing way to spend an afternoon and evening. We sure did! read more

I just love the vibe of this little haven. Had a 70min Swedish massage with Katharine today, but it was more magic than Swedish, really. I had tweaked my back earlier today and have been suffering from right shoulder pain for almost a year now; pain which has been progressively limiting my movement. What I forgot to tell Katharine was that my left foot and right knee have also been aching. Feeling like a total hot mess lately! Lol The massage itself was fairly light on the pressure but I could physically feel "changes" while she was working on the different areas. A couple of hours after my massage and my husband and I are absolutely impressed with how much more movement I have to my right shoulder PLUS I'm no longer walking funny due to my back, foot and knee pains, which are no longer present! Simply Inspired Spa should rename its place 'Simply Amazing Spa'. After a long flight from Thailand and fighting jet lag, I decide to book a massage with Kevin. I told Kevin I feel pain down my legs and feel stiff. Kevin got to work and used strong pressure points to iron out all of my knots. While his work is intense, I felt the pain down my leg quickly disappear. After that amazing massage from Kevin, I wasn't quite ready to leave the spa yet. My limbs felt like al dente pasta and I didn't want to be behind the wheel. I asked about the infrared sauna and the owner kindly walked me through the procedure and the rest of the spa area. She showed me the private hot tub, outdoor shower, indoor shower and changing rooms. After taking a nap in infrared sauna for 30 min, I felt like a new man. Thank you Simply Inspired Spa.
