She is the most educated and cutting edge thinker and practioner I've worked with. I've worked with over six top holistic/functional medicine health care providers over the past 12 years. Dr. McDougall is the best hands down. She was having me allergy test, do full hormone and blood panels, and test for mytotoxins long before that became mainstream. Now, with her leadership Jyzen is using cutting edge tech to heal long term conditions that otherwise just need to be managed. For example, I meditated for 20 years and could not get my nervous system to go into rest and digest/turn on my parasympathetic nervous system. Through the Nuerofit biofeedback training (10 session), it is finally going into rest and digest. Because of this, the mold and other mytotoxins that were hiding behind the activated nervous system can also finally be detoxed and cleared out. There are few other doctors in the US who understand how all of the systems of the body (mind and spirit) work together, and how they are impacted by radiation/EMFs, pollution, and chronic stress that humans experience now. Dr. McDougall is one of the best. Also, the staff at Jyzen are courteous, friendly, and responsive. Jyzen has a patient portal through which you can message your provider questions and requests for prescription refills. The office is lovely with scenic views of the bay. I highly recommend Jyzen.

Digestive system analysis found lack of beneficial bacteria in the gut, leading to poor digestion and nutrition. With targeted nutritional supplements and dietary change my ulcer-like symptoms disappeared and even my cholesterol drastically improved. He's a great doctor to deal with in that he can handle followup consultations via Skype video conferencing if it doesn't really require a personal appearance to discuss test results. I'd strongly recommend him if you want some "out of the box" thinking on your health. Be warned however, he's not in anyone's network, but then again after the number Obamacare did on health insurance, who is ^-^

During my appointment, I explained all of my concerns and for the first time in a long time someone understood what I was going through and did not tell me that " you are fine" which I had heard from other doctors. Since, then I have taken tests and have had a couple of appointments and we figured out what was going on with me. I have been very impressed by her dedication and professionalism. Anytime that I would call or email with a question she was there with an instant response. I also appreciate her ability to think "outside of the box" which when you have hormonal issues, hypothyroidism, and extreme adrenal fatigue that is very important because there isn't one prescription for everyone. Currently, I am doing everything that she has advised for me to do and I am feeling better. Based on her advise, I have started to live a healthier life. She has helped me to see how important good nutrition is and she helped me to get on a regular program with my vitamins and supplements. If it wasn't for her, I would still be exhausted, experiencing major PMS symptoms, and have horrible digestion issues. I feel like I am on the right track for me and I am finally feeling healthy again. I would recommend anyone that has issues with thyroid, hormones, etc. to go to this office. I am very thankful that I made the decision to go.

But what I will say is this: I have no idea what Dr. Nico is doing (even though he's explained it to me) and it is the ONLY thing that helped me. I suffered from dyshidrotic eczema for five years before I found Dr. Nico - basically, this is a really severe eczema that was all over my hands and meant I couldn't wash my hands, do the dishes, do any of my hobbies, or basically use my hands at all without a LOT of pain. I'd been to a whole host of traditional medical doctors, dermatologists, etc, and alternative practitioners like acupuncturists. I'd tried steroids, a whole host of herbs, changing my diet - everything and anything I could think of. Nothing worked, and my hands were incredibly painful. When I found Dr. Nico, I was totally open-minded, but I even I had some doubts about what he was doing. However, within two weeks of my first treatment, the eczema was GONE. I can't begin to describe what a relief this was and continues to be. To this day I have no idea what he did, but it completely changed my life. I continue to see Dr. Nico for general wellness and to keep the eczema at bay. Since that initial experience, I've referred a lot of people to him for everything from cancer to chronic pain. If you have any sort of chronic issue, I'd highly recommend him.

Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Shaikh was so negative that I have to comment. In summary and in my opinion only: * The practice is dysfunctional and inefficient. (Admin does their best) * Dr. Shaikh is rude, overbearing, egotistical, controlling and opinionated. * Multiple, confusing and dysfunctional online portals * Doctors other than Shaikh appear to have very little autonomy which leads to you effectively not being treated by the person actually seeing you. For the record the admin staff and other practitioners at Soluna health are nice people. They have a fantastic Acupuncturist as well. Unfortunately Dr. Shaikh, in my opinion has absolutely the worst bedside manner of any Doctor I have experienced in my 67 years! Eg. When I was really sick with Covid at home early in my experience with her, Dr. Shaikh decided to pay a home visit. (Well thats nice I thought!) Unfortunately for some unknown reason, she couldn't find my house (hard to believe with Google directions) Instead, she got lost and left me a verbally abusive and angry voice mail saying she couldn't find my house because I must have given her an incorrect address and would be charging me for the visit! I immediately tried calling her back and also through the office but she wouldn't take the call and moved on. Of course with terrible Covid Symptoms I was really in need of care. Unfortunately I didn't get it that day! More recently, after a five day wait due to Thanksgiving and availability of a doctor at the practice, I presented myself with swollen glands+throat and also a CT scan showing a diagnosis of borderline bronchiectasis. I really felt by that stage that I had some serious ongoing bacterial infection and was literally begging for some immediate treatment with antibiotics. The doctor I saw (not Shaikh), tested for covid (I never got the results) and discussed the possibility of Amoxicillin but sent me on my way saying she would consult with Shaikh and let me know how to proceed, she also gave me a way to collect a sputum sample from my cough if possible. She did no other testing. 24 hours later I was informed that they wouldn't give me any Antibiotics until I was able to deliver a sample (from a deep, very unproductive cough). I knew I needed a different level of care so I decided to go to an alternative provider and was tested for Covid, RSV and Strep throat and received results in 45min. The result ws positive for strep and I was immediately given a solid antibiotic and feeling better writhing 36 hours! Thank goodness I decided to take my care into my own hands and go to what I believe is a much more functional competent health care provider other than Soluna Health. I have now changed to a PPO that will allow more flexibility and better choices when it comes to Primary care physicians.

I decided to come here for a full spa day as a treat on my birthday. I booked a massage and wanted to hang out and use all the amenities available. I left very disappointed. I booked a deep tissue massage. I expected a relaxing and meditative experience, and let my masseuse know that I struggle with shoulder pain from playing tennis for years. He proceeded to walk me through a sort of physical therapy session? Like, imagine doing the physical therapy exercises/reps for tennis elbow. I'm not sure if this is a normal thing to do during a deep tissue massage but it wasn't exactly relaxing. I also don't think it was very effective since those sessions are typically done multiple times. He barely worked on the rest of my body and only focused on my right shoulder. After he was done, he didn't give me any time to relax by myself before telling me to get dressed and that my hour was up. After my massage session, I decided to use the hot tub and relax in the lobby, which was fine. There were minimal complimentary refreshments compared to some other spas i've been to. I wanted to get ready for the rest of my birthday (dinner with friends) at the spa so I decided to wash my hair. I brought my own hair dryer and my makeup products. In the middle of my shower, the power completely went out. There was no announcement from the attendants about what was going on. They just continued on as usual. I rinsed my hair out (in the dark!) but it was still wet and needed to be dried immediately. After asking an attendant, they said the power goes off regularly and that they had no clue when it would be back on. If I had known this, I would never have tried to get ready at the spa! I might not have even booked there. I had to leave the spa early and go home because my hair was very time sensitive. I did not get comped. I didn't even get an apology. I walked out of the spa into the cold day with fully wet hair on my birthday. Definitely not worth the price point it's at and should come with a warning tag about the power outages.
