After purchase, you're given a key for the shoe locker, uniform, and towel. From there you go to the men's or women's locker room and that same key opens your clothes locker. Your gender specific pool is right off that locker room and clothing is optional. It is a bit of a maze to get to the saunas, cafe, and restaurant (Signage or instructions would be helpful) to the saunas! I did the red clay and got to lay in beads in a room that was 142 degrees, relaxing ! From there I went up the stairs to my massage. The best 30 minute massage in my life! Yes she is walking on you with the most talented toes and heels. It felt like a trip to the chiropractor and masseuse in one!! Please be aware of the pricing. A tip is expected and if you don't know and guess at a gratuity that's not close to the mark, you'll hear about it (ask me how I know ;).

I've been coming to and loving the relaxation of Spa World since they opened--more than 15…read moreyears--and I'm incredibly disappointed by how much the prices have increased while the quality and customer service have declined. The bade pool has always been one of my favorite parts of Spa World and is normally around 95-98°F, a comfortable temperature for soaking before a Korean body scrub. Today it was hovering between 102-103°F--essentially hot-tub temperature. Even the kiddie pool was too hot. In the middle of a D.C.-area heat wave, who wants to come inside from 90+ degree weather and soak in 102-degree water? On a Sunday, the usually busy bade pool was practically empty, with people instead hovering around the ice plunge because there really wasn't a comfortable-temperature pool to use. I let the attendant know and another staff member. No change. This is especially frustrating because you're supposed to soak for about 30 minutes before a body scrub to soften the skin. I couldn't comfortably do that and had to use the showers instead. Management showed no interest in adjusting the pool temperature or otherwise addressing the problem. I was still paying the now-$150 price for my 50-minute spa special scrub. I simply asked that they refund my $25 admission because the primary facility I came to use was essentially unusable. The manager looked at me like my request was ridiculous and refused and insisted the temperature of the main pool fluctuates. (Of course it does, but NOT THAT HOT!) After more than 15 years as a loyal customer, it's astonishing that Spa World would rather lose me as a customer than address the problem or refund $25. I won't be back.

She asked how long of a massage I wanted and I replied 60 min. She took my payment up front and asked if I wanted a table shower. I nodded and began to strip down and put a towel around my waist. After signing my payment, I was escorted to a small tiled room with a padded table. She took my towel and instructed me lay down on my stomach. Warm water was poured all over my backside and then scrubbed throughly from neck to toes. After a warm rinse, I turned over on my back, so my frontside could be scrubbed. She didn't miss anywhere. She had me stand up for a final rinse and then towel dried my entire body including my toes! She then led me back the room and prepared the table. On my stomach again, she worked in the oil to my sore muscles all over my backside and put a hot towel on my back as she massaged my feet. I felt so relaxed. I turned over so she could get my frontside from neck to my bare toes. She even got my chest and stomach. She finished by stretching my arms and legs, even putting my socks back on my cold bare feet. I thanked as I began to dress. She brought me a bottle of water which I chugged. Will definitely be back!

I've seen a few reviews that reference too hard or too soft. trust me...if you communicate with the employees, they will adjust to your needs. I have a lot of injuries and associated metal plates and s Rees in my back and one leg. I simply tell them where to avoid, where to focus and how much pressure I am looking for. they are alway polite and more than willing to please me. Second..... the establishment is always very clean and has a positive vibe. the rooms are cleane, the sheets are clean and the employees appear clean and professional. My frustration is the inconsistent pricing and repeated upselling of oil and hot stones. My first $60 massage came with a $20 oil add-on. I looked for best local massages near me and found Serendipity. Reading through the profiles of the massage therapists I was intrigued by Tonya, mainly for what I interrupted as would be a hard massage experience. My muscles definitely needed a hard touch, not just a relaxing massage. I appreciated the extra attention to the sore spots I noted. The process upon arrival was unclear. It was about 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment time that I made contact with an employee and was immediately helped. I'd return again in the future and recommend Tonya to anyone not afraid of a more pronounced touch to the massage.

Unfortunately, what I anticipated would be a relaxing and enjoyable experience turned out to be an incredibly disappointing one. Prior to my appointment, I specifically indicated that my problem areas were my upper and lower back. However, my massage therapist spent nearly half the session massaging my scalp, which was neither my primary concern nor where I wanted the focus of my treatment. And because my boyfriend was already relaxed, I did not want to disrupt the energy and tell her to stop working on my scalp. To make matters worse, my hair was left in a terrible state afterward. It was frizzy, tangled, matted, and shedding excessively, and my scalp was incredibly itchy and irritated. I invest a considerable amount of time and money into maintaining my hair, so leaving a spa appointment with my hair in this condition was beyond frustrating. I resorted to putting it in a ponytail to manage the mess. What disappointed me even more was the lack of follow-up from management. I made numerous attempts to speak with the manager to address my concerns and give the establishment an opportunity to rectify the situation. On one occasion, I was assured that I would receive a callback, which never happened. I've had plenty of massages over the years, and this was easily my most disappointing experiences. Between the treatment itself and the complete lack of accountability afterward, I have no intention of returning.
