The other day my buddy brought me here; and it was GREAT! (Yes he's known about it for 3yrs and frequently went without me...A$$#%&@ !! It's a gas station diner. From the outside it looks like a rough truck stop surrounded by farm trucks and big rigs. And on the inside it's no-frills but the smell of good food lingers everywhere and sounds of hustling people coming and going. Ordering is done at the counter, the staff were amazingly friendly and the quality of food could stand alone as purely Awesome...home-cooking at its Very Beat!! It's filling and fair priced most items under $10. At certain times of the day finding an open table is impossible!! Yesterday I had a hamburger steak covered with brown gravy and grilled onions with fries. Today it was fried catfish and a salad. Honestly the food was so good from the day before, I had to come try something different. Anyway if you're looking for a unique experience in a diner setting out in the almost complete middle of nowhere, and/or looking for friendly service almost beyond friendly though like you're family, and/or looking for some Really Great Hill Country Homestyle cooking...then come check out Pruitt's!! In total the cost of the food alone was $21 minus drinks. The service was nice with lots of smiling faces and quick with us getting the food within 3 minutes. However, that did not make up for the food itself. They added sour cream to both plates. The beef was underseasoned & overcooked. The tortilla chips tasted bad, the sour cream tasted bad. Every bit of the food wasn't just bland, it tasted bad. Lastly, not long after eating a little bit of it I got food poisoning. For quality of food like this, it shouldn't even be sold. There's cheaper, better tasting food all over Killeen. We were so hungry and this was so disappointing. Do not waste your money.

So today 9/04/19, I decide to go in and get something to snack on for class that I'm in. I get two tornados and two packs of grandma cookies. Had no issue with the tornadoes this time but they usually say still cooking. Grab the cookies without looking at them. Get back to school and pull one pack out and notice that it was freaking open. At this point I'm upset but I say to myself maybe I did it or something so then I decide to do a taste test. Worst freaking decision of the week!
