Had just driven in from Fort Worth, and I needed a bathroom and coffee break. Having not been in the Gatesville area for almost 25 years, the town looked totally different from what I remember. (Don't really remember anything of what I saw.) I walked in, ordered from the self-kiosk, and waited for the large coffee I ordered. McDonald's coffee is actually quite delicous, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff and other customers were very friendly and helpful. I see a bunch of bad reviews here and just thought I would pass along my experiences here. I have always had good service, friendly service, fast and accurate. I use the indoor counter ordering. I'm not a fan of drive through because fast food staff are usually in such a hurry to keep the line moving that mistakes are more prevalent. I prefer going inside and dining in. I believe the staff knows you will be there in case they mess up your order so they take more care but that's just my two cents. I usually stop in during late mornings and order breakfast. The dining room area is always clean including the tables. I also see staff bussing tables and keeping them clean while I am eating. read more

ordered on the mobile app. drove into town was handed my order using the drive through. got home, and was shorted one of the two sausage biscuits that i ordered. called and spoke to the manager and asked they take off one sausage biscuits. they said they wouldn't do that. she said i'd have to come back by. asked her if she was gonna pay my gas?? Worst service ever.. wait in the drive thru 25 minutes, while cars that pulled in after us get their order taken before us. the wait is so long I call the actual McDonalds (I'm told they have one cook). I can understand being short handed what I can not understand is the inconsistency of the drive-through, having to wait for our food when others are getting their food, the very old fries (there's only one cook they should be to order and fresh) and employees outside taking breaks and no napkins no sauce or WE ARE SORRY!! So I would like to tell people about the customer service and portion sizing which is why it is a 2 star review. The guy at the window after I asked for 2 ranches, he told me it was 50 cents then proceeded to grunt and sigh when I said okay I'll buy it. This McDonald's is probably the worst I've ever been too and why I say this is because they are always short staffed so it's slow, they have 1 girl running in and out taking orders and bagging the food while I see at least 1 managers just sitting around on her phone. If you wanted to go through the drive through, you might wanna bring a pillow cause it's gunna take at least 5 minutes until they take your order. If I could give NO STARS, I would. This McDonald's is the worst. Employees are extremely rude. If they get the order right, which they rarely do, the food is cold and old. If you tell them the order is wrong or if you tell them it's cold, they get very angry at the customer! It's not the customer who is serving the food! We went in this weekend with my grandchildren and order 3 regular meals that included fries and a drink. We also ordered two happy meals. We were dining in the dining area. When the employee brought the order the n one tray, we noticed immediately that there were no fries. We asked where the fries were and she got a disgusted look in her face and said "let me see your receipt". I showed her where we ordered and paid for meals where the fries were included. She went to the back and brought us one order of fries. I asked "where's the other two fries!". Once again, she had an attitude and went back to the kitchen area. When she returned, she said her manager told her to check our table to make sure I didn't already have the fries. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? YOU BROUGHT THE FOOD OUT TO ME AND SAW THERE WERE NO FRIES! They were accusing me of stealing french fries! I was appalled. We asked to speak to the manager and the employee (with a really bad attitude) turns to go back to the front counter and tells, "He's mad and wants to speak to the manager". Really???? The restaurant was full of customers on a Sunday at lunch and you're acting like that?!?! You embarrassed me in front of everyone when this whole thing is YOUR FAULT? The point is that the employees there are the worst and they treat their customers (who's money goes toward their salary) badly. I'll never go back. I shouldn't get pissed off when going through the drive through at any fast food establishment, but McDonalds has a special ability to absolutely boil my blood. I do food delivery and sometimes my family wants food from there so I'm frequently going through the drive through. On a random day I use the drive through 2-3 times without a hiccup, then something special happens, the employee at the window has rotated the card reader to the outside, you know, so the customer has to swipe their own card, from their car. I find that very unprofessional and inconvenient and sometimes impossible to reach. On the day that it was impossible to reach the employee refused to take my card an swipe it, said he couldn't touch my card. Why were you standing there then? It's very similar to what happened this morning, but the lady did take and swipe my card after I attempted to swipe it but was in gear and moving towards window #2 when she yelled and said my card didn't swipe. read more

Most people go to McDonald's for consistency, price and you know what you are getting. Well, in this case not true. Every time I go my order is incorrect. Then they ask you to pull up and park and they will "bring your order out" at this point just be ready to get out and go get your order from inside because they will not ever come out.
