At some point with family, friends, colleagues most people have probably heard of this place when Texas is part of the conversation. Essentially it's a gas station with a huge store inside. Now I have to hand it to these guys, as the inside is essentially hot food, soda fountains, sweets, you name it for quick bites, that makes up about 30% of the store. Then you've got just insane amounts of Buc-ee's tourist itemsz. Pretty much almost anything you can think of they've got. We picked up a stuffed animal for my kid, some snacks, & some hot food that wasn't half bad. Pulled pork sandwich was pretty good as was the Mac n cheese. I definitely think people visiting Texas should stop into one of these while in town, lots to look through. read more

What a place!! We first visited 2 years ago on a visit to TX driving to Houston and this time, we were visiting Austin. My nephew loves this place. There is something about this Beaver that kids just love, lol. It's overwhelming because it's just huge and soo many people. The bathrooms always have a line so be prepared depending on when you visit. Clean. Take time to walk around because there is soo much stuff!! Our favorite really are the fresh made potato chips. They have a great crunch and makes an easy snack while driving. Nephew also enjoys the brisket. We always get some jerky since they have so many different flavors and you can sample! I do wish they had more samples of their stuff. If I can sample, I'm more likely to buy. Our last trip, I feel like they had more items for sample. So this may vary depending on when you go. We traveled over a long weekend so I think that would help sales. You should be able to find something you like here, lol. read more

"Willy Wonka Walmart" is how I describe this energetic, bright, and well-organized superstore full of inexpensive junk you think you need, all because its masterful marketing linked it to a rodent. Plus everyone, including the workers, are happy to be there and there's no long lines. Lots of merch and food. I got a foam baseball, a flashlight key chain, a cooler bag, my $1.19 XL Diet Dr. Pepper, and Beaver Nuggets for the neighbors, while the wife nabbed Mini Waffle Cones and Butter Toffee Pecans, which I highly recommend. This being my third time at a Buc-ee's, I was smart enough to go hungry and got a brisket sandwich from the busy busy foodworkers. Once second largest at 60,000 square feet, this particular Buc-ee's, the relief point between Dallas and Austin, ranks 11th in size out of 54. I feel for the people who have never made it to a Buc-ee's. They're expanding and will eventually be somewhat close to you. And I don't understand the people who don't understand the appeal. It's a destination! Walmart meets Cracker Barrel with barbecue and jerky and a thousand gas pumps. You have to try it. I've now been to more than a dozen across the United States and I still get excited to step inside. Beaver Nuggets. Clean restrooms. Jerky. Fudge. A large brass beaver out front. Apparently there is a bad time to stop at Buc-ee's. When the whole family has just had a large BBQ lunch nearby. So no one is thirsty, hungry, or needs to use the bathroom. The car also did not need gas. Having been to one before we still couldn't pass up the opportunity to stop. The kids needed new shirts and we needed new cups and a few souvenirs for friends and family. Missed out on all the goodies, but enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. Never pass it up! read more

I love this Buc-ee's. I didn't used to like this chain very much, but being in Temple has made me fond of it. I want my med school gala to be here. It's huge and overwhelming and overstimulating. It's the epitome of America/Texas. Big and unhealthy. We came out of our way to get some snacks and drinks to sneak into the movie theatre. Their fountain drinks and Icees are so cheap. Had already stopped at the Buc-ee's in Luling, but I needed gas and a bathroom break. The place was so packed I had to wonder what the fire inspector would say about the maximum capacity of the building. Ha ha! In spite of the hoards of people, I was thankfully able to get in and out in a timely manner. Buc-ee's staff had it all under control obviously. No task is apparantly too big for them. I heard a lot about this place for the last few years that I had to make my way out when I knew we were doing the drive from Austin to Dallas! Typical Bucees, but very very crowded in a Thanksgiving holiday weekend. I wouldn't go here in a holiday. The bathroom line was out to the END of the building, just wow and see the photo I took for validation. Nevertheless, the checkout lines were not long at all. Good planning Bucees! read more

What can I say about Buc-ee's that hasn't already been said? But holy cow... this place is something else. You don't just stop here, you experience it. Every time I walk in, I end up meeting some of the coolest people -- folks who will straight-up spark a conversation with you about how awesome this place is, like we're all part of the same little roadside cult. The place is spotless, like they hired an entire military unit whose only mission is to keep the floors shining. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and honestly feels like family the way they greet you with that "we got you" energy. And let's talk about convenience... the gas is cheap, the lines move fast, and they somehow have everything you need and everything you didn't even know you needed. Overall: 4.4/5 Great service & rest stop! We were on a long late-night drive and stopped by Buc-ee's to grab some food and use the restroom. Buc-ee's is always clean, and I love their red/green light system that lets you know if a stall is available. My husband and I shared the Big Buckin' Brisket Sandwich ($13.99). They gave us small containers of onions, pickles, and a 10 oz BBQ sauce for free, which usually cost $0.25 each. I didn't think the onions and pickles were enough; there should definitely be double the amount for a sandwich this size. The BBQ sauce portion was sufficient though. The brisket itself was juicy and flavorful, with a generous amount of meat. The bun paired really well with it too. read more

Who doesn't love Buc-ee's? I was in Killeen and noticed Buc-ee's wasn't too far from where I was, thought I thought I would detour a little to get gas, and shop for some Buc-ee's goodies. First time seeing a Buc-ee's! It's enormous! They have many many flavors of soda but only a couple of sugar-free options. Was hoping they might have a sugar-free slurpee, but they did not. Then I thought, well I'm in Texas, I should get iced tea but then they did not have sliced lemons. I saw a number of people getting the iced coffee so I went with that but upon the first sip, it really wasn't very good so I wasn't able to take it my usual black and had to add creamer. They do have a ton of creamer, syrups and other flavors which seems to be the Buc-ee's way to make up for the bad coffee. The bathroom was just okay, not as good as Maverick. It was interesting that it's also a shopping destination. I'd never seen carts at a gas station before. There's a large gift shop akin to what you'd find at Cracker Barrel. The roasted nuts were pretty tempting. They were also assembling pulled pork sandwiches in the middle of the store but as a vegetarian, they certainly weren't catering to me. Around the pumps and in the parking lot is really disorganized. Needs stop signs, lanes, and/or crosswalks. Too much just open pavement, not clear who has right of way. Interesting novelty but I wouldn't go out of my way to go to another one. I also don't understand the no-truckers thing, why make a stand on this? Buc-ees has gone from really good to very inconsistent. One of the few places to have Dr Pepper Zero on their fountains (one of four at least), it's only actually in stock half the time. Nobody can seem to figure out it repeatedly sells out and order and stock enough to keep it flowing. My final and 2nd Buc-ee's stop at Temple, Texas. If I could go to all the Buc-ee's, I would as each one may be bigger or smaller and inventory differences. They have a Penny machine in the back of the kids section that I had a hard time using, but an employee helped me out. So I didn't lose the money I put inside. Makes a nice souvenir! It was still too early and I never had a chance to eat a pulled pork brisket sandwich here. So sad. all the hot food looks good and better than those yuckie truck stops you see out in the road. Here today with two friends visiting Texas for the first time and of course, Bucees has to be on the list. I've been to many Bucees and they all delight and have me filling up my cart with goodies for the family. Our son is an Aggie so I picked up a couple of shirts. Picked up some random fun for the grandkids and a Bucees coffee tumbler for my honey. I resisted buying any food items but the two friends did. Had to make a stop at the infamous Buc-cee's if only to check out the amazing bathroom at this popular Texas icon. You can find almost everything here from snacks to hot sandwiches and the fresh potato chips (yummy but kinda oily) to logo clothing and Texas memorabilia. Definitely appreciated the clean bathroom with 30 or so stalls since it meant no long lines! My companion enjoyed sampling fresh beef jerky and then purchased the packaged version to take home to Hawai'i. He also found a retro print design Buc-cee's board shorts that was supah cute. Props to this location. I came down about a month ago headed to San Antonio for work. I had just left Waco. It was early in the morning, I needed a car wash, and paid for one. When I drove over it said 8AM for car wash. I thought oh crap, what a waste. The receipt stated good for a year. Fast forward a month. I was driving back up through. Stopped off for a fuel top off and to use the facilities, and remembered my receipt. The car wash was open. I entered my code it said invalid on the screen. I pushed the help button, a young guy walked over took my receipt tried to enter the code. Didn't work. Entered a code and got me my car wash. Excellent customer service. 12.26.25: Stopped en route to San Antonio from Waco. It was super packed but given it was a travel weekend I'm not surprised. They were able to organize a line to get through the ladies to move quickly. There's so many snacks, drinks and chips along with Buc-ee's merch. On our way from Dallas to San Antonio it was the one stop I made my friend do. This was my first time in a Buc-ee's and I loved it. What didn't I get is more of the question. They have literally everything plus more. Besides the tshirts I picked up, my cart also included a cup of banana pudding, a chopped brisket sando, bucee beaver nuggets, and warm caramelized pecans. Only reason I took off a star is because how incredibly PACKED it gets during the day, and because the day I came the bathroom was actually closed for cleaning and that was the only thing I actually needed so I ended up holding it another hour to get to the next bucees.
