What I got: Beaver Nuggets (~$5) Chopped Brisket Sandwich (~$9) Aya's take: I've always heard about the institution that is Buc-ee's and was super excited to finally see one on our road trip from Austin to Dallas! We obviously had to stop by to use their "World Famous" Restrooms and pick up a few treats! There was a plethora of snacks & food items to choose from but I decided to go with their popular Beaver Nuggets and Chopped Brisket Sandwich. The Beaver Nuggets are these sweet, crunchy corn puffs coated in a buttery caramel glaze. They were unfortunately way too sweet for my liking. You get a huge bag for ~$5; I wish they had a smaller option so that I can try it without the sugar overload guilt. The Chopped Brisket Sandwich was decent but the BBQ sauce was again too sweet for my liking. If I had the sandwich as soon as it was made and packed, I think I would've liked it a lot more. Again, the California mind cannot comprehend the wonder that is Buc-ee's. This was actually the first one that I got to visit when I was in Texas and our group had the opportunity to go back again for a second visit during our trip. Lots of parking, gas pumps, and super clean and stocked restroom stalls, this is a must stop for your Texas road trip or vacation. The iconic beaver statue is in front for photo ops as well as a Halloween inflatable photo op and with the truck and bench in the merchandise section of the shop as well. Not all Buc-ee's are created equal either, with this one and the other one we visited having different merchandise in stock, so it is worth it to visit. As this is one of the newer larger ones, you are complete stocked with whatever that you need, including the hot deli foods and glazed nuts area, fudge made in house, fresh jerky, baked goods, a nice wall of fountain drinks, a coffee station, and so much more. Yes, the snacks, food, and merch are all great and I was playing a capitalistic fool who CONSUMED and CONSUMED, but what the true shining star for Buc-ee's would be would be the employees at this location who are so friendly and kind. The older gentleman who checked us out took the time to let us know that the tags for some of our shirts and merchandise were stickers and Myra gave our group Buc-ee stickers and engaged in some fun, warm small talk. We love stopping at Buc-ee's during a long road trip for gas as well as for their sliced brisket sandwich. This one in Temple did not disappoint. It is right off I35z. Huge gas station, must've had at least 50 to 60 pumps. Inside is spacious and lively. The bathrooms are super clean! All Bucee's are pretty awesome. There's a lot of gas pumps and the food options are amazing. The convenience section for drinks and snacks are impressive with lots of options. Great place! Great gas prices! And fun to walk around and shop when making a pit stop. I like I can use my Apple pay at the gas pumps and their restrooms are clean unless someone was just disgusting right before you and they don't get a chance to get in there - it's so busy. Their energy drinks are cheaper than most places and same goes for their gas prices. I haven't seen premium under $3.89 in quite some times so I'm glad I stop by on my way through and look forward to it. read more

For someone that is not a native to Texas, Bucee's is a tourist destination. The massive amount of gas stations and then attach a Walmart to it without the produce section is what you have here. Missing flip flops? They got you covered. Need fishing gears or camping equipment? They got you covered. Maybe you fancy a doormat or some home goods ornament. You'll find the most random thing here. Aside from that, they're known for their housemate jerky. I go for their Arnold Palmer that they have on tap. Unfortunately I did not "risk it for the brisket", but grabbed some road beer and snacks. I'm a Buc-ee's freak. Really. I had to run an errand to Temple and my justification was "oh I can stop at Buc-ee's!" This place was a ZOO (more than usual), but to be expected on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I have NEVER seen a line to the ladies restroom that wrapped around the store before, but even so maybe 10 minute wait for those super clean potties. I loaded up on t-shirts, snacks, yummy fudge, flannel Christmas PJs & was on my way. I love Buc-ee's! My friend makes fun of me because a 4 hour drive turns into 6 since I want to stop at all the Buc-ee's. read more

Well on the way to Hillsboro, TX to meet friends for lunch stopped to get gas, which was $2.29 a gallon great price. Did not have a problem finding a pump to use everything worked out well. On the way back stopped again to actually walk the store in the past always getting gas, bathroom break, some food then back on the road. This time we walked around and spent about an hour and a half just looking at things. Found some gifts to bring home for friends of ours. so many items to choose from, love the seasonal displays and then there is all of the Buc-Ee's merchandise. Love these stores and all that they bring to the customers. Staff is always so helpful and willing to go the extra step when every you ask them to find something. Never hear " this is not my department". Keep up the great work team you guys are knocking it out of the park. read more

Had an interesting experience while we here. We were planning on using the car wash, but were unable to because there was a tiny kitten that had gotten into the car wash. When the employees were trying to get him out, he got very scared and climbed into the middle of one of the brushes. The guys running the car wash jumped right into action as soon as we told them. Unfortunately they had to shut the car wash down. The three star rating isn't for the car wash, it's because the bathroom was dirty. Sinks weren't working it seemed like everyone was using a couple of sinks where everything was working and there were three or four toilets that were gross. Overall it was an okay experience. In the end it's a really big overcrowded convenience store. read more

This place has mountains of fun things. Look out for their hilarious billboards and definitely take a break to check it out. Lots of parking, lots of gas pumps, but most important, clean bathrooms, and lots of them. They seem to be making food all the time. I'm giving it 3 stars based on the brisket sandwiches only! Everything else is good. I will admit that these Gas Stores are amazing! Clean, organized and friendly staff. I love stopping here for gas and goodies. I have a complaint about the Chopped Brisket sandwich. I always buy the chopped pork sandwich but decided to have the brisket this time around- the brisket has alot of fat pieces mixed in with the meat (just awful) some soft and some hard pieces of fat or brine. It has too much bbq sauce and it's a whooping $14.95 WOW! That's pretty steep and it wasn't that great. I've had better chopped brisket sandwiches elsewhere. The sliced turkey, chopped pork is awesome. I also heard other customer ask if all the sandwiches had bbq sauce in them- Maybe considering leaving out the fat and letting customers put their own bbq sauce would be the best way to go. read more

There are lines just to get into the parking lot for Buckys, off to Entrance areas. From the service drive of 35 as well as the exit for the gas station. The claim along the billboards is that there's gas for days. The store front is huge. It looks bigger than any of the ones that we've done in the past. Parking may be a little little bit of a challenge. This is probably only the second or third time we've been to a Bucee's but the first time in Texas. No wait for gas, as advertised. The women's bathroom line is beyond ridiculous, it's backed up by maybe 50 women, the line for the men's doesn't exist at all. It's so long they have a staff to make sure ladies don't try to cut the line and to announce the women's line is along the curve to the entrance. At least it's moving. I think they need to double the women's line to avoid such lines. Their BBQ sauce is quite sweet, it's filling. It's not too bad, meat isn't too dry. Their BBQ turkey sliced sandwich was pretty good. Their BBQ sauce is quite sweet. Picked up some candied cinnamon cashews, chili pistachios, Wallaby strawberry licorice, small beaver nuggets. $29.73 and then gas too. Am I part of the secret society now that Buc-ee`s the beaver has been paid homage ? I am not sure what to rate them because honestly its just a giant gas station - you get gas , you get snacks and yes there is a mile long line for the facilities but that's about it . The above mentioned line does move fast despite feeling that it will take hours. Everything is clean and neat and well organized. Snacks everywhere because gas station is another name for snack stations . We did get a bunch of things to try and some of them are still sitting in my pantry even after 4 months . Man. I love Buc-ees. I always love to go when traveling anywhere. But this one disappointed me big time. Read on a sign, $1.00 a gallon off gas with car wash purchase. The ol car needed a good scrub with all the rain so I'm like great deal. Driving up, there's no obvious signage on how to go about the discount, so I drive slowly by pumps thinking maybe there's a sign there. Nope. Go over to car wash, no sign there either. Hoping to ask someone at the car wash but it's all automated till you get inside. So, I just purchase the wash hoping I'm doing it right. Go to pump gas and OF COURSE it gives me an option to buy a car wash from the pump! So frustrating. Thinking hey, maybe they can still give me the discount inside I save both my reciepts. Well, slap me sideways and call me a polecat, 'cause this Texan has stumbled upon the promised land of provisions and vittles when it comes to this here Buc-ee's! This place serves up the best BBQ brisket breakfast tacos in all of Texas, or anywhere else, for that matter. Tender, smoky brisket wrapped in a warm tortilla. Doesn't sound like much, but I declare, it's tasty enough to make even the toughest cowboy shed a tear of joy. If the BBQ ain't enough to make an ol' outlaw's heart sing, well, they got these little morsels of joy called Beaver Nuggets. Savory, salty, and sweet all at the same time, they're downright addictive - these crunchy treats are like finding gold nuggets in a creekbed. I couldn't stop poppin' 'em in my mouth, and I reckon I left with more than a few bags to keep me company on the trail. They also have boxes of cookies that are shaped like critters from the wild called Beaver Buddies Animal Cookies. But here's the kicker: there ain't no cows or horses in that box, just a bunch of other exotic-like critters. I couldn't help but chuckle at the irony, but I'll be darned if those cookies weren't tasty as all get out. Now, brace yourself for the pièce de résistance: The WALL of BEEF JERKEY! It's like a museum dedicated to the arts of dried meat. They got flavors from here to kingdom come, from Bohemian Recipe Garlic to Hill Country Brand Mesquite and many more. I spent a good while just standin' there... It's a jerky lover's dream come true. And even the call of nature is a pleasant affair here. As I made my way to the restrooms, I stumbled upon a hallway adorned with artwork for sale. Paintings of Texas landscapes and cowboys, sculptures of horses, and more. It was like a gallery right in the middle of this bustling emporium to the potty. I couldn't help but tip my hat to the talent on display. Their restrooms are big enough to fit a whole army, and cleaner than a preacher's conscience. I reckon they got more porcelain thrones than I've seen in any other establishment. It was a downright comfort after a dusty ride in, and the entire outhouse was clean as a whistle! Not that I need it due to the fact I ride my horse everywhere I go, but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the gas pumps. Buc-ee's has got more pumps than there are stars in the Texas sky. Well, it's at least over a hundred, which is a mighty lot of pumpers in one place, no matter where you're from! So, if you ever find yourself in the great state of Texas, do yourself a favor and head straight for a Buc-ee's. It's a slice of heaven for hungry cowpokes like me. A great place to stop by when going to Austin/San Antonio. I love Buc-ee's. This is why everyone in Texas takes joy in this place. They have friggn everything here. Snacks, clothes, cow mats, deer corn feed, you name it. Plus the food is prepped fresh as well. My personal favorite is their Jalepeno Honey Beef Jerky. You can't get it anywhere else and it's AMAZING. Always grab at least 2 bags of their famous Beaver Nuggets. Those things are addicting. If you are heading North of Austin or South of DFW this is your only Buc-ee's on I-35 until they open another location in Hillsboro. This location is similar in layout to the larger buc-ees and it's located right outside of Temple too. Plenty of parking and gas pumps. There are plenty is Tesla chargers too and I didn't see very many cars charging there on a Wednesday morning. This is a great place to stretch your legs and make a restroom stop. The breakfast tacos cost a little more than I'm used too closer to $5 and the sausage on a stick was $7.50. read more

Sunday. March 19, 2023. Lunch. This gas station and convenience store had everything. A line of cars from the freeway exit waited to enter Buc-ee's. We didn't have to wait long though as the parking lot had loads of parking spaces. About fifty covered gasoline pumps allow guests to fill their tanks. A pewter beaver statue greeted guests entering the store. There were t-shirts, nic nacs, signs, and other tourist novelty items for sale. They had coolers, barbecue grills, wood, and other cooking accessories. Adult beverages, colas, Icees, energy drinks, coffees and teas. I saw cinnamon covered pecans, cashews and almonds. An amazing selection of sweets, beef jerky, trail mixes, and desserts. They had bbq sandwiches, Beaver nuggets and a selection of frozen foods. Buc-ee's is known for the "Cleanest Bathrooms in America". I can attest to this because I visited the men's bathroom, and it was super clean. My wife and I bought some fudge ($3.78 a piece) and it turned out to be super sweet. We bought lunch there: a big buckin' brisket sandwich ($12.99) for me, chopped bbq brisket sandwich ($8.49) for her, Beaver chips ($2.29) basically potato chips, and a coconut pie cup ($3.99). My chopped brisket sandwich had loads of brisket and a tangy bbq sauce. It really tasted moist and beefy. The fried potato chips were okay, just a bit greasy. That coconut pie cup tasted so good (we shared it) that we bought two more for dinner. We bought the beaver nuggets ($4.98) which tasted like Crackerjacks. We purchased a frozen chicken stuffed with etouffee for dinner. After cooking it, we thought the etouffee stuffing with crawfish was a perfect addition to the moist chicken. We also bought the frozen jalapeno cheddar sausage. I heated this on the bbq grill in our Airbnb and sliced it thin. Everyone in my family loved it. We wanted to buy more but there were no Buc-ee's along our return route to New Mexico. We also gassed up. They have reasonably priced gas. If you are traveling and see a Buc-ee's, stop in. There are now Buc-ee's in several states besides Texas. Give the brisket sandwich, coconut pie, frozen, etouffee stuffed chicken and smoked jalapeno cheddar sausage a try. Bucees is one giant beacon on the interstate. It's not just a gas station or rest stop. They sell many of their own prepackaged snacks along with other rest stop fare. There's a full service bakery, BBQ restaurant, gift shop and all around great place to stop. This place is huge. There has to be about 30 gas pumps. Pictures don't do it justice though I tried. It's also very clean and efficient. Plus It's true. This place really does have the nicest bathrooms. Don't be intimidated by the size or length of lines. It's worth the stop. read more

This is another great location to stop at, with plenty of fuel pumps, acres of parking, and the enormous emporium inside the store with clean restrooms and a never-ending supply of pop, coffee, snacks, and whatever else suits your fancy.
