12.26.25: Stopped en route to San Antonio from Waco. It was super packed but given it was a travel weekend I'm not surprised. They were able to organize a line to get through the ladies to move quickly. There's so many snacks, drinks and chips along with Buc-ee's merch. I had a brisket sandwich ($8.99) and I was delicious and packed with meat but I did find some gristle but I removed it and devoured the rest. On our way from Dallas to San Antonio it was the one stop I made my friend do. This was my first time in a Buc-ee's and I loved it. What didn't I get is more of the question. They have literally everything plus more. Besides the tshirts I picked up, my cart also included a cup of banana pudding, a chopped brisket sando, bucee beaver nuggets, and warm caramelized pecans. First off , you get to fight the traffic, then you wait for the pedestrians that ate not using the cross walks. Once you decide which line of cars you want to wait in line with because the pumps are all blocked because people are too lazy to fill up and go park. Props to this location. I came down about a month ago headed to San Antonio for work. I had just left Waco. It was early in the morning, I needed a car wash, and paid for one. When I drove over it said 8AM for car wash. I thought oh crap, what a waste. The receipt stated good for a year. Fast forward a month. I was driving back up through. Stopped off for a fuel top off and to use the facilities, and remembered my receipt. The car wash was open. I entered my code it said invalid on the screen. I pushed the help button, a young guy walked over took my receipt tried to enter the code. Didn't work. Entered a code and got me my car wash. Excellent customer service. Apparently there is a bad time to stop at Buc-ee's. When the whole family has just had a large BBQ lunch nearby. So no one is thirsty, hungry, or needs to use the bathroom. The car also did not need gas. Having been to one before we still couldn't pass up the opportunity to stop. Gas prices tend to be lower too and they have so many pumps that even if you have to wait, it's always brief (like a min or two). Only reason I took off a star is because how incredibly PACKED it gets during the day, and because the day I came the bathroom was actually closed for cleaning and that was the only thing I actually needed so I ended up holding it another hour to get to the next bucees. Me and my team went to play at nationals for football ( soccer) and we stoped here early in the morning and I just have to say their breakfast options are incredible. My first time at buccee's and I was so excited!! I feel like this is really the pinnacle of texas culture... I got a sliced brisket sandwhich and some potato chips and it was so perfect on the road. The brisket obviously isn't the best quality ever, and I was concerned that it would just be super hard and chewy and too lean, but was surprised the brisket had some fatty parts. There was a good amount of bbq sauce on it too so it wasn't too dry. The sliced brisket is a bit messy to eat, so I would opt for the chopped brisket sandwhich next time. The potato chips were a bit soggy as it tasted like they didn't drain all the oil out of them. But it tasted good with the sandwhich. Went on New Year's Day and it extremely busy. While we didn't wait on a gas station, we did wait for the restroom which was astonishing. Paper towels were out and lines were long. CHICKEN WRAP BROKE MY TOOTH! I have always had good experiences with Buccees, but the last time I stopped, I went and grabbed a chicken wrap. Something from the cold section, because I wasn't feeling BBQ and I was in between Austin and Dallas. I get in my truck and I start my travel and unwrap my wrap when I take a bite. It's pretty good. I take another bite. Still pretty good, a little dry, probably won't get again, but I'm hungry. I take a third bite and BAM I bite into something super hard, I don't know if it was bone, gristle, or something different in the wrap, but it hurt the side of my mouth. I was instantly grossed out and set the wrap down to keep my eyes on the road. On the top left side of my mouth ift felt like I may have gotten some cabbage or some of the chicken stuck in my teeth, so I start to fish it out with my tongue, that's when I realize the and ENTIRE QUARTER OF MY TOOTH IS NOW MISSING! I'm shocked, but I keep driving, and suddenly I'm missing a chunk of my tooth. The mystery hard chunk in my wrap broke my tooth and since it broke so deep, I may have to get a whole root canal. What I got: Beaver Nuggets (~$5) Chopped Brisket Sandwich (~$9) Aya's take: I've always heard about the institution that is Buc-ee's and was super excited to finally see one on our road trip from Austin to Dallas! We obviously had to stop by to use their "World Famous" Restrooms and pick up a few treats! There was a plethora of snacks & food items to choose from but I decided to go with their popular Beaver Nuggets and Chopped Brisket Sandwich. The Beaver Nuggets are these sweet, crunchy corn puffs coated in a buttery caramel glaze. They were unfortunately way too sweet for my liking. You get a huge bag for ~$5; I wish they had a smaller option so that I can try it without the sugar overload guilt. The Chopped Brisket Sandwich was decent but the BBQ sauce was again too sweet for my liking. If I had the sandwich as soon as it was made and packed, I think I would've liked it a lot more. Again, the California mind cannot comprehend the wonder that is Buc-ee's. This was actually the first one that I got to visit when I was in Texas and our group had the opportunity to go back again for a second visit during our trip. Lots of parking, gas pumps, and super clean and stocked restroom stalls, this is a must stop for your Texas road trip or vacation. The iconic beaver statue is in front for photo ops as well as a Halloween inflatable photo op and with the truck and bench in the merchandise section of the shop as well. Not all Buc-ee's are created equal either, with this one and the other one we visited having different merchandise in stock, so it is worth it to visit. As this is one of the newer larger ones, you are complete stocked with whatever that you need, including the hot deli foods and glazed nuts area, fudge made in house, fresh jerky, baked goods, a nice wall of fountain drinks, a coffee station, and so much more. Yes, the snacks, food, and merch are all great and I was playing a capitalistic fool who CONSUMED and CONSUMED, but what the true shining star for Buc-ee's would be would be the employees at this location who are so friendly and kind. The older gentleman who checked us out took the time to let us know that the tags for some of our shirts and merchandise were stickers and Myra gave our group Buc-ee stickers and engaged in some fun, warm small talk. Good sandwiches and large clean restrooms, no doubt. The traffic around the store and parking lot is downright dangerous. No stop or yield signs. Just a free for all regarding traffic and pedestrians crossing. Have to drive around several times to find an available pump because customers leave their vehicles at the gas pumps while they shop. The food (brisket sandwiches and breakfast burritos) are very, very, good. However, they offer no place to sit and eat them. HACK-Get the sandwiches and drive down the highway a bit and there are rest areas with nice shaded picnic tables near most Buc-ee's. Buc-ee's temple location is a great spot to stop at or even a destination. As I came to this location I was greeted with a large statue of Buc-ee the beaver. This is filed with such amazing items to buy if you are traveling by car, or going home on a plane and even better items if you are local and load up your truck. The bathrooms are the cleanest you will find around, the food court offers fresh BBQ, drinks aplenty and pastry's. Great place! Great gas prices! And fun to walk around and shop when making a pit stop. I like I can use my Apple pay at the gas pumps and their restrooms are clean unless someone was just disgusting right before you and they don't get a chance to get in there - it's so busy. Their energy drinks are cheaper than most places and same goes for their gas prices. I haven't seen premium under $3.89 in quite some times so I'm glad I stop by on my way through and look forward to it. read more
