I had to fix my rear bumper and one of my parking sensors after getting hit from the back out of my own pocket because the person who hit me left before I could get her information. I actually came here for a second opinion after visiting another auto body shop, which only gave me one option--to replace my bumper (and sensor if it was broken). TK took the time to examine my car and provided me with all the possible options. He was very transparent with the potential cost, from lowest (just fixing the dent and putting the sensor back in) to highest (replacing the bumper and sensor). It really seemed like he had the customer's best interest in mind. Even though he was booked for the next two weeks, he arranged to call me when he had a small window of time, considering that I was only free this week and the damage on my car was relatively minor. All I can say is that he keeps his word. He and his crew fixed my car within several hours at the lowest price option, and I got my car back looking better than before! TK and his crew are so professional. Although I would not like to be in another situation where I have to get my car fixed, if I had to again, I would definitely come back. The best things about the whole process with Allston A/W: - Really personally pleasant, and none of the patronizing/weird looks you might get with other body shops. I was really comfortable in there, and that is 100% due to TK & Santiago being great. - Very flexible. My 2019 car needed body work after an incident in a parking lot. TK was recommended to me by my insurance broker so I took the vehicle in for a quote. The quote was fair and thorough so I scheduled the work. TK and his team did great work. The car looks as good as new. Santiago was extremely communicative throughout the process, calling me to confirm before I brought it in, keep me apprised of progress, and let me know when it was ready to pick up. I had something of a mixed experience at Allston Auto Works. Initially, I was recommended to them by the local Toyota dealership after I'd smashed up the front of my car in a low-speed collision (Tundra rear bumper vs. Prius hood and engine block - Prius loses). For the most part, the service was decently professional and easy to navigate. They also got me a discounted rate at the local Hertz. However, even without having to deal with insurance adjusters and the like (I paid out of pocket rather than pay the same cost and then some in inflated insurance premiums for the rest of my adult life), the car took nearly three weeks to be repaired, and they postponed the pickup date on me twice. I have little to no sense of perspective on what car repairs should cost, but they certainly weren't cutting me any deals. Whether this is because they're plain honest or equally willing to gouge private individuals and insurance firms alike is what remains to be seen. read more

ALLSTON AUTO WORKS IS THE BEST AUTO BODY SHOP AROUND! I have grown up in Newton and lived in and around Boston my entire life, and I have not been to a more friendly, fair, and courteous body shop. TK, the owner and lead mechanic, genuinely cares about his patrons and Annette, the office manager, goes out of her way to contact insurance companies and make sure every client feels special. Here is what happened to me today: Recently I bought a new Subaru and my headlights went out. I went to Sullivan Tire and asked how much it would cost to get new headlights and install them. The quote they came up with was over one hundred dollars. I wasn't sure but I thought those numbers were pretty steep. I went over to Allston Auto Body, and told TK what had happened at Sullivan Tire. He laughed, went to my car and found out what type of headlights my car needed. As I was greeted by Annette, he went into the back, replaced them and came out before I knew he was even fixing them. I was in and out of Allston Auto Works in less than 10 mins and the price he gave me was incredibly fair. This happened to me earlier today and as I left Allston Auto Body I told TK how well he treats his customers and that I was going to write a great yelp review about him. This is one out of the many times TK, Annette, and everybody else has gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. Its sad to say, but i had a good reference on this guys and also checked the reviews ...However they really screwed up my truck...after having the truck for over a month(40 days) i pick the truck up, with a bunch of a problems (7 items on the list) ,also paint smell that dont leave the cab,... ,brought it back with a list of problems and they still after 4 days at shop (on the return ) not able to correct it ..No paperwork explaining what they did, no explanations at all, but lots of excuses and bullshit, trying to convince me (they consume almost 1/2 tank of gas on what???)..., and truck still not complete.... Mechanical problem still there(even knowing what the problem is and promising by T K that will be replaced i guess another lying and excuses ) and other cosmetics,also they lost parts(visor) of the truck and they left left in truck part(visor) that belongs to someone-else even after telling them, part is not from the truck.... Also,Santiago promise to do extras(re paint the tailgate) so they can get they job(Almost %9k of work)...... but they play dummy after the 40 days, and no extra done...Dont trust this people ask to put in black and white if you going to use them..I notice a game between Santiago and TK so they can confuse the customers. Let me put it this way, Allston Auto works has been the best body shop i have been to so far. The owner is nice and the service quality is superb. So I had a minor accident just this past week and damaged my rear bumper. I brought the car in on Tuesday to let them take a look for appraisal and the time need to fix. The whole process was done by the owner himself and we have a little chat and find out he is pretty much a nice guy. Anyway, he asked me when could I come in for the repair. So i brought in my car on Friday and it was done by the end of the day. (I couldn't get my car back until Sat just due to can't get out of work earlier) Anyhow, I went to pick up my car and had another chat with him. To be honest, he pretty much follows up with all the customers that goes there, for a few customers came in and he all know them and what is the problem with their car by heart. At last, the price for the fix is very reasonable or I could even say below my expectation. So in conclusion, I would highly recommend people around New England Area with any auto body damage to go here to their repair.
