I'll spare all the details, but they went above and beyond to make sure my move went smoothly and when things didn't (we had a lot of moving pieces with multiple stops) they made it right. The bigger name moving companies were considerably more expensive and had hidden fees for all kinds of things (stairs, truck, weekends, etc) -- I really appreciated that Guzman's had a straightforward and well priced hourly rate without those extra fees. They had great availability and came ready to work on a hot Saturday morning with 3 men and a truck. They took great care of our belongings and furniture, wrapping everything and packing them into the truck gently. I chose Firehouse Movers because of their glowing Google reviews, and their initial estimate was very competitive. Unfortunately, the final bill was a complete shock. To begin with, they insisted on a virtual estimate and refused to come out in person and assess the job. This was a 5000 sq ft home full of furniture, and I wanted the most accurate estimate possible. I asked multiple times for an in-person estimate, but my requests were declined. By moving day, I had sold two-bedroom sets and several other large pieces of furniture that were included in the original estimate. Even with significantly fewer items to move, the final price was more than double the original estimate. On the day of the move, I somehow went from needing two trucks, as stated in the estimate, to four. And from 9 to 17 total man hours. At the end of a long day, my husband just wanted them gone, so he reluctantly paid the bill before they could log anymore hours. When I called to discuss the bill, Firehouse claimed I had verbally approved the additional associated costs over the phone, citing a recording, which was completely false. I have asked multiple times for this recording, but I have not received it. That was not a small miscalculation. Our move was grossly underestimated. This whole experience felt misleading and dishonest. Stay away.

When they got to the new home, it was about half the time to unload, hook up appliances, and rearrange furniture I requested a couple of times.
