PODS listed a number of third-party movers, which was a good place to start my research. As I investigated the companies that claim to do packing, I found that most offer only the bare minimum - like only wrapping furniture. I found Bay Area Moving & Storage on Yelp and read their webpage. I talked with Juan about my needs, and he asked all the right questions. One wrinkle is that I needed help (packing AND moving) on a specific single day, and thankfully they were available and could do it all. He gave me a complete quote, and we talked through it. The day before the move, he confirmed everything with me over the phone. Pablo and a team of three others called in the morning, and arrived on schedule with all the necessary packing supplies and equipment. The team was VERY experienced, and packed us quickly and efficiently. It's hard to believe that they got everything packed from our 2-bedroom home + garage into the POD. Some sort of crazy magic was done that day. Pablo and team were careful and attentive. He walked me through how to use the ratchet straps, and prepped everything for me to pack away mattresses the next morning - with the exact amount of space necessary left in the POD.
