I can't say enough good things about Off Leash K9 Training! Our trainer, Lindsey, was incredibly…read moreknowledgeable and made the entire process fun and engaging for both me and my pup, Ashe. Ashe at 6 months of age can be a bit of a handful , but Lindsey took the time to understand his behavior and tailored the training to his needs. After just two weeks, we noticed Ashe's confidence soar. Ashe is now much better behaved at the park, and he's responding wonderfully to commands like "sit," "place," "heel," and "come." This is the second dog I put through Off Leash K9 Training, and they truly help build trust between you and your pup. It allows you to take your pup into the world and enjoy life rather than sitting at home alone. I also love how Lindsey emphasizes the importance of consistency and makes sure we're practicing the right way at home. I feel so much more confident as a dog owner, and Ashe seems happier too! I highly recommend Off Leash K9 Training of Charlotte to anyone looking to strengthen the bond with their dog and improve both their quality of life and behavior!

She edited her videos so we could see a lot of what they worked on each day. Claire really understood Shadow and his needs. At pick up, she did a great job explaining everything to us, guiding us on how to follow through at home, and loving on Shadow one last time. You could tell he was sad to leave her. Claire was so encouraging and loving towards him. Shadow's been home less than a week and because of Claire, he is behaving so much better. He's been able to off leash and not jump on people he's greeting. Thank you so much Claire and Off Leash K9 Charlotte!

We rescued our dog, Romeo. He was almost a year old and was described as "a little shy at first"…read moreand "working on leash training but doing well." Turns out he was scared of everything. He had never been exposed to people or traffic or noise. And when he walked on a leash, I had to carry him back. I called a few dog trainers. One told me he couldn't help my dog. Period. Another told me that she'd have to take my dog away for a month (even though we'd just adopted him) and shock him. When I asked them both if they would be willing to meet him first they said no. One finally acquiesced and said if you want me to come to your house and pay me $200 to tell you what I just told you, I will. I was feeling pretty hopeless to say the least. And then my friend saw the AFDT business card. I called the number and Cailyn immediately made me feel better! She said of course we can help your dog and would be willing to meet him. Things changed during the first session. Romeo not only walked on a leash, he walked back! And our trainer taught us about our dog. She said he was the "back of the pack" and needed us to lead. And then in our next sessions, she showed us how! By the end of his training, he not only had the confidence to meet other people and dogs...he did it at a crowded brewery! Two of them! We are very grateful to AFDT and our trainer! During our first session, I told her that one of our training goals was for Romeo to be happier. I think it worked.

We just finished a four-week board and train with Carson at The Dog Knowledge. Worth every penny!…read more Not going to lie - the first couple weeks were rough on us, not him. We missed him like crazy and worried about how he was feeling. Dennis actually had us come in halfway through, showed us what Carson had been learning, and said something that I keep thinking about: Carson wasn't missing us. Not because he doesn't love us, but because dogs live in the now. He was busy, focused, doing his thing. We felt so much better after that. Carson came home happy and calm and confident. He understood the rules and felt good about it. And he wasn't (as our son put it) a "bot" now - he was the same sweet and goofy pup but now, he could follow instructions and maintain self control when we needed him to. The staff were also straight with us about the fact that he'd have setbacks. That's normal. They spent a lot of time explaining what you do when it happens. In fact, they spent almost an entire day with all the families at graduation - going over what the dogs learned, getting you hands on practicing how to do it, answering questions, and really teaching a ton of helpful information. We're about to set up our in-home training visit, which will be for all of us, including our three kids - really great to get everyone aligned with Carson's training. The Dog Knowledge is fantastic! We are members now and plan to board our dog with them whenever we go on vacation. I cannot imagine trusting any place like we trust them.

A friend of ours had just…read moregotten a puppy for her children and the apartment complex where she was living wouldn't allow her to keep the puppy so my husband and I wound up with this beautiful little puppy. We named her Daisy May. Daisy was exactly what we needed in our lives. She is truly a blessing. We had been talking back and forth about getting Daisy to a trainer so that she could be with us at work. We just didn't want to be without her all day. So I was reading an ad on Nextdoor Rubin Center and I called the number and I spoke to Mike Letterman on the phone and wanted to meet us and Daisy. As soon and Lance and I met Mike we just knew this is where we wanted Daisy to be trained, by Mike Letterman with Down Boy Down K9. The only thing we were hung up on was being without Daisy for two whole weeks but we know this is the route we needed to take. Mike took Daisy for two weeks and brought her back to us. We were amazed with the way Daisy learned her commands - because she was a stubborn dog. While she still can be stubborn, when we tell her Sit, Here, Place and all her different commands - she listens. She just knows! Mike spent some time with Lance and I teaching us what he taught Daisy and the commands he uses and the steps we take to continue the training. Daisy is wonderful and delightful. She is loved by everyone that comes to the office. We work at American Store & Lock # 5 on South Tryon Street in Charlotte NC and our customers will come to the office to see our Daisy May - they just love her so. We call her our therapy dog. She gets so excited when people come to the office she will get up and greet them to make a friend. We are so thankful we found Mike Letterman with Down Boy Down K9. He absolutely does a phenomenal job with training dogs and when the two weeks are up, it doesn't end there. He still calls to check on Daisy and checks on us to see how things are going and if we need any help in any areas. Mike is just a great guy and he is great at what he does and he truly enjoys his work. We made a friend for life with Mike and Shannon Letterman and our life with Daisy is an absolute treasure. Thank you Mike for all you do for us and for Daisy May!
