I tried dealing with another propane service that already had a tank on a property I purchased in N. San Diego County. My call was answered by an automated phone answering system that put me on hold. After a long time on hold, a person in some other state took my call. That person couldn't answer the most basic questions without putting me on hold so they could, "Look that up," or "check with the local provider." Eventually, I had a vague idea of what it might cost to use their services and an appointment for them to fill the tank. The day before my appointment, I was notified they wouldn't be showing up and that they would contact me to make new arrangements. Three weeks later, I still had not heard from them. Meanwhile, I noticed a lot of my neighbors were using All State Propane, so I gave them a call. What a difference. Very personable on the phone. Answered all my questions. Clearly explained their services, costs (which were less than the first place I called) and billing options. I made an appointment for them to install one of their tanks right away. They called the day before the appointment to confirm and again to give us a heads-up 40-minutes before arriving. Ben, the installer, obviously knew what he was doing as he skillfully craned the new tank over structures and plants and under trees to get it into the same spot the old tank had been in, so we didn't have to run any new gas pipes! About 20-minutes after the tank was install and tested by Ben, the All State Propane tank truck showed up to fill up our new tank and we were good-to-go! So far, my whole experience with All State Propane has been exceptional. Everyone has been super nice, knowledgeable and pleasant to work with and... the price is right! My home in East County San Diego has run on Propane since I purchased it in 1988. I won't name the prior provider we used for the prior 10 years or so, but will simply say I got fed up with its terrible service and high prices. I also tired of renting my 500 gallon tank, so I started shopping for a tank to buy. After making a bunch of calls to a bunch of vendors, I found that All State offered the best price for my new tank. What I didn't expect when I bought the tank two years ago was that All State would continue to provide customer service that shines PLUS pricing on propane that made it easy to select All State to fill my tank when required. Now that I own my tank, I can buy propane from anyone. I have yet to find another vendor that will beat All State's price, and the company's service has continued to be top-notch. Thank You Dave! Thank You Susan! Highly recommended. read more

I was so pleased to change my propane service to All State Propane -- Really great customer service with Susan who went out of her way to help me and was so nice. I'm so pleased because my husband and I are on a fixed income and it's very difficult for us to come up with the large amount every time I order propane. All State said they are willing to work with me on a budget plan after the initial payment to get the first delivery. After that I can send in payments that will go towards my next delivery. The other propane company would not work with me. I would recommend this company to anyone living in the Back Country (we live in Campo) as the other propane companies are not very good in my opinion and I've had two others in the past. read more

I think my last email will explain the star rating. Not only has Allstate not offered any remedy they are refusing to provide future service. Susan, Let's recap, we had Allstate come out to provide us a quote and verify scope of work for what needed to be done on a used propane tank. We were given a price on a used propane tank and informed installation wouldn't be an issue. Since that date, the price on a used propane tank went up $600 or 40%, the delivery was late with no communication with a window of 10am to 2pm so an entire day was wasted for us, and on top of that we are now being told that installation is a problem. Please advise how Allstate would like to resolve these issues. Thanks, Tyler read more

I just receive my first official bill from All State Propane and what a great surprise. I can actually read and understand the bill. They have made it as simple as possible. My previous company's billing was impossible to figure out. I could never tell how much propane I had received nor how much they were charging me. Refreshing to have a nice, simple bill. This is just an added gift as the best gift from All State Propane is the staff. Paula is always there when I call with great professionalism and personality. Nice to have a company that serves their customers well and you can even have a good laugh along the way. Great company and we are lucky to have them in Julian. read more

I just recently moved to Ramona and have never had a home Propane tank before. As a new homeowner, All State called me and said they would check out my system. I found out that there was a leak on my part of the interface. Being a new customer they shared the cost with me on the repair. Also I have had 2 fills. They are always on-time and do an excellent job. Prices seem very good. Also let me know last year at the end of summer that it would be economical to top off as the rates were at there lowest point. I have been pleased with the service at the house as well as talking with them on the phone getting educated. I would recommend them! read more

I recently purchased a 500 gallon propane tank for my generator. Ben performed a site visit and told me the location was acceptable. I plumbed the gas line from the new tank location to my generator. I was invited to pick out my new used tank at the Allstate yard on Newman Way. The following week the tank was delivered, set in place, leveled, filled, leak tested, and I was all set. Ben, along with another employee, was very courteous and professional during the entire process. I am excited to have had this company recommended to me by a friend. Thank you, Ken from Pine Hills (Julian) read more

We switched our service from Proflame to Allstate in February 2015. I couldn't be more pleased with Allstate and their professional, personal and friendly installation and services. The team at Allstate Propane with Paula, Ben, Justin and Shaina has been a great pleasure to have for our propane needs. They always take the time to help and most of all treat you like a friend not an account. I highly recommend Allstate Propane and their services. Even the owner took the time to help me with a delivery schedule and payment by phone one time when I called for propane. Thanks guys. read more

Been with Allstate Propane for over 3yrs now. Just recently relocated to Shelter Valley. Called and had my service moved. They made the transition super easy and my new propane tank set up and filled in two days! Their office staff are always very helpful and friendly. Ben and the delivery drivers are top notch. Couldn't be happier with how I've been taken care of by everyone at Allstate Propane. Biggest plus is their very reasonable prices. I changed my propane provider from Pro Flame years ago do to the price of propane and the excellent customer service at Allstate! read more

Best prices and customer service in San Diego County by far! I have had several propane companies over the years. The other ones were just plane Horrible - nightmarish. The other companies were rude, expensive and always tried to rip me off when I went to cancel my service to find something better. Very impressed with the top level customer service of All State Propane. They always are professional and work with you. Hope they stay in business because the alternatives are not attractive. I easily pay online or over the phone. Very happy with this company. read more

I have owned my own tank for 5 years and am thankful that I have a choice of which propane company I can use. I found All State a few years ago and they are almost always offer the lowest price per gallon for propane compared to all of the other companies. On top of that, All states employees are very personal and have excellent customer service. Even if I find another company that offers a lower price per gallon I stick with All State because I know that I am going to get the best service at a great price! read more

We had an emergency and needed propane right away. A friend recommended All State when I mentioned all of my local companies were not available for a week. All State came out immediately, they were and continue to be extremely courteous and helpful beyond our expectations. They charge current market prices and do not promise to undercut only to come back later with an inflated price. This company and the owners/employees are honest, reliable and stand out among all of my local propane companies! read more

Having lived in Julian for the past 46 years we have experienced many propane providers. Most of them are long gone now (and some others should be) for various reasons. I now have found this company to provide what others could not, friendly, competent office staff, and timely deliveries. And as a bonus, our delivery driver, Zach, was professional, personable and had a great attitude. In total, All State Propane is truely an outstanding fit for the back country! read more

I am so happy I made the change from Proflame to All State Propane yesterday. (Big) Ben and (Little) Ben were at my house yesterday to set my new tank. They were both very professional and I enjoyed chatting with both of them during the install. They also inspected all of my appliances and lines to make sure there was no leaks. I highly recommend this company over the larger propane companies. They want your business and it shows! Thanks again guys, Chris read more

Go with all State. Neighbors told me to give them a try when I moved in June. They are awesome! Live in SD Back country and they are great. Live people to talk to all the time. On time, don't over charge you and are efficient and thorough. I used another more known company out here 3 years ago and it was a rip off!!! I waited to write my review after 5 months of service with all State and I'm so happy I went with them. Ask around they are awesome!!! read more

They have been great, they made it very easy when we bought our house and setting up our account. Our oven and furnace had been acting up and they found the problem quickly. They ordered and replaced our regulator and it's been great ever since. I can't say enough great things about them. The staff there are very friendly and helpful. Just agreat business and group of people. Thank you again Allstate propane. Sincerely, Jeramya Witters read more

I usually don't write reviews, but I have been a happy customer with All State Propane for over six years. I have recommended this company to my family and friends who live in the Julian area.
