They like to talk on the phone so you have no record to refer back too. Bought 2 new tanks. They delivered 2 old tanks they claimed had been refurbished but the gauges and valves tell a different story. The word refurbished was never mentioned on the phone. One tank was leaking - they said it was fine when they left. Apparently they think me, the homeowner, was going to get creative with a full 500 gallon tank. Harassed an 88 and 78 year old saying SDG&E called them saying our tank isn't in a safe area and needs to be moved and they won't fill the tank until it's moved (it was at 10%), which is a lie because we called SDG&E and said there is no way for them to even know who we use for propane 1, and two that's illegal and a confidentiality breach they would always contact the customer first. Then the lady said they will report us to SDG&E and they'll send us a letter saying to move it or we'll be fined and owe money. That was two months ago and we NEVER received a letter and SDG&E said they never sent a letter and don't even have that convo on record. The lady Jessica or whatever also said there's no record she can provide us with her "reporting" us after lying about SDG&E "contacting THEM". The lady is always rude to my grandparents and I had to talk law to her for her to stop harassing them saying under SDG&E subsection they legally will pay for us to move the tank if it is in an unsafe area and they would have sent a letter plus they don't even handle propane like that, and then Jessica says the Allstate Company will fine us for not moving the tank. Like no. SDG&E said what they are saying is illegal and they have no authority to make us move the tank and they have no power to fine us, only SDG&E can. Now we have had no propane for two weeks, they're refusing to service us or fill the tank. 88 and 78 and they refuse to help them with moving the tank to where THEY WANT IT, NOT where it's legally required to be, because again we never received a letter! All State is a life saver in our area of North East San Diego County! I've never worked with a propane company that is so over the top accommodating and kind to their customers. Their billing department (Dominique) is so nice and so helpful even if you forget to call in your payment. I'm a busy person with life and work and propane is low on the priority list until I run out because I haven't checked it in a while. All state propane cost more than Kamps and charges to inspect the lines for service. They also charged me again to reinspect when my tank went empty. Kamas will do the inspection free of charge. All state had no interest in keep me as a customer, so I had no interest in remaining a customer. Save your self some money and frustration, call Kamps. read more

So get this: we just bought a house from someone who thought paying their bills wasn't a priority. And that includes, like the garbage, the gardener, and whoever else he hasn't paid, the propane! But did I know the bill hadn't been paid? Well if you ask All State Propane, they "don't understand how you could not have received the notice." Well, let's see. We closed escrow on Nov. 7, two days after All State posted their 48hr shut off notice the door. And we didn't get keys until the 8th. By that time, there was no notice on the door. Somehow, it grew legs, jumped off the door handle, and walked away. But, supposedly, they put more notices on our door, after that date, all of which grew legs and disappeared as well. But guess what! It doesn't matter that we didn't get the notice, cause they came and disconnected our propane anyway! Fantastic! Listen up! Cause the story only gets better! So after calling All State and asking who's great idea it was to disconnect our source of heat without warning (Well, for us), we were told the bill was past due. Now here comes the twist. At first I was told I wasn't responsible for the previous owner's bill. But then, I was asked to pay it, although I had the "right" (what a fucking joke) to decline. So, naturally, I declined. Cause moving is expensive, and we've had a lot of unexpected things to pay for. So of course, if you give me the option, I'll take it! But ohhh no! A few hours after that phone call, I get another one. And I didn't catch the beggar's name, but she proceeded to lecture me on how completely reasonable it was to ask me to pay the previous owner's bill, because they "shouldn't have to give you free gas." Guess what lady, I shouldn't be forced to pay for a product I didn't order, either. Especially when I know I can get it for less than $2.59 a gallon. I just wonder, does that border extortion? "Pay us, at our price, or no heat." Kinda sounds like it. But who knows. Maybe if they had cut me a deal and said, "You know, it is kinda lame that you have to pay the previous owner's bill, we'll take X amount off per gallon for you." But nah, they wanted their fuckin money. It was more important to collect than possibly earn a new loyal customer. So fuck' em. read more

Extremely pleased with the speed and quality of service. I called on a Tuesday for a fill up and they came on Friday. My old company took weeks to get a delivery. Also, the driver was able to open/close my gate without me being home and avoided driving over my asphalt curb, something my last company was not capable of doing. read more

Was great right up till my grandmother needed the tank refilled. Less than a week after I got the bill in the mail from them they posted a notice stating if the account was not brought current in 48 hours the tank would be removed. I thought that was a bit rash. I called them to explain. Which didn't work. So I agreed to pay $305 with my debit card for my grandmother because it was made clear mailing them a check wouldn't be fast enough (grandmother's method). Check my bank account later and Allstate had charged $373.85. I call them again and ask what's going on. "Late fee." I explained that I didn't get the bill that long before it was decided we were late paying. I was told it was emailed to me. I didn't even realize that it had been I was waiting for the notification in the post. I wasn't expecting any emails otherwise. I figured there would be at least more than 4 days between 0 and 100. The woman didn't care and kept saying the same things repeatedly. I hung up angrily. After which she had the nerve to text saying she could "help" me understand, etcetera etcetera but I that had to talk to her. I. Was. Didn't do much. Anyways Allstate stole $68.85 from me. They should consider warning their customers about the fact that if you give them your email address, they will not care when you get the paper bill from them. Keep in mind I couldn't even know how much said bill was until I saw the bill. Anyways they are inexpensive but apparently there's a reason. I'm not sure if my grandmother is staying with them but I'm letting my mom handle it going forward because these people are unreasonable. read more
