A few weeks ago, I noticed a burning smell in my basement and followed it to the electrical closet. I spoke to Greg on the phone about the issue and he was very professional and honest of what he could and could not do about the elusive issue. Most importantly, he did not use any scare tactics. Unfortunately, he had a client that day so my husband found another company to come to diagnose the issue. After opening and thoroughly examining the electrical box, the person could not find the problem and recommended an escalation to perform a full diagnosis, which would be nearly $500. I called Greg and he talked to me out of my panic. He also recommended a solution to test for the source myself. Later that day, my husband and I took Greg's advice and we were able to narrow it down to our home security system. Having an electrical issue is always scary, but I am grateful to find someone like Greg who is honest, and actually goes out of his way to educate his customers.

He recommended a trusted colleague and invited me to reach back out if I had any further questions or concerns. I'll keep his number handy for future reference, and would recommend Greg to you for your electrician needs.

David Turner Springfield Downtown…read more· 2 hr ago · Michael Christy DBA MC Electrical takes advantage of senior citizens. He charged $1680 for less than two hours labor and materials costing of less than $50. No advance estimate as advertised on his website His website promises to come to the home and diagnose the problem, and provide a "free on-site estimate . . . before any work begins." However, with us, he never discussed pricing in advance and provided no estimate prior to performing services. Here is our detailed experience. My wife, who is in her 70s called and told him that we had a bathroom exhaust fan that wasn't working and that we needed two GFCI's in the kitchen replaced. He arrived the next day with an assistant. The assistant went to the second floor to diagnose the fan problem. It turned out that the new timer switch that I had tried to install myself was not connected properly, and he had corrected the problem in minutes before even discussing it with us. While he was doing that, Michael went to the kitchen and promptly replaced the two GFCIs. They were done in less than an hour and Michael told us that they would send the bill and made arrangements for my wife to VENMO the money to him. When Michael subsequently emailed the invoice to us, My wife was shocked at the amount, but she, nonetheless VENMOed money before I had a chance to look at the invoice. The invoice included a $295 "service call"; $795 for the simple connection of the exhaust fan switch that took minutes; $590 for the installation of the two GFCIs; and a charge of $117.60 that was listed as a 7% tax on the $1,680 charges described above. Notably, Pennsylvania has has no tax on labor charges for real estate capital improvements such as the work performed here. As such, those tax charges are completely invalid and appear fraudulent. After-the-fact research showed that the very high end of the range that a reputable master election would charge for those services would be $560 including a service call charge and materials. When I called him about the bill, he said that if I had not "disrespected" him by getting angry, he would have "worked with us." This is not an honest contractor. My advice is to stay far away from MC Electrical.

He did a full electric rewiring of my home. He removed knob and tube wiring and replaced with all new wiring, upgraded the service panel to 200 amps, and installed many lights, baseboard heaters, bathroom fans, porch lights, etc. Knowledgeable - you spend 10 minutes with him and you realize he knows the ins and outs of all things electric and also generally all things house related. It really gave me confidence in his vision for the final project. Cost - we received several quotes. He was very competitive with his pricing. And when you price in the quality of the work, I think the value is second to none. He was also very upfront and transparent. No hidden charges. He explained why certain items cost what they did. Professionalism - he was punctual for all meetings and phone calls. Prompt with all text replies. Speed - Once the project was underway, they really moved at a fast. My house needed quite a bit of work and they finished in two weeks. Lastly, he was happy to discuss ideas for various non-electric related items during our several house walk-throughs even though it was of no real benefit to him, which speaks to his easy going nature. I'm not a frequent "review" poster (if ever), but Mike and crew earned it.

After a few few weeks of not hearing from them, I called and got the owner on the phone. He said that they were looking into it and that they would get back to me with an estimate for the work. We recently had a compressor go down for a large walk in cooler and these guys stepped up with a no nonsense quote. They had us up and running in a couple of days. They were very professional. Moving forward they also recommended a preventive maintenance service to keep the new compressor and other parts of the unit healthy and running strong. I can't speak for their AC and heating (yet!), but for refrigeration needs in the Delco area they are reliable and responsive. Thanks again guys!
