I had multiple quotes on some electrical work and they came in at a reasonable price. It's not the cheapest and it's not the most expensive. I ultimately went with them because they offered the highest warranty out of all the other electrical companies (5 years on parts and labor). They also don't charge a trip fee for their estimate as well (some companies charge 50-100 bucks that may/may not be credited to the work that is performed). Today we used Farryn Electric with Wm Henderson. The electrician replaced an existing 220 A/C outlet that had come loose. He used a new Outlet Box but the existing wiring. The job took an hour and we were charged $330 which is high but it is what it is. My concern was that after the job I was asked to elite a review and found two different electrical coupons on the Wm Henderson site. One was for $50 off an electrical job the other was for 10% off for senior citizens. I would have loved to be offered either one but I wasn't. I hope they make this up to us but I am not holding my breath. The job was done well. read more

Farryn Electric is too expensive. They charged me $744 to remove 4 outlets that were in an exposed wall (not in drywall). The technician cut the cables, removed the outlets and wires, and put a junction box. I don't blame the technician for the high price, but I blame the system that they use. The technician enters the information in an iPad and it generates a price. The problem is that it does not allow for common sense (at least that's what I saw, when the technician entered the information). For example they charged me for what they called "Circuit Demolition-Stage One", which by their definition "Electrical demolition is not just taking a pair of wire cutters", and this is exactly what they did. They cut the wires and remove the outlets that were exposed because they were in an unfinished basement. They did not remove the breaker. My recommendation for Farryn electric is to create a "demolition" option for the times that opening walls and tracing cables is not required. Because this job was much simpler than opening walls and removing the breaker, it should have cost a lot less. The only reason I went for it, is because my wife wanted the outlets removed immediately. On a positive note, the technician was very friendly. read more

We lost electricity partially in our house and PECO said that there was no outage; Farryn was quick to respond and send a team over to check things out. They were professional and conscious of the need to maintain appropriate distance; they were able to diagnose the issue quickly--turned out to be a broken wire at the outside pole which did require PECO to come out and fix. I was very impressed with Farryn Electric. I had my electrical panel upgraded to 200 Amp service. They sent out a team of 3 people who were all polite, efficient, worked as a team, cleaned up afterwards, and reviewed their work in great detail to make sure I was fully satisfied. The following day they came back with two guys to check every electrical circuit in the entire 3 story house to make sure it was working. A few weeks ago, I lost power to one of our bedrooms, hallway light, ceiling fan, bathroom lights, and several outlets. Usually, I do all of my DIY electrical work, but this problem totally baffled me. Everything seemed to be fed by one circuit breaker, but nothing listed above was receiving power except the range in the kitchen. I replaced about 6 or seven switches and outlets thinking one of them was the culprit. Nope, that wasn't it. So, I gave Farryn a call based on all their good reviews. Two technicians came to the house the day after my call. They try to diagnose the problem for close to two hours but with no luck. They said that the owner of Farryn (Dan) would come over the following day, which he did, bright and early. He discovered that most of the outlet boxes were a rat's nest of many hot wires and many neutrals. He had to determine which ones powered which items that were without power. Finally, he discovered that one of the neutrals was the culprit and set about repairing it. He ran a new wire from a known good outlet to the offending switch which allowed the current to flow again. Then, he disabled the bad wire which for whatever reason broke over the years. So, after approximately a day and a half, everything was back to normal! Dan, and the other two technicians were a pleasure to work with. They were extremely courteous, knew their stuff, and showed much respect to my family members and even my pets! They wore booties while in the house and left their work spaces spotless before leaving. Highly recommended! read more
