The difference in attitude before signing the contract and after the job was completed was very disappointing. Before the agreement, everyone was extremely responsive, friendly, and attentive. Once the work was done and payment was settled, the communication and customer care completely changed. It honestly felt like dealing with two entirely different companies. To be fair, the roofing crew themselves worked hard and completed the roof installation properly. I appreciate the effort they put into the actual roofing work. However, during the process, our gutters -- which were only about six months old -- were damaged, and several plants around our home were carelessly ruined. I understand roofing is a tough job and accidents can happen, so I was willing to overlook some of that as part of the process. What really left a negative impression was the behavior and attitude of the office staff and management afterward. Their responses felt careless, dismissive, and lacking basic kindness or concern for the customer. Professionalism is important, but being respectful, understanding, and caring toward customers matters just as much. Instead, I was left feeling ignored and disappointed after spending a significant amount of money with them. At this point, I can only hope their advertised 50-year warranty is actually reliable, because honestly, I never want to go through the frustration of contacting them again or dealing with the same level of indifference in the future.

Instead of just "making it work" or creating a huge mess with drywall dust, Zach proposed a brilliant custom solution: building a clean birch veneer box with custom trim. It looks stunning and kept my house completely dust-free. What impressed me most was Zach's integrity. During the install, a small piece of my old plastic molding snapped. Instead of ignoring it, Zach took full ownership and replaced the trim on both skylights with upgraded foam-backed wood molding at his own expense to ensure everything was airtight and uniform. It is not a simple fix but an upgrade, for free. See the attached before/after pictures and the broken plastic. Like most customers, I contacted a few contractors before selecting Winfield Builders. For the first time I realize I had been hearing a fair amount of outside noise (which I'd apparently gotten used to), because these windows/doors are soundproof; now I don't hear anything at all from outside! And even better, the windows are easy to open, and my sliding glass doors actually slide well in the track, and are not shaking and drafty when it's windy outside -- major improvements from my old, builder-grade, 20+ year-old windows/sliding door. Further, the service crew was excellent -- careful, kind, professional, efficient, and they cleaned up everything afterwards. Roger, the foreman, has been doing this work for almost 30 years, and Jose, who single-handedly carried in/out the windows/doors, has been doing this work for 10+ years. I didn't get the name of the quiet third service person who was mostly outside and on the ladders, also very efficient. fyi, they did mention that working on the 4th floor of our condos from ladders was a bit more challenging as the original builder-grade windows had been made to fit by being packed/taped in place from the outside, which necessitated them having to actually break some of the glass to be able to pull the old windows out. But they did it - and did it well. Finally, Shaun, the project manager who gave me my estimate and oversaw the project from estimate, HOA approval process, to completion, was great. Highly recommended.
