We reached out to Trec for a free composite deck renovation project estimate. Connecting with their scheduling department via telephone calls only, I confirmed the date/time of the appointment, the length of the appointment, and the overall process of the walk through- ensuring I would have enough time blocked off from work to be available. After scheduling, the scheduling manager continued to contact me numerous times, prior to our meeting, to confirm my availability, in which I double checked all the pieces above. Never was I told to allow for a 30minute window, so imagine my frustration when I blocked off an hour for work 2:00-3:00pm, and the guy showed up at 2:30pm, upset with me because I needed to end at 3:00pm. The estimate went quickly. I tried to cover everything we wanted, allowing time for him to take measurements, draw schematics, and have time for follow-up questions, but it felt disconnected and rushed. I was told we would schedule a follow-up Zoom appointment to walk through everything- I scheduled a time period with the scheduling manager, again blocking off work- only to have them call 20mins before the appointment and cancel on us because they weren't ready with information. Then I waited days for them to call back to re-schedule the appointment, but never got contacted. Overall, it wasn't a good relationship. We didn't feel cared for or considered as new clients, so we removed them as a possible vendor. read more

I signed a contract for a new deck and fence in May/22 with the promise of completion no later than July 4, 2022. I received almost weekly updates informing that my project was "next". Next did not come until January 2023. My deck is beautiful; however, there was and is still issues with my fence. I released payment foolishly thinking that this seemingly small issue would be quickly resolved. It has now been more than a month. I sent this email to them today. "On February 4th, I notified that the caps were missing from my gate. I informed the lender of my satisfaction expecting great customer service and that this issue would be satisfied and in a decent timeframe. To date there has been no action taken and my texts are now going unanswered. There is also issues with the lock. If I knew the follow up would be this way, I never would have approved the lender to remit payment without having these issues fixed. I'm providing text correspondences that show the lack of communication and genuine concern with resolving what was a minor issue. Justin was our sales representative and point of contact throughout this project. He was super helpful with his input on design and what looks good and doesn't based on his experience. There wasn't a time where any of our questions were unanswered and we felt confident moving forward with TREC. When we were waiting for the permit to be finished, Kelly gave us a weekly call to update us on where we were in the process. She was very customer friendly and available any time we had questions! Once we received the materials at our property, Walter and the crew were super professional and you could tell they had a lot of experience in what they were doing. Justin also frequently visited during thebbuilding process as well. They made sure they stayed within the deadline of having the project completed. We absolutely love our patio! The most horrible company to work with or have your job done by. On September 25th, 2021. Had a Deck added to the back of my house, which was supposed to have a sliding door, and up to now, nothing has been done! after waiting six months to have the deck installed. Still no sliding door... Every time you call and speak to " Kelly" she gives you false dates and excesses about the weather and promises as to when the work will be done. As of today, I am still waiting to hear from the President of the Company Mr. Justin Carpenter for which many, many messages were left. I am very, very frustrated and dissatisfied at this point and will take the necessary action needed. read more

We signed our contact to have a smaller (250') deck built in late May 2021. The Trec contract said they would have the work complete in 6-12 weeks. By the end of July all permits were completed, all materials were in, and they told us we were 10th in line. Each of their representatives have told me on multiple occasions that they build 2-3 decks/week. It is now early September (5 weeks later) and they've just told me that i'm 8th in line. This means they've only completed 2 projects in the last 5 weeks. At their current pace, it will be closer to 24 weeks before they get to my deck. I've called them weekly, and at this point its obvious they are directly lying to me. They are not running multiple crews or building multiple decks per week. They are just taking deposits, building a backlog of business and lying to their clients about their completion dates. They know full well after waiting multiple months most clients have no choice but to continue to wait. The way this company conducts business is an absolute disgrace. read more

In November 2019 I had TREC replace the siding on my house. Six months after installation, June 2020, and after a few days of 100' heat, the siding on my house started to warp. I contacted TREC about this and was told it is a warranty issue and TREC would take care of it. Six months after being told my house would be fixed, I am still with warped siding and now I am being dodge by the company. I would not recommend this company to anyone, as I now feel I am stuck with trying to get another company to do the repairs. I also have a loose piece on the front of the house that comes loose with the wind. I was told by Justin from TREC that it was cut too short and it should be replaced. In August 2019 we had a TREC representative come out and provide us with a quote for: a large deck; patio made with pavers; a paved driveway extension with steps leading down to the backyard; sliding doors changed to French doors; and a fence. The project was estimated to be fully completed by Thanksgiving; however, there were weather constraints and the company had many projects going at the same time. We understood the time and weather hurdles, but had not thought about those before going forward with the project, so it's just something to keep in mind for large-scale projects. We fully finished the project early April 2020 and overall we are very happy with the result! It's the perfect time to enjoy being outdoors and we get many compliments from neighbors. We rated the overall project a 4/5 only because with a project this big there were a few minor issues along the way- for example, one of the deck posts was installed slightly too close to our home so the cap is different than the others but it's not in a visible position so it's not noticeable unless you examine each one. Another minor issue was a slight change to the location of structural beams on the patio which changed the size and location of the deck steps. This caused a delay in finishing the deck since the steps had to be redone. This seemed to be just a slight miscommunication between the employees working on the deck and the company blueprint. However, it was an issue that was addressed quickly. We would, though, highly recommend TREC because of the owner's, Justin's, professionalism and commitment time ensuring customer satisfaction. We were deeply impressed with the way he handled each of our concerns. It was comforting to know that behind all of this there is an owner who stands behind the quality of the work and responds with great professionalism. Justin addressed our issues very quickly, including the deck post and deck steps, and was very responsive. He provided us with explanations and recommendations for changes in the project as well which we appreciated since this was the first big project we've done in our home. TREC built my neighbors deck. We contacted them for a consult and estimate based on the quality of the workmanship of her deck and her recommendation. On June 3, 2020 we signed a contract with TREC to build a deck. We put down one-third deposit of the cost of the deck in the form of cash and financed the balance. The estimated completion date was 6-7 weeks. We initially purchased a lattice enclosure. Once construction began on the deck the construction manager advised against a lattice enclosure due to the height of the deck. This amendment was considered as a separate order and would take additional time to complete. I understand that our completion date was an estimate and inclement weather was a factor in delaying the completion date. On or about July 30, 2020 the owner did an inspection of the deck for completion of work. At that time he informed me that the finance company would contact me to determine if the work was completed to my satisfaction. He also told me if I stated that the work was completed in turn TREC would receive payment for their work from the finance company. I told the owner we ordered a gate for the deck and it had yet to be installed and there were a few minor issues that needed to be corrected. He was not aware of that portion (the gate) of our order. My husband sent TREC a copy of our contract that stated we ordered a gate. Although the gate was missing I acted in grace and good faith and I agreed to state that the work was completed although the order was not in order for TREC to receive payment. I did this because I understand how COVID-19 has strained many businesses. On July 30, 2020 I signed a new contract with the owner of the company to have the beams and posts wrapped. This was an additional cost that we paid in cash in advance. TREC cashed my check on July 31, 2020. I understand that the fact that we placed an additional order required time to acquire the additional materials needed to begin the additional order and inclement weather might be a factor in completing the second order. To date, we invested over $15,000 in cash in this project. The deck was completed. However the few minor issues still need to be corrected. The wrapping of the beams and posts have yet to begin. Since the signing of our new contract I have a stream of text messages with false promises to complete the work from the construction manager. In the messages I was told the materials would be in by September 2, 2020. I received another text message on September 4, 2020 informing me the materials to complete the project have arrived. Today is September 16, 2020, two weeks later, the construction manager has not contacted me or attempted to begin completing the work. Additionally, no one from TREC has made an official (email, phone call, mailed or certified letter) attempt to contact me about the completion of the job since July 30, 2020. It is my opinion that TREC worked diligently to complete tasks when they were waiting for the release of funds from the finance company, but did not display the same sense of urgency when we paid for services in cash and in advance. While we are mostly pleased with the quality of the portion of the deck that has been completed, we are throughly disappointed with the customer service we have received. read more

Kelly worked with us and our HOA to ensure the paperwork process was smooth. I was kept informed about material delivery and project status.
