We paid someone to replace the floor in 2022, but after a year, the LVP started peeling. They wouldn't stand by their work and instead offered to charge us for something they should've fixed at the time. Matthew from ACE Plumbing looked at the floor, identified the problem, and pointed out other (now obvious) issues leading that were leading to the feeling that the home was kinda falling apart. We initially asked for just the floor to be fixed, and other contractors only quoted us for the band aid solutions we thought we needed. However, Matt dug deeper and discovered rot in the siding, a leaking roof, and deteriorating walls, among other challenges. We chose Matt and ACE Plumbing over four other contractors because he was communicative, always available to answer questions, and proactive in giving advice that would save us trouble in the long run. Since we don't live in the home, Matt and his crew kept us up to date with photos and phone calls. As issues came up, he informed us of the process needed to resolve them. Throughout the entire process, we felt we were in the hands of professionals. Matt was able to describe the problems with our beautiful but old house, outline our options for a fix, and provide a timeline that worked for us. Another benefit was that Matt didn't just contract out the work we paid him good money for. He was on-site, getting dirty with his crew and taking videos to answer our questions. He wasn't just a glorified receptionist shuffling tasks to groups of unskilled workers. Detailed Summary of My Experience: I contacted Jim initially just to get an estimate for finishing my basement, which was in a state that needed major work because the walls were made of cinderblock and the floors were complete concrete; it was a space that was probably best used for storage and I would not call it "comfortably livable." Jim arrived quickly for an estimate and helped me explore the possibilities of the space, even going so far as to note what would be difficult or expensive to pull off. Within days he provided an estimate for the job, which I found out during the process was a major ordeal involving many phases and individuals, so I'm impressed he was able to produce a price so quickly (and in the end it was an accurate price). I signed Jim up for the job because of his straightforward and pleasant attitude. In the weeks and months that followed (this was a major job, I want to note), Jim gave me frequent updates about what workers I could expect to come by and when/how-long they would be there. Every person who came onto the property was skilled and good about communicating what they would be working on, especially when they had questions about the possibilities of the space. Jim also handled all of the work involving the permits and he worked with the county to ensure everything was up to code. He also alerted me any time there was a change in plans or if there was a possibility of delay. Given how involved this basement-finish job was, there were plenty of opportunities for major hurdles, but the project was still completed in a timely manner, and it was always clear to me what was going on, what would happen next, etc. The final product is everything I could've wanted. Jim made efficient use of the space to make as much of it "comfortably livable" as possible. Even the water heater and HVAC unit were relocated with no diminishment in functionality just for the sake of making the basement as good as it could possibly be. As a property manager myself, I appreciated his clean contracting process - he'll print out two copies so both you and he can sign, he'll document the down payment amount and check number (and sign), he'll get his insurance agent to provide you with a COI right after, and keep you updated regularly throughout the project and will document any change orders with updated payment schedules. Our deck project became complicated by obvious grading/drainage issues and sunken footers at the adjacent porch that the deck is flush to, which caused our project cost to increase significantly. Some would say that the change in scope is a pricing tactic, and maybe it is for some, but not Jim. He carefully explained and showed us the issues, then helped prioritize them so we knew what really needed to be addressed and what could wait. His sub was great - always on time, productive as hell, and maintained a tidy worksite. You could tell the sub really cared about their work and Jim made it a point to stop by to check in. The end result is a beautiful deck that we cannot wait to furnish and use. The experience with Jim was so great that we will call him when we're ready to bid out our master bath and kitchen reno. He's a good human.

" I called after hours and left a message. A 15 foot section of siding came loose on my home - also a few sectional pieces under the roof line. It was an easy fix but it necessitated a 40 ft ladder. After I called, there was no call back (1 week). The business is close by - less than 1/2 mile. So I went by and even provided a picture of the damage and repair needed. I never received a follow up call, or email, and no one came by to provide an estimate. I figured the job was too small for them to worry about...based on this, I cannot recomend their service.
