First time at this location and we WILL be back!! Service was friendly and fast! Food was also fast and good! It's a sports bar so it wasn't very quiet but when you have a young child you aren't very concerned with the quietness of a restaurant! Everything was clean and all staff encountered were very friendly!

One word for this restaurant and that is disappointment. I was excited to try this place as there isn't many steak places in the area. When we first got to the table it was a bit dirty and the prices on the menu is far too much for what you get. The food was flavorless and I barely finished my food only because it was terrible. Wouldn't recommend.

After checking in, we were quickly guided upstairs to a cozy, rounded booth--an intimate and perfect spot for two. Our server, Katie, was fantastic--attentive, knowledgeable, and refreshingly honest when helping us choose between dishes. We started with the deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes, paired with the Black Sheep Mule and a watermelon cocktail (wish I remembered the name!). For our mains, we ordered the short rib rigatoni and the steak bulgogi bowl. To finish, we shared the weekly dessert special: an Earl Grey tres leches. Everything was exactly what I hoped for and more. The starters were standout, the entrees were packed with flavor, and the overall aesthetic of the space was just beautiful. We'll definitely be back--next time for brunch!

It was also my first time at The Black Sheep but I had always heard wonderful things - all of which turned out to be true. The loft area is beautiful and overlooks the entire restaurant. Also when you reserve the loft, which holds up to 16 people, you order off the regular menu. I loved this as other places I checked into were much more restrictive with a higher minimum spend and fixed menus for groups larger than 8. We had 12 in our group. We started with a bunch of appetizers for the table and cocktails. Appetizers included the bacon tower, fried green tomatoes, hushpuppies, crispy chicken wings, and Mediterranean garlic shrimp. Dinner entreés were jambalaya pasta, the American wagyu burger, pulled short rib rigatoni and branzino almondine. There were zero complaints. We enjoyed EVERYTHING!! The bourbon butter cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert literally took me over the top. My belly was ready to burst :) Our waiter was attentive throughout the entire time and everything we ordered came out perfect. I must go back soon. It is a distance from where I live but there's so many things on the fabulous menu I want to try.

This past year has had a lot of challenges, so it was a pleasure to get a nicely cooked medium rare sirloin steak. My respects to the chef and wait staff. Yes even that boomerang one. This is a better value, with much higher quality. Love the sweet potatoes. Admittedly with butter and cinnamon, it may not win in the healthy category. Yet everyone should try this delicious treat. The bread is fresh and tasty. Super clean restaurant also. I'd like to say thank you again, as this is my favorite Longhorn location. The interior is standard roadhouse style except it was very dark inside. I think they keep it like that so you don't know when you're eating. I got the 16oz ribeye with broccoli and rice. Until today every time I heard that conspiracy theory that they 3d print meat I always thought it was stupid. What I had couldn't be considered a ribeye. It was spongey and completely uniform. Very little fat and an almost non existent rib cap. The worst part is you couldn't even really see it in the dark. The broccoli was fine and the rice was bland. I got the apple and blueberry cobbler for dessert to try to lift the experience and it just dropped it further. The cobbler was bland with a bad texture. The only good thing was the icecream that came with it. The service was pleasant. Very over priced for what it was and if I ever go back I'll avoid the steaks and try something else.

You can always tell when a restaurant has strong chemistry among its staff -- and that comes from being managed by people who truly care. The place is spotless, and the food is always five-star -- tasty, hot, beautifully presented, featuring amazing seasonal specials, and consistently appetizing. The reason for this second review is to give a special shout-out to Cali from Nokesville (not California -- inside joke!). Nothing against today's younger generation, but it's rare to find someone with such natural ease in conversation. Cali is an old soul with a wonderful personality, genuine warmth, and incredible knowledge of the menu. She's the kind of server who doesn't just take your order -- she connects with you. Early in our meal, I asked about something that's normally only offered for to-go orders. Cali said she'd check into it, and I didn't think much of it. Well, an hour and a half later, after we'd finished dining and checked out, she came back -- having remembered my request -- and made it happen. That level of attention and follow-through is rare these days. Firebirds Gainesville continues to impress us in every way, and with staff members like Cali, it's easy to see why.
