She was warm, personable, attentive, genuinely friendly, and took the time to actually connect with us. That kind of service matters. There are plenty of places to grab a glass of wine or something to eat, especially in this area, but the way you're treated is what makes you choose to come back. Mollie has that natural ability to make people feel welcome rather than simply waited on, and that is something that should be recognized and encouraged. In hospitality, being personable, engaging with your guests, and creating an experience is just as important as what's being served--and she completely understands that. We came in for a couple glasses of wine and left saying we would absolutely come back because of her. Regardless of the ambience or even the food and drinks of your service isn't top notch we wouldn't return, because our service with her was amazing we would come back. Mollie, thank you for being so kind, fun, and welcoming. You made what could have been a quick stop after a long week such an enjoyable afternoon. We'll definitely be asking for you next time!

What a wonderful place…read more We came after a busy workday to chill and hang out with friends. We were a large group, so we were seated bar-style around a tree -- such a wonderful setting. As first-timers, we ordered quite a few things from the menu, and everything was finger-licking good. The cheeses, in particular, were among the best I've ever had in LA. Service: wonderful. Design: great. Market: a must-go. Even the bathrooms are worth bragging about. Would I make a 30+ minute detour just to dine here -- mandatory in my personal rating scheme to earn five stars? Oh yes. Can't wait to go again.

It has that rare combination of intimate charm and lively energy that makes you want to stay a little longer. The Yuzu Blossom Highball was an absolute highlight! One of the best cocktails I've had in a long time, it was beautifully balanced, with the bright, refreshing citrus notes of yuzu complementing the tequilla perfectly. It was distinctive, refreshing and truly exceptional. Between the creative cocktails, vinyl spinning DJ, inviting atmosphere, and outstanding hospitality, this pop-up bar is a gem. This place gets packed but it's because the food is so good and they have a vast drink selection. Came with a group of 5 and we split half dozen oysters, scallop crudo, kanpachi sashimi, french fries, smashed cucumber salad, melon salad, paella fried rice, and 2 Dudley burgers. Everything was SO fresh and super tasty. Was very impressed by the quality of the fish, my favorites being the scallops and kanpachi sashi. I also really liked the Dudley burgers which are pretty rich so I would recommend splitting so you have room to try other things. Once the sun sets, it's pretty dark & moody and also loud - people come in and order drinks while they're waiting to be seated so the bar can get packed. Note they also have a no laptop policy which we found out when my co-worker tried to send an e-mail haha. Also beware that if you sit outside, the sulfur smell by the beach can be pretty strong and unpleasant. We were happy we were inside!

Casa 12 is kind of a trip for me. It is in the middle of super casual bars and restaurants, yet its…read moremenu and prices are of the higher quality. The vibes are extremely casual on the inside and I felt overdressed! It is a smaller and more intimate setting with small tables and lots of conversation and laughter. The staff are also very friendly, welcoming, and casual. They talk a lot with each other and their guests. It's like you're eating at a friend's house with how close everyone is with one another. Finally the food. The Caesar salad was extra fishy- it even came with whole anchovies on top! It was not my favorite since I prefer a more subtle anchovies taste in the dressing. The prosciutto and burrata were tasty and refreshing. Their rosemary(?) bread was fluffy and flavorful. The green fettuccine was rich in flavor and very filling. The star of the night for me was their Vodka pasta dish with prosciutto. They said it was a special, so I'm not sure how often they have it. All I can say is I was blown away by how rich the sauce was. The pasta is their biggest selling point- nice, Al dente, and fresh! For the desserts we tried the tiramisu and panna cotta. The tiramisu was nice and light. I personally wish there was more mascarpone, but I am a mascarpone fiend so I'm sure most people would consider it enough! The staff were kind enough to give us a complimentary panna cotta for our anniversary dinner. It was refreshing and subtle. I have never had panna cotta before, so I don't have a reference to which I can compare it. Overall 5/5. I won't sugar coat it. Yes the prices can feel high, but the context is you're right next to the beach, so it's understandable. (I always note the price tag for restaurants because I myself have to plan/save for nicer dinners. I included the bill for reference.) Keep that in mind when you are choosing to dine here. I will say though, I avoid beach side restaurants because they are usually over priced and mid tier. I can confidently say that Casa 12 brings the flavor and a pleasant, homelike break from the sandy beach. I think they are my #1 for pasta flavors. I am eager to see what restaurant can top them!

My friends said their sparkling water slapped (once the lil bug was removed from their glass) and the vibes sitting outside were so good! We loved the heat lamps and the free Venice people watching included in some outdoor seating. I'll be back to try the wine next time for sure!!

The speakeasy is unique and even serves full menu of great food! Aesthetic & Ambiance: 9.5/10 - it was very prohibition themed and the menus being price/luggage tags was very fun. Came on a saturday night at 6:30 reservation and it was very quiet with us being the only table most of the evening. The outside restaurant has live bands which can be a little loud. Service: 100/10 - Markley was the bartender and the only one who operates the speakeasy, she's not only the best bartender Ive had custom drinks from, but she also makes each individual product herself. She explained every part of the drinks and ingredients, and even offered to make any kind of drink we'd want if there was nothing on her menu. Drinks: 10/10 - if you like cocktail bars this is it...EVERY drink was a unique in flavor and handcrafted by Markley from steep to serve. house-infused liquors and tinctures- ONE OF A KIND BAR Food: 8.5/10 - all around great some dishes better than others Bread & Butter - 9/10 great toasted sourdough with a garlic butter and the butter was perfect salty-addition. Calamari - 7/10 a little too breaded for my liking with the rings and tentacles being a little dry. Deviled eggs: 7.5/10 interesting they were fried, but had great flavor all over Mongolian Beef: 8/10 very good flavor, and rice was tasty, but the sauce was a little salty. Cajun chicken pasta: 9.5/10 chicken was tender, pasta was cooked perfectly, sauce was delicious, and the sausage was a great addition. I'd easily drive an hour from LA again to come here!

It was pretty quiet, yet we were barely greeted by the staff. To make matters worse, another patron was changing their 2-year-old's diaper right there on the patio. It was completely "butt baked" and extremely unappetizing while trying to eat. Food we ordered : * Pâté Sandwich: The pâté itself was actually good, but it was ruined by a ton of mustard. I had to scrape it off just to eat it as the mustard completely overpowered the sandwich. * Salmon Sandwich: Very bland and lacked flavor. Side sales were bland. We had to ask for extra dressing. * Iced Coffee: There was something "weird" floating in my coffee. Between the hygiene issues on the patio, and the mediocre food, I won't be back. Maybe I should have just stuck with wine and cheese.

In my 14 years of having celiac, I have never had bread so delicious! We tried the crostini, the biscuits, and the focaccia, and every single one was unreal. It was so good, we even went two nights in a row for our two nights we were in Santa Monica at the end of our honeymoon. Aside from the breads, we also ate the fish and chips, rigatoni bolognese, calamari, mini hot dogs, and meatballs. Everything was so amazing and tasted like it was just freshly made. I wasn't sure I would like it or not, but I can tell you I ended up eating it all. It was awesome, every single dish! I'm going here again...even without her haha! We started with the focaccia which was delicious, although it tastes different than what gluten made focaccia tastes like. It was very light and crisp, not as rustic as regular gluten made, and even more enjoyable with the spiced olive oil that accompanied it. As an appetizer we tried the fried stuffed squash blossom with minted ricotta. OMG!! That was SO incredibly tasty! We definitely want that again... and we will later Today! I had the pasta Bolognese and my friend had the fish and chips which we shared and we both loved each of them. The fish was so crispy and delicious and it came with gluten-free fries which were also awesome. We had two glasses of wine which we loved, and we were very impressed with our server, Cameron, who is obviously an expert on their impressively large wine collection. He is a legitimate wine connoisseur. I asked a couple of ridiculous questions, yet he answered them so politely with his highly knowledgable answer. He was such a wonderful SOMM as well as a very friendly and personable server... with a wonderful sense of humor. So. I want people who are not gluten-free to know it's good to try to try this place. Everything is not only tasty but beautifully presented and the room is so cozy. If you're worried about trying gluten-free don't be. I asked Cameron's opinions on the food and I'll tell you he did not steer us wrong. Highly recommended by both of us; My friend with Celiac disease and myself who professors to be 'normal' (not gluten free). Oh.. we could not fit in dessert, but are very sad not to have been able to. There was a a beautiful display of luscious looking desserts that we will also have to go back for tonight, we must try to make room for one this evening or at least take a couple to go. Enjoy it!
