Both suits required a moderate amount of work but nothing major, and I was charged about $350 total -- no specifics, more of a holistic billing approach. But the Yelp reviews were very positive (even better at the time than they are now) so I was willing to shell out. B. The work was very clearly farmed out to someone else, and was done terribly. One of the pants was taken in so far in the seat that about half my butt fit inside it. Nelson's response was to say "oh, one of my guys must have done that" and he fixed it in about ten minutes, and to his credit fixed it very well. I have no idea who that other guy was or how he could possibly have believed a human ass would have been covered by his tailoring, but he was not ready for his assignments. The other pants were cut similarly, but I was fed up and just left -- before I even noticed that the sleeves on one of the jackets were uneven. Nelson himself is probably a great tailor, as evidenced by his cleanup job, but whoever he's giving work to...well, you might as well do it yourself with nail scissors and floss. C. It took forever. I finally called after 5 weeks or so and was told that "your suits have been here forever, we left you several messages, why haven't YOU picked up your suits?" This was, of course, blatantly not true . . . especially since I then showed up, and only one of my suits was there (the other still with Tailor X, as he figured out how to eliminate more butt fabric). PSA: take your stuff elsewhere. You've been warned.

As a girl who loves to secondhand and vintage shop, getting them altered makes the biggest difference. On my first trip here about a year ago I brought in a few items and left with a perfectly fitting pair of linen trousers (second hand find that were a little too big) and another pair of pants that also needed to be taken in. It was perfect! On this last visit I brought in a few items that needed tweaks and I worked with Jimmy. He helped me bring all 3 pieces to life and I can't wait to pick them up. I love that they don't pressure you to go through with an alteration if it's not what you imagined or maybe expensive. The space is also beautiful and calm and here's plenty of room to move around. I walked in completely clueless on a whim, tactlessly not making an appointment, and even though it was Juan's lunchbreak he still immediately took the time to see me and work with me. That said... let the man eat. Don't interrupt his break! I still feel bad about it!!! About the tailoring: Juan is just That Dude. He WILL make you look better and point out ways to make the clothes better compliment your body that others don't even know about. The pricing felt extremely fair and not at all like I was being overcharged for the amount and quality of work being done. Not only that, Juan did me a solid by getting the alterations done in-time with a big move out of state. Last minute, off of a random walk-in, and brother still treated me like I was a long time regular. I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!…read more I was promised my lengha ( which I purchased at a nearby store and was expensive) would be ready in 3 weeks, a deadline THEY set. When I showed up to collect it, not only was the job incomplete, there was an AWFUL smell coming from my lengha AND I FOUND STAINS ON MY BRAND NEW OUTFIT!! THEY asked me to come back the next day and that they would fix it. I returned on Sunday--and the work was still incomplete!!! I tried on my outfit and it was still not fitted and had a lot of issues. After pointing out all the issues AGAIN, I was then asked to give them 30 minutes more, when I went back (now for a 3rd time) - IT WAS STILL NOT DONE, I was very upset and just ended up taking my outfit as is because this is just beyond ridiculous at this point. During my 3 visits in 2 days, every time I tried to address these issues, the tailor became openly hostile, raising their voice at me and my friends. Their behavior was unacceptable. I had to demand that they lower their voice when speaking to me. I had to bargain to reduce the price since the work WAS NOT COMPLETED and the wife and husband CONTINUED TO BE AGGRESSIVE AND HOSTILE. They raised their voice and said that they would unstitch my outfit if I did not pay... The store owner of where I brought my lengha from even called and told him that this is unacceptable and he was charging me too much. The tailor started to raise his voice at him and the female manager of the other store. This business operates without a shred of professionalism, respect, or accountability. Their treatment of customers is beyond disgraceful. If you care about your clothing and want to be treated decently, avoid this place at all costs!!!!!! THEY ARE THE WORST! PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND SAVE YOURSELF FROM A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
