My gown after the tailoring service. The dress was shortened and the bodice was slimmed.

I did not know what to expect when I arrived. All that mattered to me was that I get this dress tailored as quickly as possible. I am now SO thankful to have discovered Wazin and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for professional and trustworthy tailoring... My best friend was getting married this past weekend with two special ceremonies on different days (a Nikah and Cameroonian ceremony). I got a dress for the Nikah ceremony a long time ago but didn't know that the Cameroonian had a specific colorful and formal dress code until two weeks before the event...and I'm the maid of honor! Unfortunately, since it was prom season, I had extremely bad luck in finding an appropriate dress in stock and one that could arrive on time. So as soon as I arrived in New York, I finally found a great dress but it needed to be shortened and the bodice slimmed. I needed it to be tailored within TWO days! I called two places but they couldn't accommodate the rushed service. Then I called Wazin. Sam answered and immediately replied that he'd be happy to help me get this dress tailored. With two suitcases, a briefcase, and a new dress in hand, I stumbled on over to their address and was surprised to find such a professional and upscale place. I walked in to a cozy space with classic decor and met with a man who was dressed well - it was Sam! He was very kind, understanding, and knew exactly how the dress should fit me. He even suggested putting in a built-in bra into the bodice so I wouldn't have to use a strapless bra when wearing the dress (Ladies, DO IT. It was such a great suggestion). He was very honest with his opinions and helped show me where things should be cut and to what length. It was such a relief and surprise to find that my dress was ready the very next day. The length and built-in bodice fit me perfectly and I received so many compliments on this dress during the event. I am extremely grateful that I found Wazin and would absolutely recommend anyone looking for quality tailoring and genuine customer service to give them an opportunity to work with them. Thank you, Sam and to those at Wazin, for helping to make this a wonderful wedding weekend!

If you're looking for a magnificent tailor, then you've found him with Sam. I had bought a few nice suits that had to be tailored and I did some searching on Google and Yelp. After going through a lot, I decided to go with Sam based on the reviews that I'd read. I went there with two suits and he was great. He asked me what I was looking for and also gave me different options to choose from. For example, for my pants cuff, he said I could make it more formal or more casual. He asked for the type of look I wanted in my suit. I was happy that he gave me options and his recommendations instead of just dictating what it should be. He worked fast and efficient but never rushed. I probably took a little longer in the changing room but I never felt rushed at all. I needed my two suits for a photoshoot and he was very accommodating to making sure he got them done in time. When I went to pick up my suits, he had me try them on to make sure it looked and fitted well, and that I was also happy with his work. I was happy with his craftsmanship, and I had been going on a bit of a suit shopping spree, so I gave him two more suits to tailor after the original two. Overall, I was happy with Sam's attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the overall experience. You really can't go wrong with Sam and knowing me, I'll be buying more suits in the future, and like how everyone has a person for something, Sam will always be my tailor guy.

    The dress!

I couldn't be more thrilled with Sam's expertise and work. I needed a dress totally reconstructed during this past holiday season for a TV engagement and Sam did an unbelievable job. He is so professional, brilliant with design and knew how to fix every picky detail I had, to deconstruct my entire dress; adding in a built in bra, shoulder pads and tailoring it to all my curves. It ended up being a stunning blazer dress and made me feel comfortable & beautiful the day of my event. I would recommend this work a million times over!

Brought over a $2000 Paul Smith suit to have the sleeves shortened and the trousers tailored. Waited over 2.5weeks to get them back only to whined up leaving them for another two weeks. Pants were not properly done. Suit jacket sleeves way too short. Sam took them back and said all will be fixed. Unfortunately this was not the case. The work was not properly done. You can see from the photos. Where the sleeve meets the shoulder should not be so wrinkled, it should be a nice clean finish. There was even extra loose thread sticking out. Over a month pasted since I first brought in the suit. I just took it elsewhere and that tailor agreed the work was not properly done. Over $200 down the drain. I rarely post reviews but feel all the positive reviews can be misleading.

Unfortunately I had a very poor experience here and will not be back…read more For starters you have to enter a fabric shop and descend the stairs in the back of the shop to get to where they do the alterations. The place to change was simply a thin black fabric sheet that was nearly see through strung up next to the water heater/furnace. Needless to say this made me very weary of changing knowing there were many men in the shop just on the other side of the curtain. I had a bridesmaid dress that needed to be hemmed and brought it in without bothering to bring the high heels I intended to wear with it because I was experiencing some foot swelling and they wouldn't have fit my foot at the time to begin with. I immediately addressed this with the person marking the dress and told them my heels were about 4 inches high so to please add on an additional 3- 3 1/2 inches to the height indicated so the dress would still be floor length when I wear the heels. The communication between myself and the person marking the dress was extremely clear and there were even written notes indicating the extra length to be kept on the dress. I was surprised by the price for the hemming, but they justified the dress was 3 layers and I had to pay prior to them doing the work and they even asked for a tip upfront too! I left the shop confident everything would turn out as expected, as I assumed the high price would guarantee a job well done. Within a week the dress was ready for pickup and I check the seems before leaving, but do not bother trying on the dress as I trusted they did exactly as we had agreed upon. The seems did not look very nice to me, a touch sloppy and wasn't completely straight, but at the end of the day I knew no one else would be looking closely so I accepted the dress and left. I tried on the dress at home only to find out it was even shorter than where the markings were during the fitting! Even flat-footed without any shoes on, the dress did not touch the ground. It was a disaster once I put my intended high heels on and it was the equivalent of high-waters but with a dress. In a panic I text or email them and even provide photos. They say I could bring it back, but by that point I only had a few days before the wedding and even if they let out the seems, one inch of fabric was not enough when it was missing at least 3 inches! They did go so far as to offering to purchase me another dress and to redo the hemming which I do think was above and beyond in attempting to make it right, but the dress was a special order color and there was no way to get another one in time. I finally spoke to the bride who just didn't want to risk the dress getting more messed up and asked to keep it as-is and the final resolution I received from the business was just a vague offer to discount a future service, no offer to even partially refund me for the poor work that had already been paid for. I ended up having to wear some much lower shoes and just bend my legs a bit in the photos so my dress looked the same length as the other bridesmaids. Overall my experience here was poor and I wouldn't want to risk another special occasion garment coming out not as expected. With so many other shops offering alterations in the area for a similar or cheaper price point I would choose another place.

Went here a few months ago to get some suits tailored. Tailor job was good, but the service was…read moresome of the worst I've ever experienced and that alone is enough to make sure I never go back. When I dropped my things off, I was told it would be ready and given a range of days to pick it up. I went by the last day in the pickup range, and not everything was ready yet. I grabbed the stuff that was and asked when my last article would be ready. They again gave me a pickup date. I came by on the second pickup date and the suit was still not ready. I was never notified that the timeframe had changed or anything, they just let me show up and wasted my time twice in a row.
