Elms Cleaners & Expert Alterations - Wedding dress

Elms Cleaners & Expert Alterations

I had a wonderful experience at Elms Cleaners for my wedding dress alterations…read more *PLEASE BE AWARE* she is booking months out! I had to call in the beginning of May for my September wedding and she had to squeeze me in then. So call 5 months before your big day or sooner. She booked 4 appointments for me, and a final appointment for pick up and how to show my maid of honor how to bustle my dress. She might look a little disorganized, but that is just her way of doing things. My wedding dress came out perfect. The only problem was my dress was so heavy the bustle did come undone at my reception but this was my fault for stepping on the dress and ripping some of the button's thread.. I had emergency thread and able to fix it... most dresses would not have this problem, but if you're waking in uneven grass just make sure to lift up the dress and watch your step. Either way, I looked perfect in the dress and that's all that mattered. She has great communication, always verified next appointments and texted me if she needed any questions answered or updates on when my dress was ready. Ursula is a very sweet lady, and always trying to appease. I would definitely recommend to anyone. She's actually a master tailor, took 8 years of schooling... her perfection and attention to detail is on point. She was very helpful with veil selection and advice for bridal fashion. She also helped me find a new rhinestone appliqué piece for the bodice that was nicer than the one the dress came with! Just call really early to book!

Always do the work in a timely fashion. Owner very nice and goes beyond what you would expectread more

Teeeee-riffic place…read more My problem: I had just purchased a $140 Calvin Klein red sheath dress for Christmas doings in Arizona. It looked lovely on me! I wore it only twice. Then, a big grease splatter pockmarked the front on Christmas Eve... I couldn't even wear it on Christmas as planned. Without thinking, I dabbed a tinnnny bit of water and Dial soap on a washcloth and tried to wipe some of the grease away. It dried overnight and in the morning, I was met with a large water stain that had eclipsed the diminutive grease spots. I knew it was dry clean only, but I had no idea that this would happen! I was heartbroken. I flew my damaged dress back to MA and brought it to Five Star Cleaners. The two older ladies at the shop complimented me on the dress, and said that they'd try their best to eliminate the water stain, as well as the grease spots. Nothing could be guaranteed, of course, because water stains are notoriously difficult. Because of the holidays, Five Star was a little backed up, but I was in no rush. I just wanted my dress to be "fixed." Fast forward about a week later (I forgot to pick it up a few times), I dropped in again to retrieve it, about 5 minutes before closing time. I didn't have my receipt, but the gentleman was able to look up my information nevertheless. He hung my red dress up for my inspection and WOW! not a trace of grease or water stain to be seen! And here I was, imagining that I'd have to dye it purple, or buy another $140 dress to replace it. Obviously, I'm super excited that for less than $15 my damaged dress was returned to like-new condition. I highly recommend Five Star Cleaners for dry-cleaning services, but they also do hemming, repairs, and more. They are honest and straight forward, and do not hesitate to convey their prognosis of your problem. If they can fix it, they will try. If it will be expensive, they let you know up front. I'm so very grateful that they were able to rescue my dress!

I used this cleaning service on the recommendation of a relative. I had 2 comforters cleaned…read more(Queen and King). It was expensive at $40.00 each but I needed them done quickly. I picked both up about a week or so after due date. One was extremely wrinkled which I wasn't expecting at that price point nor from a professional service. Of course, the fabric and late pick up may have contributed but I've had the same comforter cleaned before at half the price without wrinkles. Not sure what happened this time around and will seek other options in the future.
