I purchased a Suzuki SV650S motorcycle from Bastrop Powersports in September of 2005 and received…read moresome excellent advice from the shop manager at that time (Link). There seems to be a bit of a revolving door in terms of personnel, but the overall quality of the service I received both before and after the sale have been very good. The biggest problem I've experienced is that they never seem to have the parts, etc that I need in stock, especially tires since they primarily deal in 4-wheelers for the ranchers and their kids. When you need a replacement tire you usually really can't wait a week until they can get one in. So as much as I dislike the big shop mentality at Wood's FC in Austin, I usually end up buying parts there. Bastrop Powersports is a very friendly small town dealership though and I would recommend at least giving them a chance if you're shopping for a new bike.

Took my 2005 Artic Cat 650 V-Twin in to Bastrop Powersports for carburator repairs & to be jetted…read morefor a trip to Colorado. It ran fine but leaked fuel when I dropped it off... They said about 3 days it would be ready. I called after a week & was told the parts werent in. The next day they called & said I needed 2 new carburators @ $750.00 because my slides were wore out & the slides wouldnt open properly due to a vaccum problem that it didnt have when I dropped it off. They finally got it running with the carbs that were on it. They replaced 1 float needle ($ 26.26 ), installed the new jets ($ 9.90 ), & an air filter ( $ 28.95 ), Labor ($ 190.00) I picked it up after 10 days in the shop & a cost of $ 288.35, It ran OK.& didnt leak fuel but it didnt have the power it should have had but they said that was due to the high altitude jets. In Colorado on the first run it wouldnt get over 15 mph down hill. After talking to local shops that didnt have time to fix it, I took it apart & found that Bastrop P/S did not get the diaphrams sealed properly causing the slides not to open. After properly sealing the diaphrams myself It ran Great. Back at home I called Bastrop P/S on tuesday to discuss the issue with them, I was told the mgr. would be in the next day & left my #. They never called..... I called back friday & the person I talked to listened to my problem & the told me that " IT RAN WHEN YOU PICKED IT UP & FELT THE COSTS WERE JUSTIFIED " in a slightly rude tone. I don't mind paying for a job done correctly, but these people are a rip off. Beware!!!!! Would not recommend at all.....

(Zero Stars if I Could)…read more I had an incredibly frustrating experience at this shop and felt compelled to share my thoughts. As a mechanic and former shop owner with over 20 years of experience, I went in seeking a simple tire mounting and balancing for a brand new Pirelli tire, having been referred by several friends. Upon arrival, I met Thomi, the owner, who was friendly but informed me her regular mechanic was unavailable. Instead, her husband, also a mechanic, would take care of it. I expressed that there was no rush, hoping to have it back by the weekend, and she assured me it would be no problem. Fast forward to Thursday when I called to check on the status, only to find out it wasn't done yet but would definitely be ready the next day. I received a call later that same day confirming it was finished, so I went to pick it up. I paid the $65 and carefully placed the wheel in my truck to avoid damage during transport. Upon arriving home and rolling it into my garage, I was horrified to find several scratches on the rim. I should have inspected it before leaving the shop, but they were closing, and I was eager to get back to riding. I reached out via text to Thomi's number but received no response. The next day, I returned to the shop. Thomi was busy with another customer, so I opted not to create a scene and instead made eye contact with her. She assured me she would make it right. However, the following day she called, claiming she was "1 million percent certain" she hadn't scratched the rim. This is especially disheartening considering it was the first tire on a 2023 bike with only 3,800 miles. After weeks of waiting and no communication, I called again and learned Thomi would be back the following Tuesday. That day came and went with no updates. Eventually, after another two weeks, she called to ask whether the rim was powder-coated or painted, which I had no way of knowing. Finally, after over six weeks of waiting, I got a call saying it was ready. I took my lunch to pick it up and inspected it this time, only to have Thomi deny any wrongdoing again and tell me not to bring anything back. Honestly, who would after such a dreadful experience? Beware of this shop. I would have gladly waited two weeks for a job well done instead of enduring this whole ordeal with an inexperienced person. Save yourself the trouble and find a more reliable place.
