I was able to get 110 miles with it slipping constantly on back roads before I had to get a tow. Stress free KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON‼ I should have been told about it. I was honestly stressed out and wasn't sure what to do. A friend told me about this shop, so I decided to get a second opinion. That was the best decision I could have made. The staff took their time to go through everything with me and explained each service in a way that actually made sense. They were honest, professional, and never tried to sell me anything I didn't need. They completed the repairs using OEM-quality parts and charged much less than the dealership. The difference in price was unbelievable, and the quality of work was excellent. My Lexus is running great, and I feel much more confident knowing the work was done right. It's rare to find a shop that is both knowledgeable and trustworthy. About a year ago I got quoted $1,400 by Midas to get my axel boots replaced on my Toyota yaris. I called him in desperation-- my parents had brought their cars to him before but I had never brought mine in, but I had heard great things. I left a message and a couple days later he called back and said I could bring in my car early in the morning so he could take a look, no appointment needed despite his crazy busy schedule. He let me know that the issue was not nearly as bad as I had been told and that he could do the job for half of what Midas had quoted me. This was my first experience with him and he has consistently shown how much he truly cares about doing right by people and taking care of their cars honestly and to the best of his ability. I feel like I could trust him with my life. When he retires eventually I will have to go into mourning. If you are not sure whether the wait for an appointment is worth it, ask yourself if you can afford to pay double whatever he will charge you to another mechanic who will not be nearly as thorough as he will be. Recently, when he had to refer me to another shop because I needed a service he doesn't provide, he asked me to still follow up and let him know how it went after the work was done, just out of the pure kindness of his heart. He is a one in a hundred million kind of mechanic.

For a car as basic and common as a Ford Focus, that didn't sit right with me. What was more disappointing was the overall experience. The communication wasn't helpful, and the attitude felt dismissive rather than solution-oriented. If you're going to charge that much for diagnosis, I would expect clearer answers or at least some guidance on next steps. It also felt like their focus has shifted since moving locations. There seemed to be a lot of attention on vintage and specialty vehicles, and less interest in helping someone with a standard daily driver. At this point, I'm getting a second opinion because I don't feel confident in the diagnosis or the value of the service provided.

My impression mirrors the general feel of most of the other reviews. There's no way of me knowing if my car is out of alignment unless it becomes obvious while driving, or in my case, uneven tire wear. There's also no way for me to test it. This is one of those "have faith the tech is doing the right thing" type of services. Even after receiving the alignment report after service, the report is greek to me. I think many, if not most, drivers have about the same scope of perception that I do, so I think it's hard for them to claim that the work done here is "the BEST". Your car is either properly aligned...or it isn't. So what about this shop? Got an appointment right away, and was taken on time. Chris seemed efficient and I was in and out in 25 mins. If you call around, the price is almost exactly the same as everyone else doing a 4-wheel alignment, so his prices are commensurate with everyone else's...no better, no worse. Lastly, with regard to Chris' demeanor. He needs a checkup from the neck up. Evidently, the fact that this is continually mentioned in these reviews, is in itself very telling. He was short and curt with me on the phone, and in person talks to you with absolutely no emotion. No greeting, no smile, not even sure he said hello. I wouldn't even call him cordial. In fact his demeanor almost makes you feel as though he has disdain for you. I agree with others that I don't go to a shop for the scintillating conversation, but this man is running a business. Sorry Chris, that means that you might have to acquiesce and pretend to value your customer by at least faking it, and have some appreciation for the fact that they came in to give you their business (and $$). Perhaps (and this is only conjecture) he has a certain level of burnout from doing this same mundane task for over 20 years. If that's so, don't pay your level of monotony forward. I'm on the fence about this shop. I guess my overall feel is that if another shop can match his service and price (and I believe there are others who can), but can do it with a smile, I lean towards going elsewhere. 4 stars for quality and efficiency. Minus 1 star for a complete lack of business etiquette/customer relations. read more

This experience was so unprofessional, stressful, and mishandled that I feel obligated to warn others. I brought my car in for an alignment because my steering wheel was shaking. The owner started the alignment, came back and said he had "bad news," that the right front strut and another part attached to it was damaged, which he showed me. He explained the repair; I told him I would bring the car the next day and needed it completed by the end of the day. I asked him what time I could bring it in, in order to have it completed. He gave me a specific drop-off time, promising it would be done by the end of the day. That was the last time I heard from him. I waited all day for a call and when I didn't receive any updates, I called at 6:03 PM--just after their posted closing time--and left a voicemail. I followed up later that evening. Still no response. The next morning, I left more voicemails at 9:17 and 9:32 AM. Again, nothing. With no communication and no car, I asked a neighbor to drive me to the shop. We waited for over an hour outside a locked door even though their posted hours say they open at 9 AM. No one showed up. No call. No text. No accountability whatsoever. Eventually, we gave up and went home. I continued calling. Left another voicemail at 11:59 AM. Still nothing. I finally got through to the owner at 12:13 PM. He casually said the wrong part had been delivered, so he had to go pick up the correct one, and it would be ready by 4:30. He claimed he had tried to call me but said it went to voicemail. That was simply not true. I had my phone with me the entire time - no missed calls in my call log, no voicemail. I asked him why, if he got my voicemail, he didn't leave a message, he had no answer. His story didn't add up, and his tone showed zero concern for the situation he had created. I was stranded for over a day, stressed, and completely in the dark. I even started wondering whether the shop had shut down altogether. The total lack of communication, ownership, or even basic courtesy made an already frustrating situation so much worse. This shop had been recommended by America's Tire; I've since contacted them and asked that they stop referring customers here. I understand that delays happen. But not updating a customer, ignoring calls, failing to show up to your business during posted hours, that's not a delay; that's a complete lack of professionalism and respect. A simple call or text, that would have taken less than a minute letting me know about the wrong part, could've saved me hours of unnecessary stress. And unbelievably, it didn't end there. After finally completing the repair, the owner told me I'd need to come back the next week for an alignment, once the new parts had "settled." He vaguely apologized, saying he had "forgotten" to call me--an excuse that's just as careless as the rest of the experience. We set a follow-up appointment for 1:00 PM the next Thursday. A friend who was with me at the time asked him "are you definitely going to be here?" He promised he would be. When I arrived: locked doors, empty office, no sign of anyone. I called--no answer. I sat there for half an hour. At 1:30, I tried again and got a message that the voicemail box was full. Finally, at 1:35, the owner called and said he'd be there "in 10 minutes." That turned into over an hour of waiting - 2 PM. A different guy eventually showed up, unlocked the door and said the owner was "on his way." When he finally walked in, incredibly he didn't apologize - he just asked for my keys with an attitude like I was the one inconveniencing him. The total lack of concern, accountability, and basic respect for my time throughout this entire ordeal was inexcusable. The owner showed no sense of urgency, no ownership of his repeated mistakes, and no regard for how much time and stress he was causing. If you value your time and your sanity, avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of reputable shops out there, this isn't one of them. Lesson learned.

They don't offer an online list out of items inspected including pictures showing what they've found, and recommendations for work needing to be done. They don't text you with an estimate. They don't call if you need something replaced; you find out only after you show up. The customer service is gone. But it's worse than that. But what really shocked me up was opening up the hood of my car to add some washer fluid only to notice the air filter housing was still unclipped, which seemed negligent. But opening the housing I discovered the air filter was missing entirely! They serviced my car 5000 miles ago and my car didn't have an air filter put in. I was just planning on taking it in for service but it won't be with them now. I'm livid! I'm done with Diablo Auto Specialists, or Autoworx or whatever name change is going on there. I would never go back and would highly discourage anyone else from going there.

BE WARNED, The owner is dishonest and unaccountable. Not qualified IMO to work on closed system air…read moresuspension systems - F rating on BBB. I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee. My service air suspension light came on a couple times in early Feb so I immediately looked into getting it fixed. Feb 4th, an inspection at Main St Automotive revealed I had air leaks in my right front and rear shock and strut assembly. After talking to the dealer (who had parts on backorder) I spoke to Main Street again, further inquiring about their expertise. They assured me that they work on all the premium cars with air lift suspension all the time and were very well qualified to do the work. Andrei O, the owner, and I had a long discussion about the importance of buying factory OEM Mopar Parts although they were more expensive. I had been looking at alternative parts sellers (Mopar branded available for $800-1000) but Andre convinced me these sites would be fraudulent and that they would only use Mopar genuine OEM parts. He advised against buying anything anywhere outside of Mopar direct as they'd be fake. He gave me a long story about how he used to work there and knew the GM personally. He sent me the factory link where the parts were priced at $2281.25. Although the bid of Main Street Automotive was more expensive, I authorized them to do the work. I brought the car in on Feb 5 for the service for which Andrei said he had the parts in stock. At 4pm Feb 5th the front desk girl called to tell me "the car is finished and ready for pick up". I arrived to pick it up at the appointed time and Andrei advised that 1) they had just started reprogramming the computer and 2) it could take up to an hour to complete. After waiting 30 minutes with no visible progress, I had to leave for a family affair. They kept the car another day, and advised that they had to open a case with a master technician to resolve the reprogramming. After working with their "master technician", Feb 6th the front desk called back near end of the day and advised "the car was done and ready for payment and pick up" (again). I immediately paid $3300 in cash in good faith. The car immediately failed while driving off the property. Ultimately the vehicle was taken to the dealer by Main St. to correct the problem, but the diagnostic given to the dealer was incomplete, testing only the top 2 ride heights of which there are 5. The car still did not work correctly in aerodynamic or exit/entry mode. Andrei advised they did not initially have the proper high speed cable required to complete the job. Main St, I learned, can also not complete this job without nitrogen from the dealer. Main Street Auto then advised I should get all further work completed at the dealer. Their OWN STAFF advised the car was unsafe to drive in its current condition. THEY COULD NOT COMPLETE THE JOB that I paid for. When the dealership received the car again, the master technician (38 years) at the dealer advised that the computer had been reprogrammed incorrectly with the rear suspension ride height improperly set so the rear was always elevated. They asked me "why did Main Street Auto attempt to reprogram it at all, the replacement of shocks/struts and air suspension requires no reprogramming"? I called to discuss this with Main St. after it was shared by the dealership and the front desk guy put me on hold for 10 minutes for "an emergency with the boss". When he returned, told me that the only thing the shop did was check the calibration numbers (an evasive reversal of facts). He said "any remote reprogramming was done by someone offsite". I asked who that was and he would only tell me "someone in their network" and then quickly rushed me off of the phone. The dealer continued to advise that they NEVER adjust the computer under ANY circumstances from factory settings unless it is a brand new computer because it is a challenging calculation process and CANNOT BE DONE remotely. Of principle concern, the master tech at the dealership shared that the cheaper AFTERMARKET PARTS used could be part of the issue. This came as a shock after Andrei pushed so hard for Mopar parts and sent me the exact link and price for them. The dealership also notified me of OLD parts used in the repair. The owner is simply deceitful. Refused to take calls for over a week until I threatened action. I'm certain Andrei will reply w/ how they went "above and beyond" but believe me when I tell you it will be full of half truths and poor handling of a job they were unqualified to do for while charging me for OEM and using discount and used parts, obvious to the dealership. I took my 2003 Toyota Tacoma in for service because my check engine light wouldn't turn off. I had…read morerecently replaced the battery, but after only two weeks and less than 100 miles, the light was still on. Jeremiah and his team diagnosed the issue, cleared the codes, and let me know that my water pump was on its last legs. They advised me to closely monitor my temperature gauge and strongly consider replacing it sooner rather than later. The check engine light stayed off until I was just 10 miles away from my smog testing appointment. Rather than miss the appointment, I went in and explained that I likely wouldn't pass. I called Walnut Creek Auto Pros, scheduled an appointment to replace the water pump, and asked them to check the EVAP codes as well. After the repairs were completed, I returned to the smog station and passed without issue. Even though they're 35 miles from my home, Walnut Creek Auto Pros is the only shop I trust to work on my truck.

Mark has gone above and beyond every time we've needed work done. He has super competitive pricing and will even talk you out of getting work done if he doesn't think it's completely necessary. There have been multiple times where Mark will run diagnostic tests on our vehicles and won't even charge for it. Some shops charge well over $100 for that alone.
