The food taste good I had some greens with meat and the fufu and enjoyed it. A little pricey and spicy too but worth your money.

I called to inquire about south African sausage (boerewors), and they said "don't know it" and then they hung up. :(

I canNOT believe what I have been missing!!! I tried the egusi soup with pounded yam and was literally floored by how good it was. I brought some home for my wife and kids and they all loved it. I've been back several times since. Unfortunately I NEVER see anyone in there so I hope they are getting enough service to stick around. I've had their jerk wings as well as their jollif rice and all of it is amazing. The restaurant itself is simple and the staff friendly.

I ordered the egusi soup & okra soup with yam fufu and corn fufu. Very very flavorful! The egusi soup with yam fufu was my favorite. However, when I left the soups sitting out for my partner to try after coming home from work, they both somehow became a bit salty? And he wasn't able to enjoy it like how I did when it was fresh. There's not a lot of African restaurants in Cypress, but this place is definitely worth a try. Still can't get over the texture of fufu! It's so pleasant with the soups.

It had so much flavor in it mmmm! My husband loved his goat meat he didn't leave behind a single thing, cleaned the whole plate...at his fufu and then some of mine. Service/ambiance: They are the sweetest people you'll ever meet. It was obvious we didn't know anything about the menu and several people approached us to help us get something they think we would like. Didn't even feel like we were eating out but instead eating at a friend's or family's house. We went a bit late so I think people were getting off work and it was clear that this place feels like home for everyone because they were coming just to hang out and eat. Such a lovely place and the best fufu I tried (after eating it I tried it at another few spots just for the comparison - no one could compare).

Oooooooh sweet mother of pearl! I stumbled on a gem today! Afrikiko is on fire (though the door was…read moreopen so it was kinda chilly)!!!! From the minute I walked in, I knew that the odds would most likely be in my favor. First of all there are two huge portraits of the female proprietess and her husband flanking the cash register, in full Asante regalia. Which totally made me feel like I was in someone's living room looking at their mantle, versus at a restaurant. But it added a touch of culture and a huge sense of pride. There was a older man waiting for food, staring at the big screen tv, DANCING to the music. This is a great sign! Do you know how good this food is about to be, because I do, if it makes Papa DANCE!!! Oh yeah, I was getting excited. There was a fridge stocked FULL TO THE BRIM and spilling over onto the floor of every soda, both American and African, plus several types of beer. To me this read as "yup, you gone be thirsty after this FIYAHHHHHH"! And they weren't wrong! My food came out piping hot, relatively quickly, and paired with warm water for hand washing! Not every African restaurant is this traditional, so I again, knew it was about to go down!!!!! I would get into a lengthy description of the groundnut soup but that would waste more of your time reading, instead of driving, STRAIGHT TO Afrikiko!!! I will say that the side of spinach that I requested was so smooth and tomatoey and robust with flavor, that I was thoroughly surprised. I was expecting just a side of sautéed spinach, maybe a bit of onion or garlic, but that damn spinach was soooooo good I almost licked the bowl. If I could give 10 stars I would! This place will make me drive from Dallas yall! And you should too! Worth every single penny I spent! Thanks Afrikiko!

I walked into the clean, chilled ambiance building and felt completely lost. I had no idea that it's a contactless experience. The order must be placed electronically prior to arriving or at a kiosk upon arrival. Once you've placed your order and paid for it, you take a seat and wait to be notified via text message. When your food is ready, your text message will direct you to a locker number which will go to and unlock by clicking on a link provided in your text message. Thankfully, there was a kind Harris County Deputy who was also visiting for the first time and patiently worked with me to make sure I was able to place my order. I think the concept is innovative here in the U.S. (been going on in Asian countries) and could really take off. However, there should be available signs with directives posted both outside and inside of the building. The food was just as delicious as it was the first time. Please don't let the negative reviews deter you from giving this restaurant a try.
