I had my first Kati roll from the carts on Sachem St and really enjoyed it. We got the chicken, lamb, and beef. My partner and love the lamb kati and it is our favorite. Since COVID the cart is no longer on Sachem so we decided to order delivery from the store. We got the chicken, lamb, beef, and paneer kati, and gyro rice bowl. Lamb is still our favorite followed by beef and chicken. The paneer was bit more bland and needed a stronger curry flavor. The gyro is pretty solid and it was neat that they offer selling just their gyro or falafel for those that want to have them for meal prepping. The rice bowl combo in general was average but the gyro really made it worth it. Definitely will order again when we are craving some kati rolls. read more

Came for takeout and got the falafel bowl with half rice half salad, hummus and pita, and samosas. It was VERY difficult to confirm vegan options both over the phone and in person, as the staff didn't seem super confident about what contained dairy and eggs. So if you have food allergies might want to be extra careful. For example we asked instead of the white sauce (contained eggs) if it could be subbed for tahini and we still received white sauce. The food we got was delicious though and we all enjoyed it! The restaurant had a cool vibe and it would be fun to eat there next time instead of takeout. read more

I have driven past this place a million times & I regret not trying it sooner! I think they are renovating the inside right now so when I walked in I was a little skeptical, but this place does not disappoint! I got a falafel sandwich & a lemon chicken pita wrap. I've never had better falafel - hands down - INCREDIBLE! And the lemon chicken made me want to cry it was so yummy. AND THEN.... You get the "ABK sauce" on the side.... I looked like an animal trying to get every last drop of it out of the container. WOW! THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! WOW! read more

The food is very delicious. I don't know what they want me to say but they want me to do 85 characters in order to post this.

Clean outside and in. Had the hummus and 2 mixed combo bowls with everything on them. Our first bites were like being slapped in the face by a flavor stick. Everything was perfect, the rice has wonderful flavor and was cooked perfectly. Both meats had miles of flavor and are tender. If the menu looks remotely interesting to you, go to Ali Baba's. You owe it to your taste buds. read more

Amazing food and great ambience! We tried speciality bowl and cauliflower kati roll, both tasted amazing!!

i love the vegetable stew that comes with their fish SO MUCH! I have also loved the fish as well as the lemon chicken.

Too pricey for the taste. The salad ( iceberg lettuce) was nasty. Very disappointed Also, when called in to order, was told to hold for more than 5 minutes , which was very unusual. Despite the read back of my order , we still got our order wrong- got salad instead of cooked mix vegetables read more

Very clean Food was good however they had to re make one of our plates as it was very dry Decent, adequate portions Elevated prices but what isn't these days Probably the best place you can go in the area read more

The Kati Rolls are addictive! Always a great option for a quick lunch.. Make sure to catch their food truck if you set it around.

Absolutely delicious. Excellent quality and super tasty. 10 out of 10. We will be hitting repeat on Ali Baba's. The on tap kombucha is amazing...blue sea especially. read more

Food is good for takeout but portions are pretty small. I was still hungry after eating here

Delicious!!! Try the Kati rolls! I ordered3, thinking that I'd eat 2 and bring one home for my wife. WRONG! I devoured all 3, then ordered 4 more to take home. Hope they survive the ride read more

I came across the food truck of this place at work, and so many... soooo many people talk about it! Especially the famous dish "Lemon Chicken". I would always get it during lunch and service is always great! I've been wanting to bring my husband to the actual restaurant so he could see what he was missing. I had never been to the restaurant before. We went and even a couple more times after (Not close to home). He loved it and so did I! Very much so where I don't know if I'll be able to eat at the carts anymore. It's just so fresh and for some reason tastes so much better. Don't get me wrong the carts are wonderful just a little difference now. I haven't tried anything else other than the Lemon chicken and the chicken Kati rolls. The rolls are sooo good! Highly recommend both!!! I will never stop coming here!!! Side note: As please open a location up in Middletown , you would make a killing!!! read more

Fast service, great food! My most ordered from Uber eats. And I like how they now have the option to customize on Uber eats.

Stopped in at 9:45 to get a bite to eat on a Sunday. The sign says open and the doors were unlocked. Both yelp and google both said closes at 10. When my girlfriend and I went to the counter to place an order the girl said the kitchen closes at 9:30 and they clean up from 9:30 to 10 and leave at ten. Not sure why it says open til 10:00. If they stop at 9:30. They should close at 9:30 and not advertise that they are open til 10. This is what will make me never go back to this place to eat and I recommend that you don't go either unless maybe you go early. Good luck!!! read more

I've gone to this restaurant at least six times and every time I have been satisfied with service, portion and pricing. I always order and take out vs dining in. Each time I've gone restaurant clean, no loitering and cashiers has been friendly. I would recommend to friends and family. read more

Food was excellent. Lemon chicken was the best and their falafel is great too. The ambiance in the restaurant was chill and serene with beautiful Arabic music playing in the background. read more

Delicious, fresh and won't break the bank. Lemon chicken and Kati roll are the best! Generous portions too.

The food wasn't good. Had falafel with chicken dinner. Falafel was way too salty and chicken tasted weird. Rice was fair. Cabbage salad was decent. Wouldn't recommend. read more

I stopped at this spot on my way to MA from CT. The flavors were pretty good in my lemon chicken wrap, but it was extremely hard to pick up and eat. I probably should of went for a bowl option instead to save for later. My wrap was so full that by the time I made it half way through, it was all mushy from all the white sauce and onions at the bottom. My falafel was burnt unfortunately but the wrap made up for the loss of the falafel. I will probably return and give them another try since they came highly recommended, but I don't live in the area so we'll see! read more

We love the lemon chicken with rice platter. Clean restaurant and great for takeout.

Great meals, fast and inexpensive. Very nice clean seating with big windows. We had fish and chicken dishes and enjoyed every bite. BYOB but very casual about spare cups. Friendly and helpful staff. Counter service. Didn't have the Gyro Strips but might the next time! read more

My office got different rice platters and falafel from here for an event and it is SO good!

Never disappoints. I always get the Gyro bowl. My kids are very specific, they don't like onions or salad and Ali Baba always makes it right every time! This is our go to at least twice a month! read more

I crave for Ali's food since I left 3 years ago. No kidding! Both I and my son love Ali Baba's fish and signature chicken plates. Thank you for making food that is worth the craving. (Speaking from a self-proclaimed foodie). By the way, I did come back to have the taste. I was so moved by my food when I received my order from a nice smiling young cashier. She probably didn't notice our 'joy' when I saw my food. Felt like coming home. Thank you, again! read more

Ha, so let me get this straight, my good friend Em has no problem driving down crappy Dixwell Avenue but does have a problem driving along West Haven's shoreline. Sheesh some Yelpers make me laugh. Yes this place is not located in the greatest neighborhood of Hamden. And if it were moved over four blocks south on Dixwell in New Haven I'd probably be reluctant to step out of my car. But when I visited Ali Baba after work one evening I felt safe and even took advantage of their parking lot in the rear, albeit it is a small parking lot at that. I didn't understand the "fusion" part at first but apparently the fusion is blending together both Pakastani and Indian styles of food. You can see it in their menu. You'll find things like like falafels, koto rolls, paneers, couscous, lamb, and lots of chicken dishes. It's all halal food by the way. FYI Halal food is to Muslims like what Kosher food is to Jewish people. The interior is a no-frills almost cafeteria-like environment. It's bright, airy, clean, and the restrooms are really immaculate. It's almost too plain and sterile, but heck I suppose that's better than being too dirty and cluttered. Overall Ali Baba's offers a very good bang for your buck. You simply order at their counter and pick up your meal a few minutes later. Their $7 dinner platters offer good size portions so you likely won't walk away hungry. Plus I found the food to be very very good, packed with lots of flavor into every bite. Thumbs up on the lemon chicken platter. And thank God their falafels don't taste like Mamoun's lousy falafels. Ali Baba's falafels actually taste like they were made fresh on that day and not sitting on some shelf from the last century. read more

Love this place! I'll literally go out of my way to stop and pickup or order out for the family! The gyro salad is to die for and the white sauce and the red spicy sauce are unique but essential to go with the food. Lemon chicken which doesn't taste like lemon at all lol, is absolutely delicious as well. I personally have not tasted something from here that I have disliked. Great prep, great flavors! My only one complaint is every time we list notes for the taziki on the side we never get it! Bummer, but still amazing hidden gem. read more

This place hits it out of the park for price, quantity, and quality! Was pleasantly surprised as I opted to try this place due to the great reviews and my incredible lust for gyros--Ali Baba's Fusion did not disappoint! I am a big fan of the gyro platter as the tasty basmati rice, vegetables (which includes my favorite: olives!), and of course, meat. Really impressed! The baklava was fresh and soft compared to the typical tough/hard versions--pretty tasty too and not overly sweet. The inside is nicely organized and clean -looking--feels like a very modern, hip, and clean fast casual restaurant. Big digital menu screens and even a party room in back. I was there during some mariachi band's performance--very cool! Wish I knew about this place earlier--will definitely recommend and visit again! Also, special thanks to Ash for her suggestions on the sauces and letting me try a couple of different ones, so I knew the difference--great customer service! A++++!!! read more

I've been coming to Alibaba for quite some time now over the past few years, I'm truly disheartened with today's service unfortunately. The new promotion popped up on the yelp app stating that if I spent over $10 it would give me a free drink my friends and I placed an order and the individual at the counter said he's never seen anything like that before and they can't be real and then he walked away. Why offer some promotional value and then have me clean it for confusion. read more

This is what I ordered for the first time at this restaurant for lunch. Their Lemon Chicken goes great with a side of pita bread. Enough to satisfy a large appetite or share with a friend. Comes with rice underneath to balance out this deliciousness. Plus the price for all this is enough to not hurt the wallet either under $10. They have lots more dishes to try and I have to see what else I would like to crave. Very spacious lots of seating. A great choice to break from the norm. read more

I was in a mood to try something a little different and Ali Baba was the destination. I ordered the Kati roll which is fresh ground lamb wrapped in paratha bread. After devouring this roll, instantly, I became a fan. Next up, was the veggie couscous platter. Again, I was not disappointed with this platter of mixed veggies, eggplant, chickpeas & raisins. It was fresh & delicious! read more
