I have been coming here for years .Always liked food .Ordered potato and egg hero . Got greasy french fries all stuck together and a little bit of scrambled eggs. For an italian rest. they should know how to cook potatos and eggs . I normally would not call but it was really bothering me. Wonderful experience from service to food! The girls taking orders are friendly and get it right! The Saturday delivery guy found my apartment easily (which rarely happens) and came to the door and helped me put the very hot food down. The pizza box got a little crushed from the things on top and he made sure the pizza was still ok. Total class act! I like "different" pizza. And I saw someone on Yelp talked about their Taco Pizza. It's not on the menu but they make one; and it's fantastic! Tonight I tried their Italian Veggie Pizza, and they were very generous with toppings! It was delish, covered with cheese, broccoli Rabe, Eggplant, roasted peppers, artichoke hearts and olives on a thin crust that still stood up to the toppings. I had a taste of their pasta with white clam sauce and it was so smartly packaged in a second larger tin, to keep it from leaking. It was still hot and had lots of crushed clams, and the pasta was perfectly al dente. The fried calamari was tasty and not over chewy, the only thing lacking was a lemon wedge. The medium marinara dipping sauce was absolutely yummy on them. Oh and they are open late!!! Til Midnite Friday and Saturday. Their website for ordering doesn't work so just call them. I read the reviews, saw the news articles and had to dine here. What a treat. I went simple after asking several exhausting questions (thank you Samantha for being patient). The pizza...the pepperoni was outstanding!! But the crust!! I ordered a personal pepperoni pizza and it was large and very reasonably priced. I could not finish eating it. But the crust!! I managed to stuff myself as this truly was the best crust I have ever had!! Seemed a bit unorganized. Person who took my order was very confused. She told me an hour to pick up. I showed up an hour later and it was cold, like it had been sitting there for a while. I have experienced dine in and take out at this spot. I have never had an awful pizza from Algieri's, but I've never had awesome pizza from them either. There are other places in the area that I would go to before Algieri's. UPDATE: Here I am 1 year later, my family has recently ordered the Margherita pizza and my gosh! It is probably in my top 5 pizzas, and trust me when I say I have tried A TON of pizza places. The plain pie is even really great too. Embarrassingly bad order~ Worst meal ever tonight from Algieri's. Pizza was always great at Algieri's but i decided to order other dishes after last time getting a crust that was half raw. 1) fried calamari has always been great, tonight it was under cooked big time, and off taste! just not edible! 2) garlic bread order was slices of bread tossed in aluminum pan with tons of tasteless oil (vegetable oil?), little garlic and oregano. Dripped oil all over when trying to eat it, just hold up slice and watch oil drip off!! WTF!!!! used a ladle to pour in??? 3) main dish ~alfredo primavera~ frozen mixed veggies (carrots, peas, stringbeans) asked for fetticcini~got noodles?????? and the alfredo sauce tasteless....Half cooked frozen mix tossed in boiling water with pasta and a corn starch sauce with no taste! There is just no pride or quality in Algieri's food. If chef doesnt really care, maybe find a new job? The origional owner had fabulous food all around with amazingly good pizza, sadly only the pizza is good and everything else is failing worse and worse, cutting corners on quality, taste and consistency. It seems that no one cares there anymore or has pride on being a chef. Maybe their not even a chef or know what great Italian food is. We hadn't order from Algieri's in a few months because of the quality of previous order with a half raw pizza crust, but fond memories we tried again...MISTAKE, we will just order from people who have pride in their food and not throw money at a lost cause resturant, who's food has become increasingly unedible. read more

I've been ordering pizza from Algieri's for a couple of years, and always pick it up. Typically it has been hot upon pick up but had a couple occasions where it was definitely sitting for a bit, even though I show up 10 minutes before they say to. Well, I decided to order for delivery....and will NEVER make that mistake again. I was told my order would be there in 45 mins to an hour. Exactly an hour and half later, I called to ask where my food was, and was told it was on the way. I said I hope its not cold, and they said oh it won't be. It was. Actually the pizza was burnt and cold. The eggplant parm sandwich was basically eggplant slapped on a roll, no cheese (maybe there was one lonely slice somewhere but not that I could see). Maybe their version of an eggplant parm is different than what I've had elsewhere, but typically the parm part of the name means it has cheese on it. They did offer to send another sandwich (hopefully they didn't spit in it!) as long as I returned the original sandwich, to which I said no problem. By the time I received the sandwich it was a little over 2 hours after I placed my original order. This one was a little better, but the entire experience turned me off from wanted to order from Algieri's again. If, in the future, I do go back to Algieri's, I will only order Pizza and only for pick up. read more

Algeri's has the ambiance of a typical neighborhood pizza parlor with the addition of some tables outdoors. While they have a full menu, I've only had the Pizza so thats what I'll focus my review on. Pretty good!! $8.99 for a pizza on a Tuesday (most places in Belleville have early week prices). The price goes up $1 for delivery. The shop is small, but new and clean. They have a self serve fridge and a small counter. I don't think they sell by the slice. I did not like that the guy took a minute or so to acknowledge me. His laptop and iPhone were more important. But my pizza was baking and wasn't ready yet, so no harm, no foul. He was friendly otherwise. read more

Ironically, I don't flip over their regular pizza but Algieri's is a constant meal stop in my home. Their sandwiches are huge and delish (hot or cold), one of the best Sicilian pies around, and some of the best apps around. If you are just ordering for yourself, then only get the half sandwhich. I've put a few whole ones away but then regretted it. Actually did it with the Italian hot dog a few times. What can I say, I'm a glutton for punishment. When my wife and I order, we usually order a large sandwhich and a buffalo chicken salad. Everything is on point and more than enough. They may have the greatest mozzarella sticks around. Have bought from them to host friends over before and pretty much everybody agrees. The buffalo wings are legit as well. The very last time we got them, it seems they were made differently. I hope they go back to the way they were The Sicilian is on point. In a heavy Italian area, to say it's the best Sicilian pie around is the best compliment I can give. I couldn't find a good pizza place around the area and I was pretty bummed about it because there is nothing worse than bad pizza. Through the graces of god, I found Algieri's after going to a family party and I was hooked! There pizza has the best cheese and a perfect crust--I cannot get enough of it. Other than pizza, I've had their sausage parm sandwich, a variety of pasta dishes and salads and all of them were delicious. I most always order for delivery and they're pretty fast for the most part. I haven't had to wait more than a half hour. The only thing that stinks is that when you pay with a credit card you cannot leave a tip over the phone or on the receipt for the driver so be prepared to tip with cash. I felt bad because I had no cash one day to tip and I was annoyed that they failed to mention that over the phone. My only complaint is that the staff are the nicest and are quick to rush you off the phone. They need to work on that but despite that they have quality Italian food! read more
